Hi,

This is Ori Krug,

Board-certified dance movement therapist and drama and relationship expert.

Today,

I would love to guide you through a movement-based meditation on overcoming heartbreak and developing an embodied understanding that you never lost love.

A lot of times when we experience heartbreak,

We have a lot of questions and doubts come out.

Did they never love me?

Was this love or was it not?

If they loved me,

They wouldn't have left,

Right?

There are all these questions about if the love was really there,

If there was really love that was shared.

But I want to show you that you never lost love because the love you experienced through this relationship was always happening inside of you.

This is a concept and understanding that we must embody in order to really believe it.

So let's do a guided movement meditation to help you really feel that this is true.

To begin this meditation,

Find a position that feels supportive to your body right now.

You may choose to sit,

Stand,

Or lie down.

Once you feel settled,

Let's take two deep breaths together.

Breathing in and breathing out.

Again,

Breathing in and breathing out.

I'm going to invite you to close your eyes or lower your gaze and imagine or visualize the relationship that you just lost that made you feel so much love at one point or another.

And if it feels too painful or counterproductive to picture this most recent heartbreak,

You can envision a different relationship with a family member or a friend that helps you feel a lot of love.

As you're envisioning or focusing on these incredible times with this person that has allowed you to feel so much love in different parts of your body,

In your heart,

In your energy,

In your aura,

Start to notice what sensations come up.

What does this love feel like in your body?

You may feel tingles in a certain part of your body.

You may feel a lightness.

You may feel butterflies.

There's no right or wrong.

Just notice the sensations that come up.

And whatever sensations feel really pleasant to you right now,

I'm going to invite you to play with them and invite movement into them.

For example,

If you feel a lightness throughout your entire body as you tune into this feeling of love,

You might start moving different parts of your body in a very airy way,

In a way that is almost weightless,

That amplifies this feeling of lightness.

Another example is if you feel a pleasant buzzing energy through your body,

You may move with this by intentionally creating even more buzz in your body by shaking parts of your body like your arms or your legs.

Maybe even that turns into jumping or leaping around your space,

Which is how we can feel a lot of times when we're really in love.

Maybe the sensation of love to you feels like a really grounded,

Centered feeling in your heart.

So you might instinctually put your hands firmly on your heart.

Maybe even imagining putting more energy into your heart and maximizing the sensation.

These are just some examples.

There are no right or wrong ways to move with your sensations.

However you're moving,

You may repeat the same movements over and over again.

Or they may naturally shift,

Evolve,

Become bigger or smaller as you continue to follow your body's natural impulses to interact with these sensations.

The intention here is to really feel into the love and the sensations that create this feeling of love in your body.

If you find yourself going into thoughts of fear or grief because of your recent heartbreak,

Come back to the sensations of love.

Let go of the mind right now that says,

Oh we don't have that anymore,

Or it's lost.

And come back to the very real sensations that are not lost,

That are very present inside your body right now,

If you allow them to arise.

And as you are moving with these sensations of love,

I want to affirm to you that this is all happening on your own.

No one else is creating this for you right now.

Even as I'm guiding you,

I am NOT creating the sensation of love in your body.

You are.

You're not even creating it.

It's already inside of you,

And you're simply accessing the love that already exists inside of you.

You are love.

Nobody can take that away from you.

It's important to feel your grief,

Sadness,

Heaviness,

And all the feelings that come with heartbreak,

And to give yourself the time and space to do so.

But even as you do,

Take this experience with you,

And remember that you are love.

You never lost love.

The reason you felt so much love in your former relationship is because you were able to feel it being amplified inside of you through this relationship.

If there's one thing you can take away from this experience,

It's that you never lost love.

This person never took love away from you.

And if you felt it,

And you experienced it through this relationship,

Then it was real.

It was real for you,

And it is real.

With this embodied understanding,

Try to let go of the doubt and the questions,

And focus on the love that you are,

And give that love back to yourself as you continue to heal and grieve.

If you're still moving,

Start to slow down your movements gradually,

And come to an ending position that represents this love that you have inside of you,

And that you are.

Maybe that looks like hands on your heart,

Or a self hug,

Or something else.

And as you come into this position,

Let's take a deep breath in,

Breathing in and out.

Thank you for joining me in this meditation,

And until next time,

You deserve to feel all the love that you are,

And that you desire.
