Hello,

Welcome to this insight.

My name is Pablo Arellano and I would like to talk today a little bit about how the mind works and how sometimes we are very much into our own thoughts,

Thinking of the future and thinking about the past and not really acknowledging the present moment.

So one exercise that I do very often to become aware of our process of thinking is to count the thoughts.

So right now we're going to do this exercise so you start to become more aware of your thoughts and this will help you to start to find a space between the thoughts and to engage that silence that is in between the thoughts.

So first we're going to count the thoughts.

So for example if you hear something outside is one thought.

Then if you think you're thinking that that sound is interesting that's a number two.

And then if you're listening to my voice and you think about it it's number three like this.

So I'm going to play a little bit of music for you for like one minute and a half something like that and in that time you're going to count your thoughts and I will tell you to close your eyes and then you begin and then I will tell you to open your eyes and we continue the insight.

So please relax,

Get comfortable and close your eyes and we begin.

Hello you can open your eyes.

So how many thoughts did you have?

It's not important how many if you have a lot or you have a little bit.

What is important is that the number or the counting of the thoughts makes you aware of the thoughts that you're having.

So now we're going to repeat the same exercise but this time instead of counting the thoughts we're just going to observe them.

Watch them pass by in a very natural way just to become aware of them.

So I will count to three you close your eyes.

One,

Two,

Three.

You may begin.

Okay you can open your eyes.

Are you able to observe the thoughts without counting them?

This is a very good exercise to start to become aware of thoughts and how the thought process works.

Okay now we're going to do a third exercise.

We're going to place a simple mantra in between the thoughts.

So we're only going to say I am aware and then we just sit back and observe the thoughts.

Okay and then a little bit of time passes by and then again you go I am aware.

Okay very very very simple man.

Get comfortable,

Close your eyes and we begin.

I am aware.

I am.

I am aware.

I am aware.

I am aware.

Okay slowly you can open your eyes.

How did you feel?

Were you able to be aware of your thoughts?

Did you observe them?

So the exercise now is that during your day you use this short mantra with your eyes open and you use it very gently in your awareness.

So you become aware of your thoughts like if you were counting them.

And please tell me in the comments how you feeling.

Was it useful?

And if you're aware of your thoughts.

I thank you for being here.

I send many many blessings and I will meet you again.

Meet your Teacher
