Welcome to the one-year-old loving kindness meditation.

Parents,

Before we begin,

Have two photos of loved ones the child knows ready to go.

It can be physical photos or photos on your cell phone.

Also,

For the beginning of the meditation,

Either have a handheld mirror ready or go to a mirror in your house.

Let's do a love meditation.

Put your arms across your chest like you're saying the word love in sign language.

Think about what love feels like.

It's time to look in the mirror.

First you're going to love yourself.

Wash your arms over your chest,

Breathe in,

Extend your arms outward and send the love out to yourself.

Say I love you.

Now show your child the photo of someone they love.

Look who it is.

You love this person.

Think about this person.

We are going to send love to this person.

Breathe in with your arms across your chest,

Exhale and send the love out to this person.

Say I love you.

Now show your child the other photo of someone different they love.

Look who it is.

You love this person.

Think about this person.

Think of them as we send love to them.

Breathe in with your arms across your chest,

Exhale and send the love out to this person.

Say I love you.

Do you feel the love in your heart?

Thank you for doing the one year old loving kindness meditation with us.
