We're breathing,
Feeling our breath as we begin,
Feeling the breath that we share,
Not only with our whole physical body,
But also this breath that we're sharing with all of us throughout the waves of the air in virtual time,
Virtual space,
Which is in some ways slightly less real than real time,
In real space,
But still the breath that we're speaking of,
Rukha de kucha,
Is able to touch and reach through the internet and through all of these waves as well.
And then if you know it,
Please join with me.
We'll say the Aramaic prayer together.
If not,
Simply breathe and feel the sound of your own breath,
The sensation of your own breath reaching out and connecting.
Let's continue from that,
Just taking a long breath together,
A long exhalation,
And then breathing in,
Feeling,
You could say,
The most solid part of our bodies as we breathe in,
Alaha,
And we breathe out,
Ara,
The name of the element earth in Aramaic.
So connecting the earth in us,
Earth around us,
Solid within,
Solid underneath,
Our sense of standing,
Sitting,
Being supported.
Aloha,
In,
Ara,
Out.
Aloha is the source of all,
The source of living elements here and now in our bodies.
We live in a universe of subjects.
There are no objects,
Everything living.
And then continuing with the water,
In through the nose,
Out through the mouth,
Breathing in aloha,
Breathing out maya,
Breathing in aloha,
Again,
Feeling our breaths connecting with aloha and with each other,
Breathing out maya.
You could say all the water within us,
Around us,
Is renewed,
Revitalized.
Water becomes conscious of itself through us,
In our cells,
In our muscles,
In our connective tissue,
In our lymphatic system,
Living,
Revivified.
Aloha maya.
Moving on now to the fire and the light,
Again,
In Aramaic,
Nujra,
Both fire and light.
We're breathing in through the mouth,
Lips close together,
Breathing out through the nose,
Feeling warmth in our solar plexus and radiance,
Light,
Pulsation from our hearts.
Aloha in,
Nujra breathed out,
Feeling all of the pulses of our bodies return to a normal balance and tempo,
Our relationship to day and night,
Also balancing circadian rhythms,
Our relationship to the rhythms of nature around us,
Also returning to a balanced tempo.
Aloha in maya,
Nujra out.
So warmth around us,
Warmth through our food,
Warmth through nature,
Warmth through what we are,
Transforming itself to purpose,
To fire and to love.
And then we're moving into the air,
The breath,
The wind and the spirit.
Aloha,
Ruha,
Aloha,
Ruha.
So in and out through the mouth,
The lips close together,
A refined breath.
As much as possible,
Feeling the pores of our skin open,
Space next to our clothing,
Receiving this living breath,
Ruha from all around us,
From underneath,
Through breathing with our sense of touch,
Refreshing our whole nervous system,
Gently allowing any old habits or patterns that we no longer need to be blown away,
To be carried away by the wind and the breath and the spirit.
And we're inviting those new habits,
Those new ways of sensing,
Feeling,
Touching,
Experiencing to arise within us now.
A few breaths now,
Simply breathing with all of these four together,
Feeling them mingling,
Merging together as a beautiful rainbow of colors,
Textures,
Sensations,
Sounds.
Ar,
Ach,
Maya,
Nujra,
Ruha.
Simply breathing aloha in,
Aloha out,
In fullness,
In balance,
In health,
In harmony.
Each element,
A living being within us,
Helping us every moment,
Every breath to reconnect in a healthy way.
And again,
Allowing the breath to come through us,
Not only for ourselves as we're gathered here,
But for those who are listening on the recording in future days,
For those in our communities,
Our neighbors,
Families,
Friends,
Breathing this balanced breath of all the elements,
Releasing it with a sense of love,
Of purpose,
Of will,
Sending it out.
Amen,
Amen,
Amen,
As we release,
As we release,
So we are released,
Elements return to the source,
And we're simply breathing in the moment.
