Hi,
I'm Kumari Davy and today I want to talk to you about liking yourself and how important that is.
It's the first step on a spiritual path.
If you don't like yourself,
Then you won't like other people.
Because other people are only extension of you.
You want to develop a relationship with your inner you and get to know you,
Like what makes you happy.
Liking yourself means you take good care of yourself.
You eat right,
You don't smoke,
Take drugs,
Or drink excessive alcohol.
You exercise,
Meditate,
Do yoga,
And are honest with yourself.
Liking yourself also means you enjoy your own company.
When you don't like yourself,
You sabotage the good things coming to you.
Even if you draw in someone as a friend or relationship,
When you don't like yourself,
You sabotage the connection because you feel unworthy or you don't deserve to be happy.
When you push other people away,
You're pushing something in you away too.
Perhaps it's love.
Everyone needs to work on their inner psyche and mental patterns to achieve a positive relationship with their own self.
You want to change your mindset and always think positive thoughts too.
The ego is a crafty character and it likes to keep you stuck in the negative,
Spitting thoughts out of control sometimes.
But you're the captain of the ship and you can't always control your thoughts.
Once you feel the mind spinning negative thoughts,
Quickly jump in and say something positive,
Like that's not true or you're pulling my chain.
Changing your thinking around and use the phrase,
I am.
I am happy,
I am successful.
The subconscious understands I am.
If you don't like yourself,
The crafty ego will find past experiences where you made a mistake and you'll start to beat yourself up and spiral out of control.
The ego will say things like you don't need a spiritual path or you're a terrible person or you don't deserve to be happy.
You'll also talk yourself out of good habits,
Connecting with positive people and taking good care of yourself.
The ego is the false self.
Whatever it says,
It's not true.
Being on a spiritual path is making a commitment to yourself and developing positivity,
Self-care and self-love.
Just a note about self-love,
It's not selfish.
Self- selfish means self-centered,
Like an inflated ego and we all know what happens with an inflated ego.
They can easily get deflated.
You want to like and value yourself.
Fill yourself up with love,
Kindness and positivity.
Liking and taking good care of yourself is like a full-time job.
If you don't like yourself,
No one else will like you either and you'll continually prove the ego right.
You want to prove your spiritual self right instead.
I know this is deep,
But another person can't give you something you are not.
I hope this makes sense to you.
Namaste.
