Only when one is connected to one's own core is one connected to others,
And for me the core,
The inner spring,
Can best be refound through solitude.
Anne Morrow Lindbergh.
I feel lonely around others when I am disconnected from myself or not acting authentically in social settings.
One of my daily rituals is a practice of morning and evening solitude.
In solitude I retrieve what is most important to me,
Authenticity,
Inner calm,
And a sense of purpose and belonging.
Solitude is an internal emotional reboot.
I often lie on the earth to feel its stability and stare at the sky,
Feeling the steady earth beneath you now,
Closing your eyes,
Placing your hands over your heart to show acceptance of your need for time alone.
You are not failing.
You are supported by solitude.
Give to your self through solitude.
Becoming aware of your authentic voice through moments of solitude prepares you for connection to others.
Meeting your unmet needs through self-support allows you to more fully accept others.
Do you feel invisible or unappreciated for the way you show up?
You are who you are,
What you need to be.
You are enough just as you are.
Taking a moment now to appreciate yourself and who you are.
Your wildness,
Wisdom,
Calm,
Passion,
Depth,
Loyalty,
Intuition,
Simplicity,
And complexity.
Now moving your hands gently to your throat area,
Bringing the color blue to mind as you focus on your throat.
Bring your breath awareness to your throat.
Reflect on how you express yourself.
Do you communicate with truth and care?
Do you use your words authentically?
This voice is valuable.
Appreciate it.
Connect with your inner voice of wisdom,
Authenticity,
With courage.
Now move your hands gently over your heart space again and listen quietly.
Breathe into your heart with deep,
Slow breaths.
Picture the color green there.
Reflect on your loving,
Compassionate,
Courageous,
And inspired heart.
You are supported.
You are worthy.
You matter.
How can you open your heart to express yourself from this place of safety,
Belonging,
And self-awareness?
Taking a couple more breaths in and out.
Open your eyes,
Ready to continue your day.
Connected and supported.
