We all know that things happen in life the good,

The very very bad and the mundane but sometimes something happens we experience something,

Someone close to us experiences something we hear some news and it's so awful that it really knocks us off our perch it's so awful that daily life in the way we know it can't run,

A sort of a fog descends and we find ourselves struggling to think and feel and make sense of things and be productive in the usual way i suppose the only way i can describe it is as like walking through a dense fog and i'm quite sure that this is the body's way,

The mind's way,

The soul's way of protecting us while we process and you know start to make sense of things but what can happen is there's a tension between that fog that descends and the demands of everyday life so the to-do list remains,

Responsibilities remain,

Work is work and work remains you know and we can find ourselves at a point of tension between where we are and what we're processing,

Trying to make sense of,

Dealing with in some senses and the demands of daily life and so we can find ourselves wanting to clear the fog by frantically waving our arms around,

You know try and drink lots of coffee,

Get some fresh air,

Clear our minds so that we can be productive and we can feel a sense of frustration but what i propose today is that when this happens and it will happen,

It does happen to all of us from time to time we learn to sit with it and perhaps explore a gentler and a kinder way of being,

Way of coexisting in the fog,

Way of accepting that in some way it's here to cushion us temporarily from the blows of life so make yourself comfortable and let's explore this,

Let's see where we go with it it doesn't matter what position you're in check in with the body feeling the aliveness if we're not able to connect with the outside world we can still connect with ourselves feeling the aliveness in the toes any tingling,

Temperature,

Toes against socks,

Shoes,

Slippers,

Floor,

Anything like that feet,

Any tingling,

Throbbing aware that you're alive aware that you're alive a single system working together,

Body,

Mind,

Heart,

Soul legs sensing the legs against any surfaces allowing the legs and feet to hang heavy nowhere to carry you right now pelvic region any tingling,

Throbbing,

Twitching weight of the pelvis weight of the pelvic region against any surface you might be resting on belly digestion sometimes when when it goes down something happens digestion goes away you're dry,

You might be experiencing something like that you're sensing what's there back muscles breath in the belly,

Chest,

Torso area deliberately,

Consciously noticing the rise and fall using it to connect with the body we might be struggling to connect externally but we can connect with ourselves neck and head pressure throbbing feeling the aliveness sometimes there are headaches,

Sleep disruption a general sense of things just not quite firing as they might just sensing whatever's there arms and hands hands full of nerve endings tingling allow the arms and hands to hang heavy feeling and sensing the whole body now alive with nothing else alive reflecting now for a moment on what's happening what has happened,

What you've heard what you're experiencing and if emotion comes up allow sitting together,

All of us with the cards as they've been dealt with life and death as they've been dealt with life as it is sometimes so desperately sad perhaps taking one hand in another placing a hand on the body where it might be comfortable perhaps connecting you to you perhaps being open to consider that today the to-do list might need to be reduced to the bare essentials and that's okay perhaps today it's okay to sit with fog perhaps the sharpness is too sharp perhaps the body,

The soul,

The heart,

The mind the universe mother nature in all her wisdom is loving us and supporting us and will allow the fog to lift at the right time we might like to ask ourselves if we need any additional help or support at the moment either practically,

Emotionally,

In any way perhaps be open to asking for help perhaps be open to asking for support and accepting hearts get heavy and we can't help but feel bodies get heavy heads get woolly a lump forms in the throat a coat of guard such is life and you are not alone we are not alone may you allow yourself to sit with whatever is may you feel supported and know that you're loved and when you're ready and only when you're ready come back to the space around you and thank you so much for practicing with me today
