If you have been through a lot of pain, you have noticed that your lifestyle has been affected. Your self-esteem, your self-worth and your confidence may have been seriously impacted... Which is totally valid. In order to carve out your own path of healing, it is in my opinion important to become aware of what identity you have fallen into. And from that awareness, you can make a mindset shift and start designing another identity. This process will help your find empowerment in your journey.

Welcome to this recording.

Today I would like to elaborate on the identity shift as a foundational principle for healing.

My name is Nathalie,

I am French,

I live in Australia,

And I've been through a lot of chronic pain.

I was diagnosed with autoimmune diseases and during the course of my illness I spent a lot of time meditating and a lot of wisdom,

I would say,

Came to me.

So out of this experience and knowledge I have basically healed,

I would say.

What is the most important for me today is to share how I have managed to manifest a state of peace with regards to my health and my body.

So what I mean is I'm not here to give you a miraculous pill,

I'm not here to tell you what you should do,

Although I believe that what I'm going to share is valuable and could help you in your journey,

So I invite you to trust and to try and in my opinion what I'm going to share is not harmful.

The only thing I want to say is no one knows what the journey is about,

But for sure what I'm going to share with you will help you to create inner peace,

Which means in other terms being less stressed,

And when we are less stressed we basically have a proper environment,

Inner environment for the body to get back to health.

So let's get started and today it's about reflecting.

So make yourself comfortable,

Intend to be present,

Please open yourself to new concepts,

Knowing that you may not integrate everything right now,

But this is an opportunity for you maybe to take some notes or simply mental notes and you can think about what I'm going to say later on.

There is no rush,

It's a journey and your journey is unique.

So the identity shift is a principle for healing.

I'm going to elaborate on that.

If you have been listening to some of my live events on Inside Timer,

You know that I have created 10 principles for healing and I have already shared about the first five ones.

The first few ones include the identity shift.

In order to create a new identity,

Which I'm going to explain what it's about,

It is very important,

It's like a prerequisite to have spent some time with the energy of acceptance.

Accepting your story,

Accepting your emotions,

Accepting how you feel is paramount.

In order to create that identity shift,

It's very important that you don't have a heavy,

Heavy load of negative emotions.

It will be impossible for you to be able to shift to a new state of mind if your body is clogged,

Is full of negative emotions.

So it's something to be mindful of.

Please take notes about what I'm going to say,

But if in these moments you have a lot going on,

Which is absolutely valid,

If you have a lot of anger,

Sadness,

Grief,

Anxiety,

And it's really overwhelming you,

The first step is to go through this emotional state,

Taking your time with that and trusting that you can release it,

And then after that,

Coming back to this recording so you can embrace this new step,

Which is about shifting your identity.

So let me tell you about shifting identity.

I'm going to tell you a story,

A fact,

And maybe you can relate.

In our lives,

We start with having friends when we are infants,

Kids,

We go to school,

We evolve and we live somewhere,

Then maybe we practice hobbies,

Activities,

And sports.

Later on,

We go to high school,

University,

And people will ask you,

What's your name,

What do you do?

And that's pretty normal,

You're going to say,

Hi,

My name is Nathalie and I work as a consultant in a big firm and I go to the gym once a week,

I am married and yeah,

Life is good.

Basically,

This is your identity.

And usually,

Your identity is something that you want to be proud of it.

This is how you present yourself to the world.

This is how you present yourself to yourself as well.

So as human beings,

This is what we could also call the ego.

This is basically how we identify ourselves.

What you may become aware of is with pain and sickness,

Your identity is changing.

It becomes harder to say,

I'm a consultant,

I work there,

I do this,

I do that.

Because on the side,

If you're going through a heavy challenge,

Your life becomes about your pain.

In the back of your mind,

You start identifying yourself as an injured person,

As a sick person.

And your self-esteem,

Your confidence,

Your self-worth will be certainly affected.

And at many levels,

It will affect you.

It may affect you.

I guess if you are listening to this recording,

It's because you are curious about this concept.

Maybe you are beyond that,

And maybe you are already aware that pain doesn't define you.

That's where I want to go right now.

So taking a moment to integrate what I've just shared.

Now I'm going to tell you how to embrace your healing journey.

In order to heal,

It is very important to become aware of that identity.

And maybe in your own time,

I invite you to take a journal,

A notebook,

Or maybe simply you can talk to yourself.

I love doing that,

But you may think it's a little weird.

And really checking what is your identity?

Who are you?

What comes up?

What is predominant?

And as an example,

I would say,

If you are injured,

You would say,

Yeah,

I'm injured.

I can't walk.

I can't run.

I'm not fit.

But I'm smart,

And I can work in,

And you can,

You know,

Elaborate and say,

Yeah,

I'm very smart and I'm able to do this and that.

So there will be different aspects of your identity.

Now coming back to the healing,

If you want to heal,

Your mind is a powerful tool.

It's about shifting that identity and really creating another character.

So it's really about starting to put yourself into this state.

And if you can't right now put yourself into another character,

Another identity,

You can already design,

Design that person,

Design that identity.

This is what I did.

And it helped me so much to heal because I noticed myself that my pain was my life.

I could not talk.

I could not walk.

I could not have a shower without being in pain.

I could not eat properly.

My physical body was changing.

I was feeling unfit.

I was actually unfit.

My intimacy,

My intimate life was so different.

I felt like a mess.

I didn't have a social life.

And so I could see what I had become.

And I realized that if I could change my mind around that,

If I could see myself as not just pain,

But someone who is actually empowered because through that pain,

I'm actually,

I was actually learning a few things.

So I started to shift myself to,

All right,

I'm sick,

But I'm actually learning to cook.

I'm an amazing cook.

I'm learning nutrition.

I am an amazing,

Maybe a soon to be nutritionist.

And there were a few aspects of me that were very exciting,

Exciting.

And as I could see the beautiful aspects of my being,

I started to create a new character,

Which was not happening in the present when I could see myself transitioning to another state,

Another identity.

And as I was meditating every day,

I could really imagine that person,

That new identity,

That new woman was not at the mercy of the pain.

So I realized that pain was an aspect of me and I could create other aspects in me,

Even though I could not feel them in the present moment,

I definitely saw that there was a possibility for me to feel that I'm not just pain.

So I hope that helps you.

Another example I could give you,

Which has nothing to do with pain and illness,

Which is something fun,

I would say any artist,

Or can you imagine a singer when they go on stage,

And I will also talk about myself these days as an ecstatic dance facilitator,

Before I start my events,

I put myself in a complete different state,

Which is actually,

It's still me.

I know that's me,

But I pull out this version of me that is confident,

Sexy,

Happy,

Excited,

And it naturally becomes who I am.

So in those moments,

I forget all my worries,

My day,

My past,

And I turn into the ecstatic dance facilitator that I am.

So just something to think about.

The identity shift is something fundamental if you want to get better.

So my friends,

I promise I will do more of those lives because it may not be easy to integrate and to shift to a new state.

So I will do my best to clarify,

And if you enjoyed that recording,

Please let me know,

Please comment.

You take care of yourselves.

Have a beautiful day,

Have a beautiful night,

And I will talk to you very soon.

Bye-bye.

I am a whole and healthy being. My journey is not about my emotional pain. I am living in a physical body and have tried many wonderful things. Now am living in the balance of doing and being. It is amazing and beautiful ๐Ÿฉต๐Ÿ’ซ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป
