So,

We have this body and oftentimes throughout our day there might be a feeling of disconnection from it.

So,

For right now,

We're going to see if we can encourage greater feeling,

Sensitivity,

And awareness of our bodies.

And always with this perspective and attitude of kind curiosity,

Refraining from judgment,

And blanketing everything with the warmth of care,

Interest,

And love.

So,

To begin,

We'll start at the very bottom of our body,

Which is our feet.

Just feeling into the feet without moving them or touching them,

Just a gentle noticing of what they feel like.

Then moving up into the legs,

Maybe the shins and the calves,

Noticing the muscles and maybe if there's any tightness or relaxation there,

What can you feel?

What can you observe?

Feeling into the area around the knees and perhaps the upper part of your legs,

Your quads and your thighs,

This very strong part of the body perhaps,

And resting there briefly.

Are there any sensations?

And then moving into the belly,

Our gut,

Some call it the second brain of our system,

But knowing that oftentimes we feel things first in the solar plexus and the central part of our self,

Of our body.

How does the abdomen feel at the moment?

How does the stomach feel?

Is it taut?

Is it loose?

Digesting?

Empty?

Just noticing.

And then expanding to the other side of the torso and to the back,

The whole region of the back,

So the lower,

Middle,

The upper back,

Including the spine,

Knowing that the lower back often is the support area.

It's where we bend also.

This middle and upper back can sometimes feel weighted upon.

Just exploring the regions of the back with that kindness,

That interest,

Not trying to change anything there.

And then including in our awareness,

Our shoulders,

And then our arms and hands that do so much all the time.

Is there any sensation of warmth or coolness or air or anything else?

Then rising up into the neck and the base of the head,

Feeling maybe some strength or maybe some tension.

Just observing.

And then into the head,

The face,

The eyelids,

The cheeks,

The jaw.

Is there anything clenched or taut?

Is there anything loose,

Relaxed?

And finally bathing your entire body from head to toes with this gentle awareness.

This is the body right now.

Right now the body is like this.
