How can we support ourselves when we allow ourselves to feel more than we usually do?
To see more than we usually do?
As our awareness grows,
We feel and see all parts of the human experience.
And so along with this heartful awareness,
We must tend to this resiliency and stability to keep us grounded.
I'd like to offer you a beautiful image.
Oftentimes the visual of a tree can remind us of our stability.
And just for right now,
I'd like you to join me in picturing a very specific special tree.
And just let your imagination color in what this might look like for you.
And later you can actually research what the real tree really looks like,
Because it does in fact exist.
So let's think of the most resilient tree in the world.
This tree lives in the Persian Gulf nation of Bahrain.
And it is the only tree for miles and miles that stands stark in the Arabian desert.
It is a tree that attracts tourists because it is so rare and exquisite.
We don't really know how it exists.
Some think that it must have this super natural quality to extract the tiniest amount of moisture from grains of sand.
So imagine this barren desert and coming across this beautiful,
Green,
Lush,
Thriving tree adapting in its environment.
What scientists have understood about what we call the tree of life,
This most resilient tree is that it has roots that reach down 150 feet.
That's about 14 stories high.
That's about as tall as the Statue of Liberty.
Clearly,
These are the most resilient roots supporting this wondrous tree.
So you can picture yourself sitting at the base of this tree,
Convening with its strength,
Its shade,
Its rare and exquisite beauty.
And you can be reminded that even in the harshest conditions,
The ability to adapt is very natural.
And also knowing that this tree is completely by itself and letting go of this image of its standing stark and just offering yourself this remembrance that most trees do grow in forests and rely on this network of roots that support and nourish each other.
But if needed to,
They could have the resiliency to withstand on their own.
