Your work really matters.
I know this.
You know why?
Because it has an impact.
Because everything that you do for your well-being,
The active self-care steps support you in being well.
And we know if we are well,
We might have a better way to show up with our values towards our projects,
Colleagues,
Friends,
Beloved ones and ourselves.
Take a deep breath with me and take this in.
Your work has high impact on the world.
What you are currently doing is meaningful for someone.
Now I want to welcome you to this little Star Trek meditation.
In this meditation we are imagining that the actions we as humans have are wise and resourceful towards the environment and towards science.
Take a deep breath with me and with the exhale let the tension that you might find within your jaw or your chest,
Your shoulders,
Your fingers ease just a little.
If you can,
Close your eyes and do this visualization practice with me.
You're living in a kind,
Mindful and innovation approach based world.
This world thrives on values and on motivation.
Rather than just motivation to achieve certain goals,
More on holding values that are aligned with the purpose of thriving and being curious as a human race.
Imagine living in a world where the main aim would be being a scientist.
Learning,
Feeling,
Expanding,
Pausing,
Taking breaks,
Taking time to reflect a world where belonging is one of the highest values.
Imagine in this world would be everything present within the normal work environment that you would wish for that would currently happen.
How would such a world look like for you?
What would be your ideas and innovations,
Products that you would be creating?
What would be the reason you create them?
What could be strategies to get closer to this purpose?
Be fancy.
Try to be impressive.
Try to access a space within you that dreams very vast and very big.
Like if no one had told you ever that's not possible but instead of saying that's not possible,
Finding a way to use the seemingly impossible and transform it into something possible.
What changes in your inner world when you switch from not possible to let's see what happens if I just switch one to two percent of the approach.
Now come back to the world that you live in that's driven on purpose and values.
What do you appreciate about this world?
If you're super fancy bring this curiosity and this feeling of living in a world of purpose of values into the real world.
That's where it starts.
As a little homework I would like you to do a little Google research and find projects that give you this feeling of purpose and maybe reach out to them.
Let's have a last deep breath together and with the exhale come back into wherever you are.
My name is Patrick Christopher Ehler and thank you for traveling with me.
