And as we always do,
Let's settle into our meditation by finding a comfortable position to be in.
And being comfortable is super important because if you're not comfortable while you're in the meditation,
You're going to be wanting to move and wanting to get up.
So finding that comfortable space and really settling in to the space that you're in.
And start here just taking those moments to connect to your breath.
To see where it's at this morning.
To check in.
Say,
Hey,
How you doing?
What's going on today?
Where are you right now?
And taking a moment to ask your body,
Where are you right now?
What are you doing?
What are you feeling?
Because even though it's first thing in the morning,
Typically our bodies wake up and go right into reaction mode.
And by coming here and sitting still here,
You are switching that gear to being proactive.
Rather than saying,
What's my day going to bring me?
You can say,
How do I want my day to go?
What intention do I set for myself for this day ahead?
Start taking your breath just a little bit deeper.
Feeling the rise and fall of your belly.
Listening to the inhale and the exhale through your nose.
Taking a big deep breath in here.
Holding it at the top and releasing slowly.
And as you release,
Sinking your body down into the ground.
The chair,
The surface,
Whatever is beneath you.
In and slowly out.
And settling back in to that breath.
Having your body to settle into a slower rhythm than maybe where you were when you started.
Maybe you noticed your breath was fast and your heartbeat was quick.
And now take a moment to say to yourself,
It's okay to slow down.
You are safe.
It is okay to slow down.
You are safe.
And repeat those words to yourself or maybe another phrase,
Another affirmation that you want to say to yourself.
And just breathe.
It's okay to slow down.
I am safe.
And just breathing in and out so deeply.
And if your mind starts to wander at any point,
That's okay.
Tell yourself that's okay too.
Reconnect with your breath.
And repeat.
It's okay to be still.
I am safe.
I'll give you a few moments of silence here to really sink into those words.
And know that you can sit in this space as long as you need.
This space is here for you.
And when you are ready to end this session,
Awaken your body with small movements,
Blinking your eyes open,
Coming into the space around you,
Finding an object in the room,
Maybe something that's always there that you don't recognize or something you look at all the time and maybe now you're looking at it in a different light with a different perspective.
And always knowing that it is okay to slow down.
You are safe.
And connecting with your breath to slow down your mind,
To slow down your breathing,
To slow down your heart rate is a space that is always here for you.
