Today we are going to use a technique called box breathing.
Let's find a comfortable position sitting upright but relaxed.
Close your eyes or soften your gaze.
Let your hands rest by your side and take a moment to settle into your body.
Just notice any tension and gently release it.
What we're going to be doing for this powerful breathing technique,
Box breathing or square breathing,
Is to breathe in for a count of four,
Hold for a count of four and then breathe out for a count of four and hold empty for a count of four.
It will help us anchor in the present moment and create space for clarity,
Focus and intention.
I usually suggest that you do breathe in and out through your nose but if that's uncomfortable you can breathe out through your mouth.
So let's begin.
Inhale for two,
Three,
Four and hold two,
Three,
Four and exhale two,
Three,
Four and hold two,
Three,
Four and again.
Inhale two,
Three,
Four,
Hold two,
Three,
Four and exhale two,
Three,
Four and hold two,
Three,
Four and again.
Inhale two,
Three,
Four and hold two,
Three,
Four and exhale two,
Three,
Four and hold empty two,
Three,
Four.
One last time.
Inhale two,
Three,
Four and hold two,
Three,
Four and exhale two,
Three,
Four and hold two,
Three,
Four.
Now let your breath return to its natural rhythm.
Feel the air flowing in and out without any effort.
Just notice a sense of calm and clarity that has settled within you and know that you can come back to this breath at any time.
You can do this even in a moment of stress.
No one's really going to notice that you breathe a little differently.
It is a great tool that you can take with you at all times and come back to if you need a moment of peace,
A moment of calm or a little more energy.
Bye for now.
