This is a yoga nidra in celebration of autumn equinox,
A time of harvest,
Abundance,
A time to gather,
Prepare,
And slow down.
Allow your body to find stillness,
And to find some rest in the support beneath you.
Relax your eyes.
As we begin this practice of yoga nidra,
Take a moment to connect to a heart's intention.
You might use one of these,
Or one of your own.
I have abundance.
I am changing.
I am slowing down.
Finding words that resonate,
You can say them to yourself a few times,
And also feel them.
Embody the words you choose.
Now bring your attention to the tips of your fingers and thumbs.
Sensing the tips of your fingers,
Thumbs,
And the energy around.
Let your awareness move up,
All ten fingers,
To your knuckles,
Palms of hands,
Wrists,
Forearms,
Elbows,
Upper arms,
Shoulders,
Chest,
Ribcage,
Waist,
Pelvic bowl,
Hips,
Thighs,
Knees,
Lower legs,
Ankles,
Heels,
Soles.
Sensing tips of toes,
And the space around.
Slowly bring your awareness back up your legs,
And very slowly,
Sensing the length of your spine.
Allow your awareness to travel up to the top of your head,
And coming down to your forehead,
Temples,
Ears,
Jaw,
Cheeks,
Nose,
Tip of tongue,
Root of tongue,
Throat,
Coming to rest at your heart center.
Allow your awareness to travel through your body,
Sensing the natural rhythm of your breath.
Natural rhythm of your breath.
Sensing the movement,
The sensation of breath.
Begin to invite in the idea of abundance.
Noticing any feelings or emotions that come up when you think of the idea around abundance.
Now begin to invite in the opposite idea of scarcity.
Noticing how your emotions,
How your mind reacts to this idea around scarcity.
Once again,
Coming back to this idea of abundance,
Really feeling what that feels like in your body.
Abundance.
Using your imagination,
Visualize the red leaves of a maple tree.
The red leaves of a maple tree.
Colorful leaves falling to the ground.
Colorful leaves falling to the ground.
A field of orange pumpkins.
A field of orange pumpkins.
A warm pot of tea.
A warm pot of tea.
A gentle fire burning in a wood stove.
A gentle fire burning in a wood stove.
The sun setting over an open field.
The sun setting over an open field.
The crisp,
Cool autumn air.
The crisp,
Cool autumn air.
A harvest moon.
A harvest moon.
In your own time,
You can allow these images to fade away,
Letting go of all of your senses.
Letting go and allowing.
Take a moment to be reminded of your heart's intention.
Connect to it for a moment.
From here,
I wish you a peaceful sleep,
Or a peaceful rest of your day.
Thank you so much for being here with me today for a small celebration of Autumn Equinox.
May you have a peaceful season full of abundance.
