Snuggle down in your cosy bed and close your eyes.
Take a deep breath in and then slowly and gently let the breath out.
Again,
Deep breath in and then slowly and gently let that breath out.
One more time,
Deep breath in and slowly and gently letting the breath out from your mouth.
Now just relax,
Feeling peaceful,
Feeling calm.
Now tense up all of the muscles in your body including your head and your neck.
Tense them really tightly and hold it as tight as you can.
Hold it tight and now relax.
And letting your whole body just go limp.
And once again,
Tense up all of the muscles in your body including your head and your neck and hold it really,
Really tightly.
That's right,
Hold it tight and relax.
Let your whole body go limp again.
How does your body feel right now?
Does it feel relaxed and calm and peaceful?
And your whole body is now just very still.
So very still and so very heavy.
Now imagine that above your head is a tiny floating cloud of golden sparkles.
These are sleep sparkles,
Kind of like fairy dust but only better.
And they shimmer and they shine like millions of golden suns shining their light just for you.
As you look at it you can see golden sparkles and even some tiny beautiful silver sparkles all twinkling away.
The silver ones look like magnificent tiny diamonds shining ever so brightly.
And as you look at this floating cloud of sparkles you can see images of things moving around in the cloud.
What can you see?
Do they shine and sparkle too?
Now this floating cloud slowly moves around above your head and it swirls around and around and it swirls up and down very slowly,
Very peacefully.
But as you look at it little tiny golden sparkles start to fall from it like gentle snow all around your head and your shoulders.
And it feels warm as it touches you and it makes you feel very peaceful,
Very calm.
It makes you feel very special because you are very special.
Your eyes are beginning to feel really heavy now and your body is so tired.
And you watch as the beautiful golden sparkles gently fall down onto your body and your tummy.
Just falling like gentle snow.
So you close your eyes for just a minute.
There's no harm in just resting them for a little while is there?
You take a deep breath in through your nose and gently blow it out from your mouth.
You take another deep breath and gently blow it out from your mouth.
The golden sparkles now begin to fall down onto your legs and your feet.
And before you know it your whole body is covered in beautiful golden sparkles.
And you feel so very sleepy now.
So tired but so relaxed.
And you feel so peaceful and so calm.
And you are very safe.
You are very protected.
And you are very,
Very loved.
You begin to feel a gentle wave of sleepiness starting at your feet.
And you begin to feel your toes going to sleep.
And they feel all warm and tingly and ever so soft.
Oh you feel so peaceful.
And you feel this soothing gentle wave of sleepiness coming up your calves and your shins.
You can feel it going up into your thighs.
You feel so nice.
So relaxing.
You think your legs have gone to sleep?
Maybe they have.
You feel very,
Very tired now.
So sleepy but so happy.
And it feels like you can't open your eyes.
But that's okay because you don't want to open your eyes.
You don't need to open your eyes.
You feel so relaxed,
So peaceful and so calm.
And this beautiful wave of sleepiness travels all the way up your body and down your arms and into your hands.
Making your body feel very,
Very heavy.
Very very tired.
And very very sleepy.
Oh you feel so sleepy.
So peaceful.
So calm.
And this gentle warm wave of sleepiness travels up your face and over the top of your head.
And it travels down the back of your neck.
You feel so tired.
So sleepy.
And your whole body feels very,
Very heavy.
You can feel yourself beginning to drift into a peaceful,
Wonderful,
Happy sleep with many,
Many lovely dreams.
Oh you feel so peaceful.
So calm.
But you feel so very happy.
You are so relaxed.
So very,
Very relaxed.
Your eyelids are very heavy.
Very heavy.
Feel sleep calling you.
You can feel the lovely dreams calling to you.
And you feel so relaxed.
So very,
Very sleepy.
You just want to sleep.
So for now,
Just have that wonderful sleep knowing you are safe,
You are loved,
And you are protected always.
Just drift away into that wonderful,
Peaceful sleep.
