Welcome.
My name is Natalie and today I will be guiding you through a root chakra grounding meditation.
This meditation is a journey back home,
Into our body,
Into the earth and into the calm and steady rhythm of our own being.
Sometimes life moves so fast that we forget we are held,
Supported and safe.
So today let's return to that feeling of deep grounding.
Awaken the root chakra.
The root chakra is our foundation for safety,
Stability and trust.
So find a comfortable space,
Whether you want to sit down or lie down.
Make sure you are as comfortable as possible.
Make sure your room is not too warm,
Not too cold.
And once you are ready,
I want to invite you to take a slow,
Deep breath in through your nose and exhale gently through your mouth.
And again,
Breathe in through your nose and exhale out through your mouth.
Allow your body to begin to soften.
Feel the weight of your body supported by the surface beneath you.
And now bring your awareness to the top of your head.
Relax.
Release any tension in your scalp,
In your forehead,
In your cheeks,
In your jaw.
Let your tongue relax in your mouth.
Let your shoulders drop.
Your arms feel heavy and relaxed.
Move your attention down your chest,
Your heart center,
Your belly.
And feel your breath move like gentle waves,
Not trying to change anything.
Just observe your breath.
Each inhale nourishing you and each exhale grounding you deeper.
Bring your attention to your neck,
Down your spine vertebrae by vertebrae.
All the way to your lower back.
Feel your hips soften.
Your legs heavy.
And your feet resting firmly on the earth.
Now imagine your entire body is safe,
Present and supported.
Now bring your awareness to the base of your spine.
The place of your root chakra.
And this is your energetic foundation.
Your connection to the earth,
To safety,
To belonging.
And now begin to visualize a soft glowing red light here.
Warm and steady.
And with every breath this light grows stronger,
Pulsing gently with life.
And now silently repeat to yourself.
I am safe.
I am safe.
I am safe.
I am grounded.
I belong here.
I belong here.
I am safe.
I am grounded.
I belong here.
I am safe.
I am grounded.
I belong here.
Feel those affirmations.
And feel the energy of this red light expanding down through your legs.
Expanding down through your knees.
Your feet.
And reaching into the earth like roots.
Deep,
Ancient roots connecting you to the heart of the planet.
And the earth's energy rises through them.
Calm,
Warm,
Nurturing and protective.
Now breathe in this grounding energy.
And breathe out anything that no longer serves you.
Any fear,
Anxiety or restlessness.
And let the earth transform it into peace.
With every breath,
Breathing in grounding energy.
And with every exhale,
Give back to the earth what no longer serves you.
And trust that the earth will transform this into peace.
And now imagine yourself sitting or standing beneath a great,
Ancient tree.
Just take a moment to visualize this tree.
Visualize the branches,
The leaves,
The shapes of the leaves.
And now observe its roots.
And feel how they stretch deep into the soil.
Just as yours do.
And you can feel the heartbeat of the earth beneath you.
Slow,
Steady and timeless.
And as you breathe,
Your roots intertwine with the tree's roots.
And feel how you are supported,
Supported,
Nourished and part of something vast and beautiful.
And with every inhale,
You draw in stability,
Strength and trust.
And with every exhale,
You release tension,
Doubt and fear.
And stay here for a few moments.
Simply breathing and feeling the quiet power of the earth holding you.
You are safe.
You are grounded.
You are home.
Now silently repeat,
I am safe.
I am grounded.
And now slowly bring your awareness back to your body.
Be aware of the temperature in the room.
Be aware of the sounds in your room.
Feel the air on your skin.
Feel the rhythm of your breath.
And start to gently wiggle your fingers.
Wiggle your toes.
And slowly turn your head from one side to the other.
And then bend your legs and bring your knees into your chest.
Give yourself a big hug.
And then slowly turn to one side,
Any side.
Using one of your hands to support your head.
And then slowly push yourself up into a seated meditative position.
Bring your hands on your heart.
And take one final deep breath in.
And as you exhale,
Imagine sending gratitude down into the earth.
And now whisper softly to yourself,
I am supported.
I am enough.
I trust the ground beneath me.
And when you're ready,
Open your eyes.
Carrying this calm,
Grounding energy with you into the rest of your day.
Try this meditation for the next 21 days.
And just feel the difference.
Feel how grounded you are.
And how this will influence your day to day.
