All right, Well, Welcome to the discovering your purpose topic for today. I'm excited to have you all here. I'm excited to have this conversation. So how I really like to begin all of my talks, All of my lives is saying, Tell me what brought you here. Why are you excited to be here? I think Venus said she's got her, She's ready to take notes. So tell me what brought you here, What drove you to come to the session today. And let's let's really begin the conversation there. It's one of my favorite places to start. So while you guys start in the chat, I'm just going to set myself up. And again, If you've never been on one of my lives, I do use the whiteboard. I love the whiteboard just so it's not just a it's not just me talking visually, It's just a nicer thing to look at. So I do like to use the whiteboard. So I'm going to write on here, The topic of our talk today. So anyone who pops in late knows what we're talking about, And then give you guys a chance in the chat to just tell me what brought you here, What brought you to this call today. I thank you all for being here. I really do. Insight Timer is a beautiful community. It's one that just has brought me so much joy and happiness. I've been working to really teach and share and speak and talk for a number of years now. And I tried doing it on my own. I tried doing it through social media, And nothing ever aligned or felt right. But my very first live here on Insight Timer, I had almost 500 people on the live and it just all I did was put up a topic and put up a talk and it just filled my heart so so much that I keep coming back. I can't stay away, I keep coming back. So the topic of today is discovering your purpose in 2022. Whether you take this information and use it for this new year, It is January of 2022. Or you take this information and you use it and at some other time throughout the year, This is relevant for any time throughout the year. So I'm going to come back into the chat and see where we're at. Katrina, I have been strongly seeking my purpose the last four months, The past four months, I just finished claim your power and went to be intentional about what's next beautiful. And word of warning, Finishing claim your power is really powerful. And sometimes you do need like to kind of sit back and reset a little bit. That's kind of how I was and then you kind of go into what's next. And really just following not sure where to go from here. That's perfectly okay. And you're gonna you're gonna figure that out. Leslie says I'm seeking direction and purpose. I want to know how to discover my purpose, Seeking authenticity and all that I do. I love that word authenticity. I have been searching for years and just finished claiming your power while you guys have you guys really took my recommendation. I am so excited. I hope you guys got a ton out of it. Actually claim your power is a huge reason I am on insight timer really pushed me to do more. So that's kind of what got me going. And then I will say I went through a little bit of a long because I was like, What's next? And I just kind of kept following. So we'll talk about that. I want to make sure I'm staying in alignment. Yes, We're going to talk a lot about alignment today. Yes, Dave is still working through the book. That's amazing, Dave. These lives augment the book. I love that. I have claimed my claim your power. I'm gonna turn my heater off. It's drying out my throat. What is claim your power claim your power is a book by Mastin Kip. Yeah, I have to turn my heater off as like drying out my throat. It's a book by Mastin Kip. It's a 40 day journey. It's a lot of work. It will take you very deep. Yeah, So that's it. Mastin Kip claim your power. He's a trauma. He talks a lot about trauma and really helps you work through your trauma. And the part of the book that he really says you need to do this 40 days in a row. You need to do this for 40 days, Maybe taking one or two days off is okay. But really doing the work, Doing it in those 40 days makes a difference. And I did it. I did it 40 days straight. I don't think I took the day off. So it's things that help you find your life's unique purpose. It just helps it for me. It helped drive out a lot and it helped me take more action is what I found. I wonder if this is what was a source for your enthusiasm. I like to think my enthusiasm was always there, But I think it gave me that little kick in the butt. I've always been a very enthusiastic and I want to use the word hyper, But that's not the right word. Energetic person and reading that book brought that back out within me. Yeah. Tanya's here. She never joined one of our lives. She loves my vibe so far. Thank you Tanya. I'm curious about my purpose. Awesome. Okay. And Leslie talks about her career of 32 years fails to fill your cup. Looking for finding a purpose that aligns with who I am. Just staying for the known and source of income. Okay, Awesome. My throat's really dry from having that heater turned on. Oh my goodness. Okay. I will talk a lot about, I talk a lot about work life. That was a big push for me in my life of finding work-life balance. So I will talk a lot about career and work and finding your purpose. But what I want to share first is a lot of you have said, I'm here to find my purpose. I want to discover my purpose. I don't know what my purpose is. What I want to say is, And we will talk a lot about inner being, Your soul, Whatever you want to call it. It's that inner knowing, That inner guidance within you. Your inner being knows what your purpose is. And I reference a lot of Abraham Hicks. I'm a very big Abraham Hicks follower. I believe in what they speak and they share. But I feel like I take a practical approach and bring it into our world as it is. So I want to talk about your inner being knows your purpose. So deep down inside of you, Your purpose doesn't need to be found. Oh, Damn heater knows your purpose. It knows your purpose already. And you know how your inner being knows your purpose. Your inner being knows your purpose because your life experiences have taught you what you want and don't want. Teach you. So your life, Your inner being knows your purpose and your life experiences teach you about what you want and don't want. And you guys can always put in the comments. Anything that comes up, Any questions that pop up for you. So what I want to share with you to begin with is, You know your purpose. And what we're going to do today is we're going to draw that out. It's in there. And you live these experiences. So I believe, As Leslie said, You've had a career of 32 years and it's no longer filling your cup. Did it fill your cup 30 years ago, 20 years ago, And now life experiences have caused you to want something different in life. And maybe it never filled your, Maybe it filled a little bit of your cup or filled this or filled that. So every time we have a life experience, And this kind of goes back to like a regret of like, I can't believe I did this or this took so long for me to get here. We also can't look at life that way. We have to realize that every single day we are having a life experience. It never did. Okay. So we are constantly having life experiences that are teaching us what we want and what we don't want. And when we can reflect in that way, Then we can say, Oh, I'm going to go more towards this end. So knowing a your inner being knows what you want and a lot of times, No, Almost all of the time, It's your ego. It's your fear. That's going to keep you from actually going for the things that you desire. So your fear and ego stop you. Limiting beliefs stop you. And limiting beliefs come from life experiences. We experience something, We see something in life, And then we think, Oh, That's just the way it is all the time. So we need to work through our fear, Our ego, And our limiting beliefs in order. I'm just going to write that down here. Now our fear, Our ego, And our limiting beliefs to truly live authentically. And it's hard to live authentically because a lot of times living authentically feels like we're going against the grain of everybody else in our lives, Of society of doing something different. And that's okay, Because that's where we're supposed to be. We're not supposed to be like everybody else. COVID has emptied my cup. COVID emptied a lot of cups. Nellie, Let me be honest with you. I totally understand. Maybe it emptied it so it can fill it with the good. Absolutely. And that's a big piece of it too. So I want to go back to this what you want, What you don't want. So, But I wanted to start here. And just because I think this is a really beautiful basis to start on. So our inner being knows what we want, Because we've lived life experiences and we put them there. We've, Whether we consciously or subconsciously, All right, I need to take a big breath today. All right. Whether we've consciously or subconsciously done them, Right? Because we've experienced things. But what we need to do is we've, They're likely mostly sitting in our subconscious. So we're not really thinking about it. So we're spending more time in the, I want something different. I want to discover my purpose. Well, That's great. You've asked the question. Now let's go deeper. You don't need to keep asking the question you've asked it. You've asked it. The universe is like, I heard you. All right. Let's well, Let's discover your purpose. I'm going to start giving you experiences that are going to show you what you want and what you don't want. So what I want you to do is really think about things that you've experienced that you no longer want in your life anymore. So if you have a piece of paper and you're writing down here and you're right, I don't want, Don't want, Want. So put some things in the comments. You know what? No, I want you to tell me what you don't want. We're going to start there. Don't worry about the ones. They're going to be there. I kind of got ahead of myself. Tell me the things in your life that you're like, I don't want this anymore. And then let's just see where we stand. Yeah. Oh, See, This is why I love the chat. Sometimes we need the change. So Brittany says money, Money being you want more money. So what you don't want, You no longer want to live without money, Imbalance, Arguments. So we've got imbalance, Arguments, Worry, Loss. This is great. This is great. You guys heaviness, Lethargy. Oh, Mental, Emotional chaos, Meeting girl clubs, Stress, Backbiting politics, Worrying about the future, Self doubt, Playing small, Being ignored. Look how easy this was for you guys. I don't want to be ignored. So I'm running out of room on the board, But you guys get the point. This is great. You guys know what you don't want in your life anymore. You don't want to be alone. You don't want stuckness to not feel enough feeling anxiety. And this is beautiful. All right. So you don't want these things. So we can look at these things when you think about these things. So when you're thinking about imbalance in your life or arguments or worry or loss or being ignored or emptiness, All of those things, What does that feel for you? What does that bring up for you? You're, I'm going to say you're likely feeling resentment, Anger, Don't want to live under control and want to enjoy my freedom. Worry about my kids and granddaughter, Not worthy. Right? You're like, What did I do wrong? How did I get here? How did I get to being feeling lost? How did I get to this imbalance? Why am I always arguing? It doesn't feel good. What I want to say first is these, All of these things that you don't want in your life more that you want to move on from have happened for a reason so that you could realize you want something else. So what's the opposite of imbalance. If you no longer want imbalance in your life, You want balance. If you no longer want arguments, You want peace. If you don't want worry, Let's say you could use peace for that as well. You want, Let's do, We'll do calm. It doesn't matter. It's awesome. It's you want calm. You don't want to worry. You want peace. Maybe clarity is a good word for worry. Feeling lost. You want to feel seen. I don't know what the word, I'm struggling on a word here. You want to be ignored. You want to be seen. So what are some things if you don't want to feel imbalanced, You want to feel balanced. If you don't want arguments, You want calm. If you don't want to worry or have self doubt, You want peace and clarity. If you want to feel lost, You don't want to feel lost. You want to feel I'm really, The words are not coming to my brain right now. Happiness, Grounded, Understood, Trust as the opposite of worry. Yeah. So I mean, It's all semantics, Right? Support it. I like that word. Support it. So all of these life experiences that have caused you to say, I don't want this are a beautiful representation of, I want this. So where are you spending more time? Are you on the don't want side or are you on the want side? I guarantee you many of you and myself included, Spend a lot of time here. And we need to spend more time here and saying this experience caused me to want to feel seen and helped me realize that I want to feel seen. Hi, Buddy. Make sure you're going to keep them out. Can I say hi to make sure you close the doors? Is he going downstairs with you? Okay. All right. So which, Which are you looking at? Belonging, Connecting to community, Support it, Vulnerability, Self love. I want courage. Awesome. Look at those things. And then remember this life experience, Whatever is causing this is also causing this. This is discovering your purpose. Every time you have an experience of what you don't want, You get an experience of what you do want. And your goal is to spend more time here than you are here. That's not to spend no time here. It's to spend more time here. And if you're spending more time saying, Not saying, Oh, So tired of arguing. How do we stop arguing? How do I find more calm? How do I find more calm in my life? How do I find more support? If we start asking those questions, Ask those questions. You know, There's a lot of personal development folks out there and I can't, I don't want to say a name because I don't want to give the credit to the wrong person. But it's the quality of the questions. What questions are you asking yourself? Is it how do I stop doing all the don't want? Or how do I do more of the what I do what? And that's the question you want to ask yourself. And I'm going to write that on here. I really have to push hard to erase. That's making my board fall over. How does this feel for all of you so far? Like, How is this settling in for all of you? I want to know. I want to know where you're at right now. And I'm going to write this question on the board so you have it. Is ask, How do I get more of what I want? Not, How do I stop getting what I don't want? How do I get more of what I want? And I say a lot of this because, You know, We talk a lot about jobs and careers and work and how we're not fulfilled in the work that we do. But what I want to say is sometimes it's not necessarily getting up and leaving the job. But maybe in that job, You can find more of that balance. You can find more of that support to get you through until the next day. Because if you're simply just running away thinking, I'm just going to go get a new job and start a new career, Or I'm really lost, I don't know where to start, You're going to continue to feel lost. So how can you be where you are right now in this moment? Be where you are and start getting more of what you do want without simply just getting rid of what you don't want. How can you get more of what you do want right here, Right now in the situation that you're in? So I think that that's even adding on to that question is how do I get more of what I want right now? Right now? That's a really important part of this question. So I'm trying to, I'm trying so much to connect. I want courage. Okay, Hold on, We got there. I'm definitely looking at what I don't want that. And that's beautiful. We don't want to ignore what we don't want what we want to say. So I want, You know, I'm going to give you an exercise to walk away with it's doing those two columns. Here's all the things that I don't want. So on the other side of the page, What does that look like? What is that one column for you? Specifically? I'm trying so much to connect. So what do you mean connect? I'm not sure what that means. Spot on for me. Good. I'm fully engaged in writing my own notes. I love it helps for one to be aware of how one's thoughts and how those absolutely spend more time on with yourself. Yes. All right. So I've been reading so many books lately. And I'm starting to really see this common theme through these personal development books and I'm reading and I'm getting really kind of off the wall things that I'm just like finding at a book sale. I'm like, Oh, I've never heard of this person. But this is a really good title. Let me just see what this is about. What I'm really finding is there. And I know there's there's more inside of me to kind of flesh this out. But it's self awareness. We need to take time to actually listen to ourselves and listen to our own emotions. So self awareness is huge. Be honest with yourself and be honest with your emotions. No, I just lost my lid. No, What is happening in your life? Be aware. You've got to be aware and you've got to go internal. This is not external. And you've got to shut out the outside world for a little for a, You know, A short amount of time. This isn't saying ignore everything that's going on ignoring other people, But you have to have time for you. You've got to make time for yourself. So just like I said in the beginning of this talk, When I was talking about who I am and where I've come from and what I share, You know, I was talking about this time with my husband where he was going through this really hard time and I was spending so much energy. How do I make you feel better? How can I make you happy? How can I do this? But by doing that, I was getting so far disconnected from myself that what I had to do is I had to focus on only me. I stopped asking him how he was feeling. I stopped asking him if he needed anything. He was I couldn't do it anymore. I didn't have the energy to work with someone who was victimizing themselves anymore. And I had to focus on me and it felt really selfish and it was really hard and I had to wake up in the morning and I had to think, Don't ask him how he is. How was your sleep? How was your night? Was it good? Did you do okay? Are you feeling any better? Are you worried? I couldn't, I stopped asking him altogether. I don't even think he noticed to be completely honest with you. But I had to stop asking because it just, It wasn't serving me. So making time for yourself is going to be key. And if that means maybe you're not communicating with a few people right now and you're just like, I just need time alone. And if that hurts them, Oh, Well, You are not responsible for somebody else's emotions and feelings. So unfortunately, I've realized that I will not find what I want by staying. I'm looking at taking several months sabbatical to try and sort these out. That's beautiful, Leslie. So you are taking action. So you're looking at doing something and saying, What can I do to sort this out? Because we don't want to simply just run away from things. We want to have a reason. Yeah, Then that's beautiful as you've got to do what works for you. I just realized, I was just realizing it's looking for the answers everywhere else, But not yes. And the, That's what I said in the very beginning is your inner being knows what you need. You will never hear your inner being. If you're not self aware and you're not taking time for yourself, All you're going to do is you're going to listen to everything that's outside of you. You're going to listen to everything that's outside of you. And that's, That's not where the answer is. The answer is in here. And when you feel so unbelievably confident, When you trust yourself, And you feel confident, Even if it's scary, When your ego tries to step in, You are so self aware, You know exactly what you want, It's going to increase your confidence, And it's actually going to help you make that decision. And that's going to be an aligned decision. That's going to be an aligned action. That's how you discover your purpose. You discover your purpose by taking aligned action. When you take aligned action, And sometimes it'll work out. And sometimes it'll just be to help you gain more clarity. That's what it's about. I was talking with someone the other day, Someone that I work with, And she said, She's, We work for a different company. She works full time somewhere else. And then I work part time somewhere else. But then we also work remotely for this other company together. But we've known each other for a very long time. But she was telling me how she was looking for. She's like, I'm looking for another job. I'm not sure what to do. It's just things just aren't working out. I didn't get the job that I just recently applied for. And I, You know, She even said she was every time this has happened to me, It's always worked out better in the end. I said, That's it. So she took action, She applied for these jobs, None of them work out, But there's something else coming. There's something else there. So what that did is that helped her, Your aligned actions. If they're aligned, And by aligned, I mean, They feel good to you. They're aligned, It feels like the right decision, You've listened to your inner being, It's like a giant heck yes. Like, I just got to do it. I'm confident. This is what I need to do. This is my next step. That's an aligned, Inspired action. Your aligned action is going to give you more clarity. It might not give you the desired outcome you think it's going to give you. But it's going to give you more clarity. It's going to put stuff in that don't want column so you know more of what you do want. That's what's going to happen. And that's, That's actually very even shared with her. You know, When I left my full time job in 2018, It looked very abrupt from the outside world. I think it might have maybe it didn't, I don't know. But my perception is that it might have looked really abruptly Oh my god, What is she going to do? Where is she going to go? But I had to, I had done all of these things taken all of this action. It's when my meditation practice started. It's when I started learning about personal development and manifestation and journaling and I became so unbelly. I spent almost six months probably really more like five before the decision actually came up like journaling, Meditating, Becoming so self aware. This was the same time where I had to tell my husband like I can't babysit you anymore. I didn't tell him that I just stopped doing it. I can't babysit you anymore. And I focused on myself. And I became so self aware of what I want and what I don't want the actions I wanted to take and how I didn't know how I was going to get there. But I knew what I wanted. And I took so much action. I went on the interviews, I interviewed for these jobs. And I started seeing opportunities, Because when we're so closed off and thinking this is and I spent a lot of time saying the only way for me to get work life balance is to start my own business and do this thing. And that was that was all I saw. I had these blinders off. But through my meditation through that time, I would take 3040 5060 minutes in the morning, Just for me, I was journaling, I was meditating. I was going internal and just listening. And it was hard. A lot of emotions came up, A lot of feelings came up. But I had to be completely honest with myself about how I was feeling and what I was going through. And all of that just brought me more clarity. I started seeing more opportunities. So I was like, Oh, Maybe this, This work from home thing that I really want to do this business I want to do isn't exactly right for me. Okay, Well, What else is out there. And it really helped me kind of start to see the opportunities. I interviewed for these jobs, I didn't get a single job, I ended up leaving my job and resigning and not knowing what was coming up. But it was all a really beautiful, Beautiful and chaotic all at the same time. And that's not the end of the story. That's truly the beginning of the story, Because I started to see there's other ways and there's other opportunities. But all of that action didn't get me to my desired goal. But what it did is every single aligned action brought me more clarity. And I'm like, Oh, I want some of this. I didn't like that. Okay, But I want more of this. So I continually am putting more into the one column. And I get more and more clear on what I actually do want in life. Because what I think what I want now is probably going to be different 3612 months from now because I'm going to have more experiences that are going to cause me to create more clarity and get more and more clear about what it is that I want to what my purpose is. So I thought I was, I wanted connections, We are told we need that. But I'm realizing I'm enjoying spending the hectic time and probably more going inward. Yes, I accept that about myself for as long as it takes. Maybe it is the new me. Maybe this is just you for right now. The only thing that we can be sure of that change is always going to happen. So maybe, Is it Ama, It's an M. Ama, Maybe right now, You need to be internal. And that's all that matters. You don't need to be worrying about what's next. Like, Am I never going to connect to people? Am I doing it wrong? No, What feels good to you do that now. What feels good to you do that now, Knowing that that's not forever. That is just for right now. The only certainty we have in life is that things are going to change. We're going to have experiences and we're going to grow. If we were meant to stay stagnant, Life will be pretty darn boring. But we're constantly having different life experiences that are causing us to want more. And it's okay to desire more. That was one thing that I really had to learn. I was taught, And one of my limiting beliefs was be happy with what you have. You don't need to ask for more. But what I've learned since really learning about manifestation of personal development of life is going to always cause you to ask for more. Life is always causing you to ask for more. And that's how you grow. And that's how you become a better, Stronger person. That's how you improve. That's how you move along in life. That's what this is about. My life is about me now. I live a totally different lifestyle and it's for the better. Not sure what to do about myself. It's increasingly needing to be more social. And you don't have to do what's, If somebody's asking you to do something and it doesn't feel good to you, You have the right to say no. And if they don't like that, That is not your problem. It might hurt. It might be hard. It might be scary. But you have to do what's right for you. And for nonce, It sounds like you're ready to go and be on your own and be out in the world again. We are all at different spaces, Different places. I love being out and about now. My husband and I have a much better relationship than we did a few years ago. That was a growing time for us. We both had to go internal. And then we have times where we're together and we're spending all this time together and it's really great and it's exciting and it's awesome. But we still have separate time in the morning where we spend about an hour in the morning. He goes and does his thing. I go and do my thing and then we come together. For a while during the pandemic, I was perfectly happy not being around people. I was perfectly happy working from home with the job that I was at. And then I got a new job. And now I am loving the new job that I have because I'm constantly around people. I'm in an office. I'm sitting at a front desk and greeting people and saying hello. I'm saying hi. And it is the perfect space for me right now. So what is right for somebody right now might not necessarily be what's right for you. So A, We have to let other people do what's good for them. And we can't say go do this, Go do that. But we also have to do what's right for us and knowing that that's right for us. So I'm reading this book from about some author Byron Katie. My friend has talked about her for years and years and years. She very much knows her work. She uses her work and her coaching. And the one line that I read about, I mean, A lot of it is resonating. It's really amazing. When something's going on, It's either your business, Someone else's business, Or she uses the word God's business. So you could put universe external where you have no control over it. So when you're looking at something, Is this something are you in your business? Are you in someone else's business? Or are you trying to fix in God's business? Yeah, That's the book Loving What Is. I don't know if she has other books, But that's the one. Yeah. So we so as I say this, We're constantly always being self aware. Your self awareness doesn't mean you need to be internal all the time. But you need to be aware enough that you're like, What's going on with my emotions? How am I feeling right now? And what is what is going on with me? That's what's coming out of all of the things that I'm reading and learning about right now, Is taking a pause to stop and say, I feel angry. I feel why am I feeling this? And where am I feeling this in the body, Resetting myself and starting over? What does it take to have aligned action? Sounds like courage, Facing fears moving forward regardless and more. Yes. So having aligned action, So we can go there. So having aligned action, That's a really beautiful question. So also, A, Respecting where other people are. Everybody's in a space of wherever they are right now. And we have to respect that. And anytime you're listening to me, Especially to me, I'm going to say this because this is how I feel about what I teach and share. When I teach and share, I don't expect 100% of what I share to resonate with you. I expect pieces. And if something doesn't resonate, And you're like, I don't like that, Then don't do it. I would never force anybody to do something as a coach or a teacher and say, You have to do it x, Y, And z way. No, These are things I've done. This is what I'm sharing with you. If this feels good for you, Go do this exercise. If this doesn't feel good to you, Go do something else. That's that's the purpose. And I say that because that's how I come from a place of teaching. Do what feels good, Throw out the rest. And I think we can take that into anytime we're learning from somebody. Anytime we're learning from a teacher knowing if it doesn't feel good to me, Just because they're saying it worked for them, Or this is the way to do it. If it doesn't feel good in my soul, In my gut, If I'm not like, Yeah, Let's do this, Then don't do it. It's not going to work for you. If they say do x, Y, And z, And these are the results you're going to get, But you do x, Y, And z, And you're totally and completely out of alignment, You are not going to see the results because you are out of alignment. Someone else's business or God's, Isn't it? I read that and I was like, That's amazing. So when you're having an experience or you're having thoughts or those fears or egos, You're like, I'm in my business, Someone else's business or God's business, And then go back to your business and throw the rest away because you have no control over how somebody else acts or how somebody else feels. And there's a lot of external factors in the world that you don't have control over. So stop trying to control them. The only thing you have control over is yourself. Yeah. Yeah, It's really good. I definitely recommend the book. I'm not through it. So, But it's, And I know her work and I know my, My dear, Dear friend who really does this work. She's an amazing coach and amazing teacher, And she's incredible. So aligned action. How do you know it's aligned action? You learn, You learn by taking actions, Aligned action. I probably didn't need to erase the beginning part, Huh? Aligned action. Listening in internal listening to yourself. So I woke up this morning. So I'm going to put down here meditation, Quiet time. This is when we're not, When we're taking aligned action, We're not talking. So a lot of people saying there's, There's prayer, Right? There's asking for something, There's praying and there's, There's, Right? But then there's also that quiet time of where we're just listening. So aligned action comes from inspired thoughts. So this morning I woke up and my youngest lost his small, We call them small screen, The phone, The iPad, Those screens. So she lost small screens for the weekend. It was, It was a rough, It was a rough night last night. Parts of the night were rough. And I woke up this morning. So my older son lost his small screens the other day. And I just think being inside is really starting to get to them. Being inside, Wearing masking in school, They're, They're feeling a lot of like a lot of heightened anxiety in their little bodies. Anyway. And I said, They need more fresh air. That's the, I know what they need, But he lost his small screens and he was just talking and playing. And he said, Mommy, Will you play a game with me? Like had he been on his screens? He would have never asked me to play a game with him. So this morning, And this was earlier, It was maybe a week or two ago. And then my other one lost his screens. I'm like, Okay, He's going to need more one-on-one time. He's going to need more playtime today. We're not going to have that just go sit on your screen today. Which is fine, But it is very challenging. So this morning I woke up and this is where I, Where this is where inspired, Inspired thoughts create aligned action. So when you get those little inspired thoughts and you're like, Ooh, That would be really cool. And then what do we do? We allow our fear and our ego to step in to tell us we're not good enough. So I had an inspired thought this morning and it just kind of popped into my head. I was like, Oh my gosh, What if we did like a screen free weekend and we did either no screens at all or no small screens. And we just know like adults, Adults as well. And I'm like, Wow, That would be really cool. And then what happened was all of the doubt, Like, Oh my God, Could we do that? Well, We use our phones for this, Or could we use some, Some of our phone time to do that? And I'm like, Ooh, I'm starting to talk myself out of this inspired thought. That's like, Oh, If we do this and I take this action, That's an aligned action. I don't have to take the action right away. I'm not like, Ooh, Yeah, We're going to do a screen free weekend. It's going to start now. No, But that thought's now in the back of my head of like, Ooh, That might be cool to do. I wonder when we could do that. And guess what? Another inspired thought is going to come eventually. And it's going to say, This is the go do it, Do it this weekend. I'm like, Okay. But the thoughts there, It doesn't mean I have to take action on it immediately. It just means I'm going to sit with it and like, Ooh, A little inspired. I got an inspirational hit. Let me sit with it. Let me just sit and see how it feels. This is kind of cool. And then I caught myself doubting and I'm like, Ooh, I'm starting to doubt myself. Okay. Let me just sit with it and keep this idea of holding. Let me eventually mention it to my husband. Like, Hey, I had this thought this morning. What do you think about it? It doesn't mean I need to jump into action mode right away. It means I need to sit with the inspired thought and continue to be self-aware and listen to myself and meditate on it and have some quiet time and really think about it. So aligned action comes from inspired thought. And when you're ready to take the action, You will know you will feel confident. You will be excited. You'll be like, Let's, Let's do this. I'm a little scared. And that fear and that ego and those doubts won't stop you because you're like, I know this is the right thing to do. I just, I just know what's the right thing to do, Even though I'm a little scared to do it. That's when the aligned action comes from the inspired thoughts. That's how I operate might be different for you. Might be different depending on the inspirational thought or whatever it is. This is what I experienced myself. And this is how I tend to operate. And I've learned this because I've had inspired thoughts and I've taken action immediately. And what I've learned is that's not really the best way for me to do it. So I've learned, I take that inspired thought and I kind of sit with it and I see how it feels and I kind of play around with it. And I'm like, Nope, I'm going to go, I'm going to do it now. That that's really what I've noticed. And that's from I've done it where I've had the inspired thought and I've taken the action. But then what happened is I've learned, I'm like, Ooh, That doesn't work. Let's do this a little differently the next time. And then I just learn and I learn and I learn because I'm a human being having a human experience. And every time I do something, It's creating more clarity and it's showing me what I want in life. And it's okay that I have experiences of what I don't want. Yeah. Yes. I'm just really going back to, I feel like COVID has made me reevaluate a lot and clean house from those things that aren't authentically serving me. Jobs. But yes, I think that's happened for a lot of people. And I think a lot of people needed it to be completely honest with you. Yeah. Courageous decisions during pandemic to drop some things. Yeah. Some people looking at scans, Some people watching with interest, Maybe wishing to do similar. Kathleen, This COVID business has really shifted the world. I thought what mental health problem then when it hits you. Yeah. Oh, You're welcome. I'm glad that was a story. So yeah. So that I, That happened this morning. I'm like, No, I eventually take action on that when it feels right to me. And then when I take that action, I might say it to somebody or I might post it or share it. And someone might go, Oh my God, How are you going to do that? What are you going to do? And I'm going to get people that are like, What are you doing? Why are you doing that? When I started going live on insight timer, I didn't tell anybody outside of my circle. I just did it because I didn't want to have the doubt and the fear creep in because somebody else was like, What are you doing? That's going to knock my confidence in my alignment. It's going to make me question. And then I'm going to have to work to get back into alignment to say, No, I'm going to do this anyway. So there are times in life where when you're about to take action, Don't go asking other people for advice, Unless it feels like the right thing to do. So, Or unless you have to ask somebody for advice, But really when you're doing this, You don't need somebody else's permission to say, Yeah, That sounds cool. Nobody else is in your head and nobody else has done the work that you've done to have that inspired thought, To see what it feels like to listen, To meditate. Nobody else has taken all that time to get you to that aligned action. And that aligned action is you figuring out your purpose. And every time you take action, You figure out a little bit more. I like this. I don't like this. Let me do a little more. Let me do a little more exploring. We don't have the full picture right here right now. So when we're saying discovering your purpose, You don't have the complete picture. That picture might be a little fuzzy. And as you do things and take action throughout the year, Throughout your day, Throughout your night, That picture might get a little bit more clear. So it starts out really fuzzy because you don't have all the pieces of the puzzle yet. And then as you take things a little, A little space gets a little bit more clear. You're like, Ooh, I like that. And then that widens a little bit and you get a bigger piece of the picture and then a bigger piece and a bigger piece. And then what happens? It continues to grow because there's no end point. There's no end point. What you wanted your purpose to be in your twenties is going to be very different than what your purpose is in your forties. Cause you've had different life experiences that have taught you different things, Meaning the energy shift to shift the ego, The fear and the limiting beliefs, Giving yourself space and grace to grow. Yes, Diane, Don't encourage the naysayers. We don't need to encourage. Don't give them space. Let them watch you and they will be inspired by you. And I believe a big piece of that is what happened with my husband. I stopped asking, I stopped offering help. I stopped offering suggestions. I still sometimes offer suggestions, But we usually we've, We've gotten to a point now where we ask, Do you need me to listen or do you need me to help? You just need me to listen to listen. And then there are times where I'm like, I'm not really in a space to listen. And I listened as much as I can. And then I'm like, Okay, I need to move on from this conversation. Cause it's starting to stir up some anger in me and I'm having trouble working through it. And that's it. That's it. And then we move on. A lot of patients needed to stay in the presence and not worry about the future. There's definitely a lot of patients, But patients comes with practice. Patients doesn't mean like I'm going to be patient today. And then that's going to be it. No, Cause your patience is going to be tested. You're going to have experiences that are like, Okay, Now how do I work through this? And then you learn how to work through all of those emotions. You've got to learn how to work through all of those emotions. So every time you take aligned action, You're getting one step closer to your purpose and you don't need to know the full story. You know, You might need to know the why, Why do I want to leave my career? Why do I need a new job? Because I need more work-life balance. Well, What does work-life balance actually look like for me? It's a lot of exploration. It's a lot of asking questions. So discovering your purpose is exploration. You need to explore, Go see, Go test the waters, Right? Questioning question, Does this feel good? Does this not feel good? And trusting. So discovering your purpose is exploring, Seeing what works, What doesn't work. Questioning do I like this? Do I not like this? Questioning not others, But yourself. So it's not questioning others. It's questioning yourself and trusting yourself. How many times in our lives have we made decisions because someone else said this is what we need it to do? So when we're kids, You know, We rely on our parents. We rely on the adults in our lives to tell us what's right and wrong. And then eventually we're thrown into the world and we're like, Wait, I'm allowed to figure this out for myself. But when does that transition happen? It's very hard and we get very stuck in why I still need approval. I still need someone to tell me what to do, But, And it's not to say we need to give our kids complete freedom to figure it out. No, That's part of the process. And maybe the adults in our lives and the, And our parents didn't understand this, But we can understand it and we can say, Look, I'm at a point now where I don't need to ask her permission. I remember when I quit my job, It was 2018. I had nothing coming in the background. And one of my, My mom's thing is you need a job and you need a paycheck. You need that security. Like that is just key. It is something she harped in, Um, Into my life and into my beliefs. And I had to change that belief and say, I don't have to have this steady job with a paycheck with benefits in order to be happy and fulfilled. I can find fulfillment and I can do other things. And I just went, I literally went exploring. I went exploring to see what worked and what didn't work. I didn't have the answers. I didn't know what I was doing. I just figured it out along the way. That's all we're doing is we're figuring it out along the way. So we get to a point in our lives. Oh, Here's where I was going with that story. So I remember like I was 34 years old. I don't know. Yeah. I remember when I was, I was 34 and I'm like, Oh my God, The person I was scared to tell the most that I was quitting my job was my mom. I was like, What is she going to say when she's going to judge me, She's going to blah, Blah, Blah, Blah. And what she said on the phone was, It was really kind of amazing. She said, I don't understand what you're going to be doing, But it sounds like, You know, What you're doing. That was it. And I know on the backend, She thought I was crazy. She was judging me, But it was really when I was, Wow, That's huge. And then there was also another time when I decided to move out of the house and move in with my now husband, We weren't engaged. We weren't, You know, We were just dating at the time and I went to move out again, Super scary conversation. Hey mom, I'm going to move in with my boyfriend that I've been dating for six months. Like what, You know, And I remember she said, I don't agree with it, But I also can't stop you. And those were huge pivotal moments in my life. Wait, I don't have password permission, But it doesn't mean that I stopped. I stopped feeling that way. I really had to start saying, No, I need to explore on my own and figure this out. And I'm, I'm allowed to do that. So it's really, Really beautiful of discovering your purpose is exploring, Questioning yourself and trusting yourself, Taking those aligned actions that feel good and then saying what works and what nice supportive mom. I love that you said that I don't always feel that way. It is recorded. I will have the audio up. Your video is not being recorded. Yep. Yes. It is a quieting of I can fix it response. It's hard. Yeah, It's hard because you want to fix it. So that's really kind of the stuff I had for today. So I can sit if anybody has additional questions or wants to learn more, You can absolutely do that. And this is, This is really, Truly what I believe so much of our life is we're here to play. We're here to have fun. We are here to explore. And I heard, Um, An Abraham peaks video that said this the other day and it really sunk in. It's not the path of no resistance that we're searching for. Our inner being knows the past, A path of least resistance. We are going to come up against resistance and the resistance teaches us. It helps us know more of what we do want. It helps us make that picture more clear. So we can expect our path to be free of roadblocks. We can't expect the smooth sailing the entire time, But we have to explore. We have to question and we have to trust. And through all of that, Our purpose will unveil itself and our purpose will change and it will grow. We might start thinking we want one thing and we end up getting something completely different and you're like, But I'm a happier over here. But I had no idea that I had no idea that this is what I wanted because I hadn't had all of those experiences that led me up to there. So I hope you guys found value in this chat today.
