Begin in a comfortable position.
Allow your body to settle.
This is a safe space,
Safe time for you to go through these thoughts,
These feelings,
And just let them be.
Whatever arises is okay.
If it feels right for you,
Place one hand on your heart and one on your belly.
Take a slow breath in through your nose and a soft exhale through your mouth.
Again,
Breathing in gently and release.
There's nothing to change in this moment,
No reason to rush,
Nothing to solve.
This space is here for love.
If you are here,
It likely means you have loved an animal deeply and perhaps you are missing them.
The kind of love we share with animals is pure,
It's uncomplicated,
It's steady,
It is present.
They love us without language,
Without condition,
Without expectation,
And that's something that can be quite rare in this world.
And so it's a beautiful connection that we honor now.
When their physical body leaves,
The silence can feel immense.
I want you to know,
I have walked through this too,
And I understand how the house can feel different,
How routines feel empty,
How your body still expects to hear them or feel them near you.
Grief for an animal companion is very real.
It is sacred and it deserves space.
Take a slow breath.
Let yourself feel now,
Whatever is here,
Be present with this moment.
There could be sadness,
Numbness,
Gratitude,
Longing,
Love,
All of it belongs.
Now bring to mind your beloved companion.
You don't have to see them clearly,
Simply sense them.
Notice their eyes,
Their beautiful eyes,
And the way they look to you.
Notice their energy,
How did it feel to be around them?
What did their personality feel like?
What did they feel like?
Animals really live in the present moment.
And because of that,
The bond that we share with them is energetic,
Not just physical.
And energy does not disappear.
It just changes form.
The love you shared with your beloved created a field and a connection.
It's living,
Breathing,
And that field,
That connection still exists.
Take a breath and imagine that love as light,
Soft,
Warm light between your heart and theirs.
It's surrounding you now,
Feeling it all around you.
This is how close they are all the time.
Even if their body is no longer here,
That light,
That life force remains intact.
Now,
Let them show you or imagine or feel your companion surrounded by a gentle warmth.
Peaceful,
Free,
Light.
There is no pain where they are,
No discomfort,
No confusion.
Just awareness and love.
And from that place of peace,
They can still feel you.
Animals are deeply intuitive beings.
And sometimes,
When we are quiet enough,
When the moment is just right,
We can feel them too.
Not necessarily something dramatic or a ginormous sign,
But something subtle.
A sudden warmth in your chest.
A memory that feels alive.
A feather in an unexpected place or something that they used to have.
A toy that you thought was lost and it's back.
A dream that feels real.
Could be a visitation.
I have these all the time.
Trust that.
You could hear a sound or notice a scent that appears and disappears.
But these are things that we cannot force.
These are signs that we allow.
If it feels comforting and right to you right now,
Just imagine your companion sending you a small signal right now.
It could be anything.
Color.
A sensation.
A simple feeling of,
I'm here.
Just soften.
Breathe into your heart again.
Love does not need proof to be real.
Rest in the knowing that even the bond,
Even you taking this time,
Is a sign that you're connecting and you're connected.
Now just imagine your companion sitting or lying beside you once again.
Feel them peaceful.
You could imagine placing your hand on them.
Feel their fur.
Their warmth.
Their steady presence.
And speak to them with your mind or out loud.
You can say,
I miss you.
Thank you.
I love you.
I know you're at peace.
Then if you haven't noticed already,
Imagine them responding.
Not in human language,
But in energy.
Perhaps you feel reassurance.
Gratitude.
Comfort.
Animals do not hold any resentment.
They do not question timing.
And they do not dwell in regret.
They understand cycles.
The cycles of life and leaving.
In ways we sometimes struggle to.
And the love they experienced with you was complete.
Their mission,
Their journey was completed.
They did exactly what they needed to do with you.
And you gave them safety.
You gave them presence.
You gave them a home.
And that matters.
Take that in.
And bring your awareness back to your own heart.
Feel the love there.
Grief can be love with nowhere to land physically.
So we create a place for it to land.
But instead of trying to push the grief away,
Allow it to transform into gratitude.
Into more love.
With each breath in,
Breathe in love.
With each breath out,
Release guilt.
Regret.
Or what ifs.
You did the best you could.
With the knowledge and capacity you had at the time.
Love was ever present.
And love is enough.
Now notice your companion becoming lighter and lighter.
Blending in with the light.
Not leaving you ever.
But expanding.
The light moves into the air around you.
Into the trees.
Into the sky.
Into the earth beneath your feet.
They are no longer confined to one space.
They are everywhere that love can reach.
And they can reach you.
And when you step outside,
When the sun touches your skin,
When a breeze moves across your face,
You can whisper hello.
Because love does not end with form.
It evolves.
Let's take three slow breaths now.
Breathing in.
And out.
In.
In.
And out.
And one more breathing in.
Place both hands over your heart.
Feel your life force.
Feel your capacity to love that was demonstrated for you.
The depth of your grief reflects the depth of your love.
And that love is a beautiful thing.
When you're ready,
Gently begin to bring awareness back to the room.
Wiggle your fingers.
Move your toes.
And please know this.
You're not alone in this.
Your love remains.
Their love remains.
And the connection you shared can never be severed and never be lost.
Softly open your eyes when you're ready.
Thank you for joining me.
I send you so much love and comfort in this time.
You're beautiful and never forget that.
And so were they.
