Welcome to the wonder of life.
Today's podcast is about going with the flow of life.
Before you get comfortable we're going to do a little breathing exercise.
As normal it's in through the nose and out through the mouth.
So make sure you get comfortable and that your phone switched on do not disturb.
And if anyone's in the room or around you either ask them to join you or tell them you're going to be busy.
Shut the door and relax.
Now time for the breathing.
Breathing in through the nose and out through the mouth.
In through the nose and out through the mouth.
One more time in through the nose and out through the mouth.
We're now ready to talk about being in the flow.
I decided to do this podcast today because I'm having to go with the flow in my own life.
And like I always say we can only talk about what we experience.
Me going with the flow is something I've struggled with in the past.
I've tried to know everything before an event and I used to find it very difficult to let go.
But last year when I fractured my back I still to this day don't know how that happened.
I ended up realizing that I needed to go with the flow.
Wherever life wanted to take me I had to flow with it.
I left Ibiza quite abruptly and had to come back to London.
When I arrived in London I thought personally I'd be there for maybe three or four weeks.
I haven't been back to Ibiza since and that was in July 2018 and we're now at the end of March in 2019.
I genuinely believe that I would have been back by now.
But life had other plans.
And whenever life has different plans it takes over.
We don't get to say what we want to do.
Life is leading the way.
But when we resist the move or we resist the change that's when we find a real struggle.
I knew because I couldn't walk that there was no other option for me other than to go with the flow.
And when I did and I finally let go everything I needed came to me rather than me going to it.
I found peace on another level.
I had to drop everything I was doing.
I had to put a pause on the businesses.
I had to put a full stop on a radio show,
My dream radio show that I'd been planning to have a breakfast radio show in Ibiza.
And there's nothing else I could have done about it.
It was hard to let go and I felt like I was letting people down as well as myself down.
But I had no other option.
In the process of me leaving Ibiza I also had to lose my dog.
Unfortunately the lady who I actually got the dog from on the island wanted to take him back when I told her I had to leave.
I was absolutely gutted.
For anybody who saw me with the dog you'll fully understand why.
But again I knew life had a different plan.
Wasn't easy but I had to accept it.
I have a business called Sustainable Flow so I guess going with the flow is something I should have probably learnt before now.
But it wasn't.
And in true nat form it took me a little bit longer to learn than most people.
I love to hold on to things.
I used to be a bit of a hoarder.
Now I try and get rid of things as soon as I feel this isn't the right thing.
But it takes practice.
The next big thing I'm about to let go is my home in Ibiza.
I held on to it very expensively since August last year until last week when I decided to really just let it go.
And for those of you who know me as well in Ibiza and who may have seen things on my social media I love my house.
It has the best view I have ever seen.
It has a whole of form and terror,
A deep sea blue and gorgeous sky sits in front of me every morning when I wake up.
But life's got different plans and I had to let that go too.
So I'm on my way to Ibiza on Monday to pack up my boxes and to see where the wind takes me.
I would be lying if I said I wasn't a little nervous.
But ultimately I trust in the direction that I'm going in.
I trust that whatever happens to me will be taking me somewhere far beyond what my mind can create right now.
I have no idea and I'm ready for a surprise.
What I've learned about going with the flow is that even if you are going with the flow other people don't.
Other people around you will say things and will do things that annoy you.
They'll say and they'll do things that may put you off going with the flow.
Because what they ultimately do is put onto you their own fears.
Going with the flow is not easy and it makes lots of people uncomfortable.
So you'll get the odd rejection here or there about why you should not go with the flow.
Why you should plan or why you should organise or why you should prepare yourself.
But the best thing I know about going with the flow is that no one knows where that's going.
And not knowing where you're going is okay.
It's actually quite exciting.
I feel like I'm prepared in many ways to go with the flow.
And I'm luckily enough,
Sorry,
Luckily enough I have my parents' house to stay at for the time being.
I've always loved the idea of maybe going to Barcelona for a week.
Or maybe even being there for a month and seeing if I like it there to live.
Or maybe I can go to South Africa for a month or America for a month and travel around a bit.
But even when I've said that to some people they've said,
Oh,
You're 34.
Do you not think you should be settling down?
And for me the answer is I'm going to go wherever life wants me to go.
I might be 34 and I might have no children or any dependents in any way and I no longer have a dog.
But I do have a dream and the universe knows what that is.
So I'm going to follow that dream and I'm going to follow the flow wherever it takes me.
But the idea of me doing today's podcast was to remind you that things flow when you're living in your joy and you're living from a space of pure creation.
Things flow.
And when they're not flowing,
Likelihood is that you're doing something that you maybe should not be doing.
And I know you might have resistance to that.
I know you might say to me,
Well Nat,
How can I not do my job?
That's how I live.
But if you're struggling with it and it's increasingly harder and harder and harder,
Then you need to take a look at that job and you need to say,
Hold on a minute,
Something's not working.
It's hard sometimes to let go.
I know.
And we think we know the solution or we think we've got to stay somewhere because we're led to believe that if we leave our job,
Oh my God,
What could happen?
I won't have any money.
But you don't know that for certain.
It may be that you decide to let go of your job and instantly something even better comes along.
It's like they always say one door closes,
Another one opens.
But then again,
You could be stood in the hallway in between those doors opening.
And that can be a bit of a bitch sometimes.
Sometimes it takes a while for another door to open.
But in the time,
You can just sit in retrospect and you can see where you went wrong.
You can evaluate your current life situation and maybe make a tiny little plan of what you want to experience moving forward and then follow the flow.
No one knows what's going to happen tomorrow.
Not even the best psychics in the world know what's going to happen tomorrow.
You literally have to seize the day.
You have to take the bull by the horns and say,
I'm going to live today to my fullest.
What can I do differently today that I didn't do yesterday?
And then do it.
And the more you get into the flow of doing this and the more you get in to doing different things and studying different things or going to different places or having different conversations or looking at things in a different way,
The wider your perspective becomes.
The easier things become.
You're not challenged by thoughts or challenged by ideas as much as you used to be.
You get quite comfortable being so open minded and you can let life surprise you.
And here's one tip.
If there is anyone around you that is holding you back from being in your flow.
You need to ask yourself.
Will you forgive this person for holding you back?
Or will you forgive yourself for being held back?
Either way,
You're not moving forward and there is no one to blame other than yourself.
If you want to do something and go and do it.
And if the person around you loves you enough.
They themselves will allow you to go and do it and support you every step of the way.
Doesn't mean you have to lose anything in the process.
And you've got everything to gain.
So for those of you who are thinking of going traveling or moving to maybe Ibiza,
For example,
Or you're thinking of leaving someone or doing something that you haven't done before.
Just go and do it.
You can think about the consequences after you've done it.
And just as I'm talking to you now,
Sat next to the microphone is a tiny little green insect.
I'm saying tiny.
It's actually the size of a penny.
So that's not small.
But yeah,
It's got green wings and it's really cute.
Very strange.
I have to Google that and see if there's a spiritual meaning in the green bug that's just landed on my left boob.
But for the rest of you who are listening to my random chat about a green bug.
I hope I haven't distracted you too much.
Go and check out what you want to do and move forward and don't look back.
And let me know if this has inspired you in any way to reach out and do something different and trust wherever the wind blows,
It knows where it's going.
You don't have to.
Thank you for listening to the wonder of life and going with the flow.
And I'll see you in a week or so for the next episode.

Iโve lived so much of my life like this, in flow, and itโs provided many unique experiences. I just did it basically unknowingly, because I didnโt want to follow the status quo. Now that I have more awareness and insight I choose it even more strategically. Your talk is certainly very informative and inspiring!

Thank you for sharing your story, which in the end is one of faith. In my journey I have sometimes found a gap between what I say I believe, and what my emotions will allow me to do in the moment. Itโs like I have two minds. Slowing down and accepting without resistance often bridges the gap, but I have to have patience.
