Monkeys Eating Ice Cream (Talk)
In a captivating and thought-provoking talk, Grace Terry, and Pablo Arellano, delved into the fascinating realm of life's unpredictable events and their origins in the quantum field of infinite possibilities. By challenging conventional thinking, they highlighted the profound impact that these surprising occurrences have on our lives, defying the limitations of our thinking minds.

You,
Why did you say monkeys eating ice cream?
Well,
You told me that the other day.
Yes.
Let me think about that.
Well,
You know like in quantum physics,
They say that when you observe,
The observer changes what's observed.
Yes,
The wave and the particle.
Yes,
So in a way when we look around,
We see the monkeys normally like playing around and like this,
No?
Like monkeys do.
Yeah,
But when we look away,
The monkeys are just sitting down eating ice cream.
We look back and then they're playing again.
No?
Yes.
So,
In a way,
The monkeys eating ice cream represent a field of possibilities.
So,
Imagine that you are making a choice in your life,
Okay?
In the moment that you observe the choice,
The path of that choice starts to manifest itself and it starts to become a particle.
It goes from this field of the monkeys being all of them eating ice cream to the moment that you observe them and they become normal monkeys.
Yes.
Okay?
But all these thoughts come and originate from our belief system.
Of course,
Because we have a bias.
Exactly,
We have a bias.
And that bias that comes from our family,
Generations,
DNA,
Education,
Ambience,
All these things,
Generate a form of seeing these monkeys,
How they are.
And we lose the ice cream from them.
Yes.
The ice cream is lost.
That's a pity.
So,
The idea is that every day we have thoughts,
Right?
Yes.
And all these thoughts are coming from,
Almost from our automatic mind that is palpitating from the normal monkeys.
Yes.
Because it's being fed by all these beliefs and automatic thinking and stress.
So,
The first thing for us to manifest the monkeys with ice cream is to really surrender all our beliefs to the universe and let the universe really decide for us what you were saying in the meditation.
Which is the highest version of possibilities.
Because it's not contaminated by biases.
Exactly.
It's not preordained thoughts.
Exactly.
So,
You lose the filter of your belief system and you let the universe surprise you.
And we were talking earlier about some of the surprises that we have had in our lives.
Yeah,
That we never expected.
It was even bigger than what we thought.
Yeah,
Unimaginable.
Yes.
Like,
I've had moments in my life that things manifested and now one came to mind.
Which one?
I was in my studio.
I was 23 years old or something.
And a friend came to do some work of recording to the studio.
Some oboe recording.
And then,
In that moment,
I had some music that I was creating.
And I showed it to him.
And he said,
Oh,
I'm going to direct the symphonic Carlos Chavez.
Carlos Chavez.
La sinfónica Carlos Chavez.
Yes.
Next,
In four weeks,
I'm going to be directing.
If you want,
I can play this symphony of yours that you're composing right now there.
Wow.
Like that.
Without even thinking about it.
That's beautiful.
I was just preparing something and then he heard it.
And then,
In that moment,
It manifested.
Remember when Drubal was telling us that the future comes from behind.
That's why we don't see it.
Yeah,
From the blind spot.
Yes.
From the blind spot,
The unimaginable things manifest.
And I think this is because when we're thinking of something too hard,
The manifestation is rugged.
It's stuck a little bit.
It's like you're in the mud.
Yeah,
Because you're in the effort.
And the real good manifestation is without effort.
That's why life can surprise us.
Yes.
So,
Imagine you're turning the corner.
And sometimes you have bad surprises and very good surprises.
But,
For example,
Like nine years ago,
My daughter was kidnapped in Mexico.
Yeah,
I know.
I remember that.
Yes.
And it was a huge suffering event.
Very big,
Very strong to me.
But now,
Because of this thing that was very unimaginable,
Now she lives in Vancouver.
She moved to Canada and she's super expanded,
Super happy.
She's having an amazing life.
Amazing life.
She found amazing people,
Beautiful people,
And everything turned around.
Exactly.
And we were talking about your leg,
No?
Yes.
And how,
If you wouldn't have had that accident,
You wouldn't be going to Glastonbury in a few weeks.
Exactly.
Because when I had the accident,
This is something amazing that happened to me.
It was 2020 in the pandemic.
I had a bus accident and my leg was broken in three pieces.
And so I had to rest besides the pandemic.
And I composed a record.
And I composed a song called The Return of Mary Magdalene that is here also in my inside timer,
If you want to listen to it,
Because it's a beautiful song.
It was completely channeled.
If I was in bed composing,
That song never came.
And because of that song,
Some people in London heard it.
And now I'm going to perform in Glastonbury Festival for the Solstice because of that song.
But how an unimaginable event transformed into another magical event.
And I would never,
Even in my wildest dream,
Think about going as an artist to perform at Glastonbury.
It's like,
Wow,
A dream come true for any artist.
Well,
Like my symphony.
I mean,
I'm 23 years old.
And the guy says,
And for,
You know how strange it is for a classical program of a symphonic to be changed?
Because he already had somebody in the program,
Written in the program.
So he changed the program for me to be in that moment to be performed.
So it's like.
.
.
It's so beautiful.
The universe is so beautiful.
When we really surrender to the trust of the universe and really like release all the belief system and really become one with that.
Some things happen that are like just almost like movies.
And you know,
When you surrender to like no expectations,
Not even having my own dreams.
It's like if you have a dream,
A better dream than the one that I have,
I am allowing that to happen.
I think to allow is like to flow with even greater dreams that the Creator can bring through us.
Because it's through us that this is happening.
Yeah.
And because I always talk about the bigger picture.
Like there's a bigger picture that we can't see.
For us,
It's impossible to see,
Even though that the present and the past and the future are all mixed together.
But that is in our origin,
In our essence.
They're blended together.
They're already contained.
Yeah.
But we're experiencing it in a linear way.
But the universe still has a big picture.
And you know how they say that the brain interconnection is what creates consciousness.
Yes.
That thousands and thousands of millions of connections that the brain has that creates consciousness.
Well,
Who has a lot of connections?
The universe.
I love thinking,
Yeah.
Who has all the connections?
Who has the most connections?
The universe has the most connections.
So it's really.
.
.
Here comes something very interesting.
Synchronicity.
Yes.
I think synchronicity and intuition plays a really big part of that.
Like to really connect to these higher connections of the universe when you follow the signs.
But not with the mind because sometimes.
.
.
No,
No,
No,
No,
Not with the mind.
Yeah,
You're talking about the intuition.
Yes,
And yeah,
The synchronicity.
When you connect to your intuition,
You are connected to the higher wisdom.
But to be connected to your intuition,
You have to lower the active mind,
The automatic thought,
And search some stillness,
Something deeper,
That inner temple that we've talked also.
Yes,
Yes.
That houses that stillness and that deeper essence so the intuition can be heard.
Because the intuition is very subtle.
Yes,
It is.
It's like a very whispering note in my meditation.
Yeah,
It is,
It is.
And I was thinking about that prior to my accident.
Remember,
We were in the LA airport that day.
We were performing in a private event of a friend in Los Angeles.
That day that I had the accident,
We were coming back to Mexico.
Pablo was going to Cancun and I was going to Mexico City.
And I felt,
I had the intuition.
So this is interesting what I'm going to tell you now.
I had the intuition that I didn't want to go,
But I had to go.
And there was something inside of me that I didn't feel right to go.
But I went because I had to perform in a wedding.
I had some contracts to deliver,
But I didn't want to.
I felt something weird.
And I said,
OK,
I'm going to go.
And that night I had the accident and that changed the whole course of my life.
And now I'm going to Glastonbury because of that.
So how accurate do you follow the ego intuition?
I don't know if you know.
There's the ego intuition and there's the God or the divine intuition.
We were talking about this Will Smith slap.
Wow,
Yes,
Yes,
Yes.
Totally.
We were talking and it's so interesting.
Yeah,
Like imagine the.
.
.
At the Oscar event.
Remember,
It was,
Everybody knew about that.
He's offended by the comment of this Chris Rock.
And then imagine another scenery where he goes in,
Inward to his inner temple.
He relaxes.
And then when he goes to get the Oscar.
To turn around.
Yeah,
Yeah.
And he would say something like.
.
.
You say it better.
Yeah,
Yeah.
Well,
I was telling to Pablo that instead of.
.
.
Imagine that was the most important night of his life to receive the Oscar for his amazing acting.
And instead of going and slapping Chris Rock in the face.
Because of the comment that he was making jokes of his wife's disease,
Which is alopecia.
So imagine instead of reacting,
Because he reacts.
He will go to his inner temple and then he will go wait.
And then when he received the Oscar,
He will say this is a dedication for all the people that has alopecia.
Because even though Chris Rock made a joke about the condition of my wife.
Without even knowing what it feels like to be with alopecia.
And thank you Chris for bringing that up.
Because we need to help a lot of people that has that disease.
We really need to do something about it instead of bullying those people.
Because they are having a hard time.
Especially as a beautiful woman as my wife is,
For example.
I'm losing the hair.
So this Oscar goes to all the alopecia people in the world.
Imagine that.
And everybody will be standing up.
And his turnaround,
Even his life.
Maybe he has a mission to help all these people.
Exactly.
We don't know how this will change his life and how it will turn.
Because it's inevitable to go with him.
Even if it's in the last 10 seconds of your life.
The last 10 seconds or the last 5 seconds of your life can be an eternity.
Because right now we have a perception of time in this wavelength of our brain.
But when we are in the last 5 seconds of our life,
That wavelength can become a dream.
And it can be another lifetime inside.
Maybe that's why when you have your last seconds,
You can see all the pictures of all your life.
Yeah,
But we don't know how you are going to perceive that.
I don't know.
It can be like a huge lifetime of perception.
You can go into your inner temple at any point in your life.
But the choice is,
If you listen to this intuition.
The thing is a choice.
Yeah,
And the quieting.
Instead of reacting,
You act from your inner temple.
Like,
No,
I'm not going to react and slap the face of somebody in front of the audience.
Like,
For example,
I'm going to go and take that inside and see the higher picture of what's going on.
So we were really passionate talking about that.
Because sometimes we can make choices that in the moment feel like the correct thing.
But if we change our wavelength and see the bigger picture,
We can really expand that.
And that is going to have a reverberation.
You know,
Like this movie,
Russell Crowe,
When he's a gladiator.
Oh,
What a movie.
And he's touching the flowers,
The lavender.
Yes,
The lavender.
And he says,
My actions will echo in the eternity.
So each action or each thing that you do has a reverberation,
A vibration,
An echo.
Yes.
And that echo can expand to.
.
.
Eternity.
Like,
Once I got a message in the phone from somebody that listened to my music.
Imagine just getting the message with the voice of the person that was listening to the music.
It wasn't a comment in the YouTube or whatever.
Yes.
So he,
This man from Chile,
Put my music to her mother that was in the deathbed.
And he started to play the music,
Started to play the music,
And she woke up.
And lived for two years more.
Wow.
And he was thanking me.
The power of music.
Thanking me that I was the conduit to work this vibration so she could,
Like,
Wake up and say goodbye and all this.
Goodbye,
Yes.
But what I'm trying to say is that I would have never imagined to get this message.
No.
It was unimaginable.
I mean,
There's no wealth that can fill that joy that I had.
Totally,
Totally.
And it's like our son,
Beloved one,
Remember I told you that a friend called me from the hospital because the father was dying?
And he couldn't die for days and days.
And they were ready,
Like,
He was really ill.
And he says,
I want to hear for the last time the song,
The beloved one of Grace and Pablo.
So they phoned me from the hospital.
And she says,
Can you please,
I'm going to pass the phone to my father.
And he's already with his eyes closed.
But can you sing the song?
Because he really wants,
He loves his wife so much that this song connects him with his wife.
So imagine I start singing the song with tears.
And I was like,
Oh,
My God,
You know,
And he passed three minutes after I finished the song.
So those things are like.
But you would never imagine to get this phone call.
No,
No.
This is the thing that the great things that happen in life,
You would never imagine them.
That's so beautiful.
That's a beauty of life.
It's like they're coming from a totally different dimension.
You know,
Like one comment I have on YouTube.
This woman,
They were having like a civil war in Africa.
Yes,
Yes,
Yes.
And this country was being bombed.
This country was being bombarded.
And the woman says in the message,
I will put your music,
You know,
In the loudspeakers.
And all the family,
We would hug,
Gather and hug together to resist the bombing with your music.
For your music to to to shelter us from the sound and the stress.
Oh,
That's going to make me cry.
I'm not imagining that.
No,
But it's.
But that's it.
I'm coming back to the imaginable.
You never thought about it.
No,
Never,
Never.
You could never,
Never even fathom it.
So.
You can really live miracles.
I mean,
You can really live miracles if you let go and allow the universe to take care of you.
And really,
If somebody wants to love us unconditionally,
Who it is,
Is the universe.
Because we're absolute miracle to be here.
Totally.
It's an absolute miracle that our everyday life hides.
And we we we were like,
Take everything for granted.
But there's absolutely nothing for granted.
Nothing,
Nothing.
Existence in this planet is a miracle and we can really see it because there's not no other consciousness around us.
Near,
Near,
Near us.
There's nothing around us.
So enlightenment is like never taking anything for granted.
That's enlightenment because you realize that the power of the presence that lives within us.
Totally.
So I think that's what Buddha and Jesus and everything like when they have this ha ha moment,
This epiphany of all the epiphany,
Like realizing that.
The unity of the now.
The unity of now and ever.
And this is where the stream,
The stream of the universe is coming from.
Like when we improvise.
Like yes,
Like the music we do.
It's flowing,
It's flowing and there's no no reasoning stopping it.
OK,
Sometimes you think a little bit,
Maybe,
But 99% of it is not thinking.
No,
At all.
One little one percent is thinking what the comments are saying.
Yes.
And I don't know what you listening to us right now.
What is this reverberating inside of you about the amazing moments that you never thought that will happen through you,
For you,
From your from from the existence,
From the universe?
Yes.
Yeah.
And each of us have these inimaginable moments in our life.
And when we see it from the now and we look back,
We see a very clear picture of why things happened.
The way they did.
Yes.
And then we say we have also like an understanding that there's a certain,
I will call it perfection to it.
Yes,
It is.
No?
Because.
.
.
Even the worst cases scenario.
Yes,
Because it's like this man was saying,
Well,
Some people say that the universe is exploring itself through our consciousness.
And we are like the eyes looking at the eye.
And this unity of co-creation is,
I think,
Is part of our purpose to be here.
To feel this.
I think feelings is part why we are here,
To feel.
Yeah,
But.
.
.
That's like the gift.
Yeah,
But what I mean is like to understand that we're the eyes of the universe and the universe also is our co-creator.
We are like the third eye of the universe.
Yes.
But going back to the monkeys is a little bit the idea that we want to manifest monkeys eating ice cream in our life.
And this is our unimaginable moment.
Yes.
Because we don't know.
Exactly.
And we can always see these monkeys around us eating ice cream if we let it open up to that field of imagination and trusting the universe that knows better than us.
Yeah,
And the universe can deliver us the wildest dreams for ourselves.
Like the amazing things that can happen to us if we really surrender to the field of possibilities.
Yes.
I would love to see the comments because.
.
.
Yeah,
Let me get closer.
Let's see what are you.
.
.
Because we really want to share this with you.
Chardonnay said they definitely do.
Yeah,
What are your thoughts about what we are talking about?
Because we co-create with you.
You hear us?
Yeah,
Can you hear us?
Yes.
I think so,
No?
Yeah.
So maybe you can read it because you are closer to us.
Ah,
There is more.
Yes,
Thank you.
So,
Maybe you can share with us one of these amazing things that happened to you that you never thought they were coming into your field of existence.
Hmm.
Hmm.
That's a.
.
.
Ah,
Thank you.
Mm-hmm.
Everything is possible.
Yeah,
When we least expect it.
One of the things that I had one day that I was meditating,
I received this voice.
Sometimes I hear this voice that calls me and it says,
Remember,
It's not from you,
It's through you.
That was it and I think that was one of the amazing messages that I received in my life.
Yes.
It's not from my ego.
Yes,
Yes.
It's not from my persona.
Yes,
Yes.
It's through me when I allow that to happen.
Yes,
The allowance and the surrendering and to have this gratitude when things show us the path because sometimes it's not clear for us.
Because the ego sometimes is very confused.
Yes.
Sometimes it's sad,
Confused,
Depressed,
Anxious and I don't know,
The universe doesn't have these problems.
Only us.
Yes.
So,
From his perspective or the universe has like a much more perspective of everything.
Well,
It has everything.
Yeah,
Everything.
And even the hardest parts of life,
It's so revealing.
I was remembering that when you have physical pain,
For example,
It's such a powerful teacher pain because it puts you in a presence mode.
No matter what,
When you're in physical pain,
There's no way out.
There is no escape.
And it makes you humble when you're in physical pain,
Like strong physical pain,
Like what I had when I broke my leg in three pieces and I stayed with this pain for eight months,
Like heavy pain.
And I used to grab that presence of the pain into my meditations and open to another realm.
Yeah,
Yeah.
Also when my daughter was kidnapped the same.
It's like I surrendered my fate,
Her fate to the universe and the universe had a beautiful response at the end.
She was freed,
Nothing happened.
Thank God.
So I think in one instant,
If we make a choice from the fear,
We can distort all the beautiful plans that the universe has.
So going back to Will Smith,
If he would have raised that moment to his highest self,
He would have expanded.
Wow.
It would be an astounding ovation.
Of course.
And we all have our Will Smith moment.
Oh yes,
Completely.
And it's not easy.
No,
Of course not.
It's not easy when you face somebody that you love that is bullying you.
Being bullied and attacked.
It's a real big challenge to overcome these feelings sometimes.
That's the work.
But love can win.
If you give it back to the universe and let the universe make the transformation,
You will see the monkeys eating ice cream.
I love that.
I love that.
Yeah,
I agree totally.
I agree totally.
So Will Smith should have seen,
If he chooses the other way,
He would see the monkeys eating ice cream.
Of course.
Which is the highest.
Yeah.
So guys,
We're very happy to end our talk here with the monkeys eating ice cream.
But enjoy.
Please,
After this talk,
Have an ice cream and try to see the monkeys eating ice cream in your present day.
Open to the field of possibilities.
And allow yourself.
Surrender to the experience of the universe.
Thank you.
Thank you so much.

I found this talk, and the metaphor of the monkeys eating ice cream, delightful! I especially appreciate the reference, albeit fleeting, to the persona, as there exists an unfortunate (imho) between persons and ego: as well as the description of what could have transpired if Will Smith (here, Everyman) has responded to Chris Rock from his higher Self. I would only add that there is no contradiction between the reality of concrete form and our perceptions of this level of material manifestation, on one hand, and on the other hand, the open and endless infinite possibilities available when we shift our perspective to a larger awareness of cosmic energies flowing through us. these are simply distinct facets of the nature of reality. To set them in opposition to each other, is black and white thinking, as common to human experience as having a Will Smith moment. May You Walk In Beauty P.S. This talk has also inspired me to request that someone play “Path of Angels” at my deathbed, if possible.
