Take a deep breath in through your nose and slowly and gently breathe out through your mouth.
As you take another deep breath,
Focus your attention on any areas you may be feeling tension.
As you exhale,
Imagine the tension as a grey mist and see it floating out of your mouth and down into the ground.
Again,
Deep breath in,
Exhaling and seeing the tension float away as a grey mist.
One more time,
Breathe in,
Allowing all tension to float away as you exhale.
One more time,
Breathe in,
Allowing all tension to float away as you exhale.
And just breathe.
Now take a deep breath in and as you do,
Raise your shoulders up.
As you breathe out,
Drop your shoulders down.
Again,
Breathe in,
Lifting the shoulders up and breathe out,
Letting the shoulders drop back down.
One more time,
Breathe in,
Lifting the shoulders up and breathe out,
Letting the shoulders drop back down.
And relax.
Now just bring your breathing back to its normal rhythm.
As you rest peacefully,
You begin to form an image in your mind.
And you imagine that you are in your favourite and most comfortable room and you are very safe.
The night has drawn in and the room is pleasantly dark.
Now imagine there is a small table at the side of where you are sitting.
And on that table is a candle,
But you don't look at it.
You can see its warm flickering glow on the wall in front of you.
See the shimmering light from the candle as it bounces across the wall.
Watch it as it sways slowly back and forth.
Back and forth.
Back and forth.
You can feel yourself relaxing as you watch the beautiful patterns made by the light of the candle on the wall.
And you feel safe and secure in your beautiful room.
As you watch the dancing candlelight,
You become calmer and more relaxed.
You are starting to feel more and more peaceful as the glow of the candle almost caresses you with its flickering flame.
Almost like it's touching your body with a beautiful wave of relaxation.
Can you feel it?
Now picture the small table with the candle on it in front of you.
See the soft light it creates.
Notice how the flame gently moves as the candle burns.
What does your candle look like?
What shape is it?
What colour is it?
What size is your candle?
Is it large?
Is it small?
Really see the candle in your mind.
Can you see it?
As the candle gently starts to melt away,
The stresses and tension you have been holding in your body also start to melt away.
As the candle burns,
You can feel the tension easing and relaxation flowing all through your body.
Notice how the wax is becoming softer.
As it does,
You feel your body also becoming softer.
It's like your body is becoming one with the candle.
Look again at the soft flame at the top of the candle.
See how it flickers slightly in response to your breath as you exhale.
Watch it as it dances for you.
Watch it as it sways slowly from side to side.
Back and forth.
Back and forth.
Back and forth.
Watch how the flame responds each time you breathe.
Now turn your attention back to the wax of the candle.
The wax has started to melt now.
It is turning to liquid.
Warm and flowing.
Free from tension.
Free from all stresses and strains.
See the wax of the candle melting.
Melting the way your tension is melting away.
And you can feel the tension just melting away.
Can you feel it?
So relaxed.
So peaceful.
So calm.
As the melted wax builds,
You see it softly overflow and pour down the side of the candle drop by drop.
Just a little bit at a time.
Drop by drop.
It feels like any stresses you are holding onto are slowly dripping away with each drop of melted wax from your candle.
And you are experiencing sheer bliss as you relax deeper and deeper.
Becoming more and more peaceful.
More and more calm.
And more and more relaxed.
The soft flame of the candle is relaxing and it warms you from the inside.
Melting away all of the stress.
All of the tension.
And all of your everyday problems.
Can you feel it?
Can you feel your body becoming softer and softer?
Can you feel the tension releasing from your body as you become more and more relaxed?
More and more at peace as you go deeper and deeper into pure relaxation.
Touch the wax melting away.
Just melting away.
And you feel just like the melting wax.
The tension in your body is just melting away.
The tension has melted away.
And you are relaxing deeper and deeper.
Your whole body is being soothed by the light of this beautiful candle.
And you feel very calm.
Very relaxed.
And very,
Very peaceful.
Continue to watch the burning candle for as long as you wish.
Enjoying the relaxation you are experiencing.

And for you to let your whole body become like the melted candle.
