Take a few gentle softening breaths with me as if inhaling the golden glow of a sunrise and exhaling the hush of twilight.
Let your body know it is safe to unfold here.
Let calmness seep into your bones like warm honey.
Now turn your gaze inward.
Notice what you are feeling,
Not the story or the reason,
But the pure unadorned sensation.
Where does this feeling live in your body?
Place your hand gently on that sacred place.
Is it a heaviness blooming in your chest?
A restless flutter in your belly?
And ache behind your eyes.
Perhaps it is sadness,
Longing,
Anger,
Confusion,
Overwhelm.
Frustration.
A kaleidoscope of emotions swirling within.
Whatever it is,
Let it be and simply feel its pulse,
Its tide rising and falling aching and yearning for your gentle attention.
Now.
Listen for the secret longing beneath this emotion.
The need.
What song does this feeling sing?
Perhaps it is a sad song,
A tender ache for a love that never arrived,
A garden you watered with hope,
Only to find the blossoms never bloomed.
Maybe it is anger.
Burning fierce and bright,
Because you offered your heart's wildness and were met by silence.
Left holding the pieces alone.
Perhaps it is the tangled confusion or quiet frustration of two good souls circling each other,
Unable to bridge the space between despite all their efforts.
Or it could be longing,
A soft persistent ache for understanding and affection that never embraced you.
Let these hidden needs surface,
Blooming like wildflowers after spring rain,
And let them know you see them.
If it feels right.
Answer back.
I understand your heart.
Its wild rivers.
Your needs are clear as water.
You tried and tried.
Your hands,
Your hope,
Your heart.
Holding on so tightly.
Feel the strength of your attachment as natural as roots clinging to wet earth.
Let yourself linger,
Knowing that letting go is not a race,
But a tender unfolding process.
It is human to fear the ending.
If you sense yourself gripping,
Holding on to what was.
Let your grasp soften just a fraction.
Like a leaf loosening its hold in the fall wind.
We'll move through this one gentle,
Honest step at a time,
Together.
Now I will leave you here for a few minutes to truly listen to the quiet poetry of your own heart.
To recognize your goodness.
Your sincerity,
Your honesty,
And respond to yourself with the care you need.
Perhaps you will imagine yourself wrapped in a cocoon of gentle rose gold light,
Shimmering around you as you sit beside your own heart,
A companion to its deepest needs.
Perhaps you need more time.
There is no hurry.
If you would like to linger here,
Listen in,
In this sanctuary of your own heart,
Your own love.
Do so as long as you wish.
And when you are ready.
Gently return,
Wrapping your arms around yourself in a soft embrace if that feels good.
Moving back into your life,
Carrying the jewel of your own goodness.
Moving with clarity and without the shadows of guilt or shame as you make your way through your relationship crossroads.
Return to this haven whenever your heart needs tending as you wander through this season of your life.
You are not alone.
