Welcome to the Preparing for Sleep Meditation.
In this meditation,
We're going to go ahead and lie down,
Hopefully in your bed,
Preparing for sleep.
Go ahead and close your eyes,
Take a deep breath in,
And exhale out with a loud noise,
Whoo,
Releasing.
Another deep breath in,
Through your nose,
And releasing with an audible sound through your mouth,
Whoo,
And one last deep breath in,
Exhale out,
Whoo,
Allowing your body to relax.
If you don't already have your legs straight,
Go ahead and let your legs be straight.
Allow your hips to open,
However it is that they want to open,
And just imagine yourself rocking yourself to sleep with your feet,
Pointing your feet forward and then flexing them back,
Pointing them forward and then flexing back,
Pointing them forward and then flexing back,
And just allowing yourself to rock this inner child that is you back and forth,
Letting it know you're getting ready for bed.
You can stop the rocking and just put your arms out,
Allowing them to fall deep into the bed,
Noticing your mind,
Your head,
And allowing that head to fall deeper and deeper into the pillow,
Relaxing your ears and your eyelids,
Relaxing your jaw and all your facial muscles.
How soft can your face be?
Noticing that with every breath you take in and out,
You are falling deeper and deeper into relaxation,
And it's safe to relax.
You did a beautiful job today.
You opened your eyes,
You lived your life.
It is safe to let go,
To allow your body to rest and relax and reset for tomorrow.
Go ahead and wrap your arms around yourself and let your body know that you are thankful.
Thank you body for another amazing day.
Please rest,
Relax.
You are worthy and deserving of it.
Thank you.
Noticing your shoulders fall deeper into the bed,
Dropping down,
Your chest becomes light,
Your breath soft,
Bringing your awareness to your stomach and to your hips,
Letting them know it is safe to let go,
Bringing that relaxation all the way down your legs,
Almost like warm honey going through your legs,
Feeling very relaxed,
Falling deeper and deeper asleep.
You did a beautiful job today.
Your heart is open,
Your mind is calm,
Your body is relaxed,
And now it is ready to fall deep,
Deep asleep,
To regenerate,
To reset with a full,
Deep night's rest.
