Welcome to Peacebeam.
Let us begin.
Step one,
Notice.
As always we begin by asking ourselves how we feel today.
How is your mood?
How are your emotions?
How does your body feel?
Just hold the question and notice the answers that come back.
Step two,
Breathe.
Just gently now place your attention onto your breath,
Your inhale and your exhale and just begin to relax as you take a few moments here to breathe.
And now we're going to connect your breath to your heart.
So imagine now the breath is moving in and out of your heart and your heart is welcoming your breath and the rhythm of your heart and the rhythm of your breath are now connected and just let yourself drop into that space that opens up.
Step three,
Activate.
Today we're going to drop deeply into your own experience of listening.
Right now wherever you are as you are sitting or standing or lying down I'm going to invite you to hear the background noises of wherever you are.
Just tune out of my voice for a few moments and allow the music to fade into the background and tune in to the noises of where you are.
And now just bring your attention back to my voice and listen.
Your ability to hear is different to your ability to listen.
When we hear it is a process of identification,
Differentiating and naming sounds but when we listen we tune to something else,
To something deeper.
The energy and the emotions that the sounds point to,
The mysterious qualities that we can pick up when we bring our full being to the act of listening.
Step four,
Beam.
When you deeply listen to a person or to the world you bring a profound gift of kindness,
A deep stillness in which the wordless,
Nameless things can be heard.
So bring this power to your day today.
Allow your hearing to be transformed into listening and for the mysterious aliveness that is in that listening to spring up and illuminate your life and the lives of those around you.
