Hi,
Welcome to Peacebeam and to this series,
The 5 Elements of Love,
And today's session 1,
Introduction.
Let's begin with step 1,
Notice.
And if you're new to Peacebeam,
This is always the first step,
And it's where we notice how we are feeling,
Where we just take a very few moments out of our day and we ask ourselves the question,
How am I today?
So just hold that question and notice what comes back.
Notice your mood,
Just notice how it feels to be in your body today.
As we move to step 2,
Breathe.
And this is where we bring our attention to our breath.
So continue breathing normally,
But just start to notice the breath as it moves in and out through your nose or through your mouth,
And just watch it for a few moments.
And now just very gently extend your in-breath and your out-breath,
Just so that you're breathing a little deeper.
Everything with Peacebeam is very easy,
No strain,
Everything is to relax.
And as you begin to feel some ease arrive in your body,
I want you to just imagine now that your breath is moving in and out through your nose or mouth and it's going deep into your heart,
And the rhythm of your heart and the rhythm of your breath are connecting,
Greeting each other.
And as they make this connection,
This is the rhythm of you,
Your natural state of connection to yourself.
And just be here for a few moments breathing.
And then we move to step 3,
Activate.
Love is one of those extraordinary words,
Four letters,
One syllable,
Tiny,
And yet it has immense,
Almost unimaginable meaning to every being on this planet.
Love is an invisible force,
It can't be manufactured,
It simply arises.
And there are all kinds of love,
Romantic,
Erotic,
Platonic,
Filial,
Parental,
Existential.
And when you think of the word,
No doubt,
People and memories,
Words,
Pictures and emotions begin to stutter.
Perhaps you can feel a change in your body,
A subtle shift of something active,
Moving.
And this is your personal library of all of the elements of love,
And much of it is probably difficult for you to language,
Written as it is in the language of your heart and your emotions.
And because we all have subjective experiences of love and individual understandings,
It can be hard for us to communicate what makes that love for us.
I believe that we are wired to love,
It is a uniquely human technology,
And it is there at least in potential in every person.
So rather than believing that we can improve how we love,
This series of six-piece beams looks at the distinct elements of love.
When we practice these elements,
We can create the circumstances in which love naturally arises.
So the aim of these sessions is to create a new perspective on how we practice love in our lives,
Both for ourselves and for others.
The five elements that we will look at are understanding,
Care,
Responsibility,
Respect and trust.
So before we begin the series together,
Just take a few minutes now to contemplate these beautiful words and acknowledge to yourself that you contain every one of these elements.
You have a powerful capacity for love.
And with that,
Let's move to step four,
Peace beam.
When we peace beam,
We are engaging in an act of love.
We are intending from the deepest part of our being,
Unrestricted good,
For ourselves and for all the beings around us.
What could be a simpler and more beautiful daily expression of your power for love?
Imagine now that intention for good beaming from you today and gracing the world with your loving presence.
Have a beautiful day.
