So,

I invite you to settle into this moment wherever it may find you.

If you are seated,

Perhaps placing your feet flat on the floor.

If you're standing,

Feeling that lining up of your spine.

If you're lying down,

Just letting your body sink into the surface below you.

And as you do this,

Just start to become aware of the breath.

This may be the first time you've paid attention to it all day.

It might feel strange or it might feel familiar.

Just noticing that the body is breathing and you don't have to do anything special.

Just observe.

Does the breath feel short?

Does it feel long and expansive?

Does it feel like you're only breathing in the top or half of your lungs?

Or can you feel it deep into the belly?

Your breath is your life force and it's automatic.

You don't have to try to breathe.

We are breathing all day and all night.

It carries us through every moment of our lives.

And yet,

When we notice our breath,

It can feel like,

Wow,

Where have you been?

Can feel like we've been a little disconnected from it,

Or at least from the sensation of breathing.

Let's see if we can connect,

Sink in with our natural breathing rhythm,

Whatever that might be.

You don't have to breathe any longer or shorter than you are right now.

Just see if you can notice that rise and fall that your body does in its particular way.

And just let that rhythm soothe you for a few moments.

This breath,

This life force can also be considered our natural regulator.

Free,

Easy,

Always accessible in every moment.

You are able to connect with your organic breathing pattern or rhythm.

Just notice if the quality of your breath has changed on its own without you trying to do anything.

And to end,

Just placing a hand gently,

Perhaps where you feel your breath strongest in your body.

It might be on your chest or on your belly,

Maybe right under the tip of your nose.

And removing your hand from that spot,

Resting in your breath in that natural rhythm once again,

Let it encompass your whole body.

So it's like your whole body is breathing that breath,

That life force is running through your entire body.

Thank you for breathing with me.
