Hello and welcome to this post-work day transition into home meditation.
I find this to be one of the most challenging times when you're leaving work,
Whether you're at home or actually at an office,
And you've got to transition to home life and to really compartmentalize the two pieces and allow whatever that happened during your work day to stay there so that you can come home,
Be present with your family,
Your friends,
Whatever other things you have in your life.
And that's what we're going to focus on in this meditation is to release and let go so that we can then be open and allow for all of the other parts of our life.
So take a moment here,
Maybe you're sitting in your car about to drive home or you just closed your laptop for the day and you are ready to make that transition to home life,
Whatever that might look like for you.
So take this time here to just be present,
To slow down,
To be where you are.
And take this time to connect with your breath as we always do in the beginning of a meditation,
To settle us down,
Slow down our heart rate,
Slow down our brains,
And focus on our breath.
And as you do this,
Things that were happening throughout the day might be cycling in your brain or things you need to do when you get home are going to show up for you.
But what I want you to do in this moment is to picture those things,
Whatever happened,
Whatever is going to happen,
As just clouds in the sky.
And there's a beautiful gentle breeze and all of those thoughts are in the clouds.
And as the breeze blows by,
Those clouds keep on moving.
Because now is not the time to focus on those.
Those things will be there today,
Tomorrow,
The next day.
But all you have is right now.
And in order to let go,
You need to be present with the now.
And as you focus on your breathing and just listening to your breath,
Feeling your breath inside your body,
Whatever helps you connect the most,
Just be here.
Let's take a moment to do some heart activation breathing.
So breathing in,
And as you're breathing out,
Feel as though you're breathing through your heart.
We know we can't actually breathe through our heart,
But as you're bringing in the air and the oxygen,
Allow it to fill up your heart.
And then as you breathe out,
Opening up your heart and allowing all of that goodness to just come out through you,
Through your heart.
So connecting your breath with that movement of energy and love through your heart.
Breathing in,
Holding that in your heart,
And then breathing it out,
Sending that love out to the world.
Connecting in with who you are.
Be here in this present moment.
And if your mind starts to wander,
Know that that is okay and totally normal.
Just bring yourself back to your breathing and connecting to your heart.
Just refocus and reset.
Our minds are never completely quiet,
But through meditation we can learn how to focus.
And that's why we use our breath so much,
Just to focus.
Give our mind something to focus on.
Calming down our bodies,
Calming down our stress levels,
Our cortisol levels.
Bringing us back to a grounded,
Neutral place.
And we're gonna end with one other quick breathing exercise that I love to do and you can take with you whenever you need to.
We're going to breathe in for four and out for six.
And we'll do that a few times.
So breathing in,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Breathing out,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five,
Six.
Breathing in,
Pause for a moment.
Breathing out.
Breathing in,
Hold breathing out.
One more time.
Breathing in,
Breathing out.
Beautiful.
And that is a great breathing exercise to calm your body,
Calm your mind,
And send you into this next transition of your day.
Knowing that you are going home and you can leave behind all of the things that have happened today,
Knowing they will be there for you tomorrow.
And you can now go in with focused,
Calm energy to be with your family,
Be with your friends,
Do whatever things need to be done now in your home life.
Thank you so much for taking this time for yourself,
For being here to transition your day from work to home.
Wherever you are,
Whatever you are doing,
I am sending you so much love and light.
