Welcome to Peacebeam and to Session 6,
Trust.
Let's begin.
Notice.
So as always,
We begin by taking a few moments just to check in with ourselves.
So just hold the question,
How am I today?
And notice what comes back.
Notice your mood.
Notice your emotions.
And just give yourself a few moments to relax as we move to step 2,
Breathe.
Just bring your attention now to your breathing and just start to watch how your breath moves in and out through your nose or your mouth.
And just slowly begin to tune to its rhythm.
And if you like now,
Just very gently extend your inhale and your exhale.
Not dramatically,
Just a little bit so that you're breathing slightly deeper.
And now just imagine that with every in-breath,
The air is travelling in through your nose or mouth and it is going deep into your heart.
And with every out-breath,
The air is moving up from your heart and out into the world.
And as you hold this idea,
Those two rhythms of your heart and of your breath can connect with each other and create this space of deep relaxation for you to be in for the next few moments of your day.
As we move to step 3,
Activate.
So today in this final session of the 5 Elements of Love,
We are contemplating the fifth element which is trust.
One of the great trials of our modern age is the breakdown in trust that we are experiencing in our societies and in the collective,
Institutions,
Government,
Media,
The age of social media make us all feel as though we are swimming in an ocean of lies.
And this is a real issue for all of us because lack of trust erodes love and our capacity to love.
And the antidote is to rebuild trust in ourselves as individuals.
I believe it is the only way that we can navigate our topsy-turvy world.
To rebuild trust in ourselves,
We must go back to basics.
We must keep our word.
If we say we're going to do something,
Then we do it.
If we make a promise,
We keep it,
Especially the promises that we make to ourselves.
And if we make an agreement with ourselves to honor our own word,
Something in us immediately begins to relax,
To soften.
Our connection to ourselves takes on deeper color and sincerity,
And this is what shines from you into the world.
To be a person of trust is an act of love,
First to yourself and then to everybody that you meet.
So just for today,
Promise that you will keep your word to yourself and do it,
And now smile because you are on your way with that small act to mastering love.

Smile deeply and broadly,
And let the world be touched by the light and the warmth of your smiling face today.
