Hi there,
My name is Bill and welcome to this new restful sleep meditation entitled The Seasons of Light,
A long soothing meditation inspired by the warmth,
Renewal and ease of spring and summer.
I'm so glad you're here.
Now before we begin and set out on our journey towards a restful sleep,
I would like for you to take a moment to settle into a comfortable position,
Whether it's lying down,
Sitting or just resting in whatever way feels best for your body right now.
Let your shoulders soften,
Let your jaw loosen,
Let your breath slow down just a little.
This meditation is a gentle journey through the feelings of spring and summer,
Seasons of renewal,
Warmth,
Light and ease.
As you listen,
You may drift in and out.
You may feel your body grow heavier.
You may also fall asleep or simply rest deeply.
There is no right or wrong way to experience this.
Just allow yourself to be here,
In this moment,
With nothing to do and nowhere to go.
Take a slow,
Deep breath in,
Hold it and exhale fully,
Letting your whole body begin to unwind.
Imagine now that you're standing at the edge of a quiet meadow in early spring.
The air is cool but gentle,
The kind of coolness that feels refreshing and full of possibility.
The grass beneath your feet is soft and damp with morning dew.
Tiny wildflowers are just beginning to bloom,
Their colors delicate and new.
You take a slow step forward.
The earth feels alive beneath you,
Steady,
Supportive and full of quiet energy.
Above you,
The sky is a pale,
Soft blue.
A few clouds drift lazily across it,
Moving slowly,
Peacefully.
You breathe in the scent of spring,
Fresh grass,
New blossoms,
A hint of rain in the air.
And with each breath,
You feel a sense of renewal washing over you,
A sense of beginning again,
A sense of gentle awakening.
You walk slowly through the meadow,
Noticing the small details of spring,
The way the sunlight glows through young leaves,
The sound of birds returning,
The soft rustle of new life all around you.
And every step brings you deeper into calm,
Deeper into presence,
Deeper into yourself.
A soft breeze moves through the meadow,
Brushing lightly against your skin.
It carries the scent of blossoms,
Cherry,
Apple,
Lilac,
Each one subtle and sweet.
The breeze feels like a gentle invitation to let go,
To release the heaviness of winter,
To soften the tight places inside you.
You breathe in and out slowly,
Letting the breeze move through you,
Clearing space,
Creating ease.
With each inhale,
Imagine drawing in fresh spring air,
Cool,
Clean,
Renewing.
And with each exhale,
Imagine releasing anything that no longer serves you,
Stress,
Tension,
Worry.
All of it melts away with the breeze,
Leaving you feeling lighter,
Cleaner,
More open.
As you continue walking,
You notice a narrow path lined with blossoming trees.
Petals drift gently through the air,
Falling like soft,
Colorful snow.
You step onto the path,
Feeling the petals brush against your skin as they float downward.
The trees arch overhead,
Forming a natural tunnel of pinks,
Whites and soft yellows.
Sunlight filters through the blossoms,
Creating warm patches of light on the ground.
You walk slowly,
Letting the beauty of the moment surround you.
Each step feels peaceful.
Each breath feels easy.
Each moment feels like a quiet gift.
You pause for a moment and look up.
The blossoms sway gently in the breeze,
Shimmering in the sunlight.
You feel a sense of gratitude rise within you.
Gratitude for this moment,
For this breath,
For this peaceful space you've created for yourself.
As you reach the end of the blossom path,
The air begins to warm.
The coolness of spring softens into the gentle heat of early summer.
The sunlight grows richer,
Warmer and more golden.
You step into a wide open field,
Filled with tall grass that sways slowly in the breeze.
The warmth of summer wraps around you like a soft blanket,
Comforting,
Grounding and familiar.
You breathe in deeply,
Feeling the warmth fill your chest and exhale,
Letting your whole body soften.
Summer is a season of ease,
A season of long days and slow evenings.
A season of rest,
Warmth and gentle joy.
You allow yourself to sink into that feeling,
The feeling of being held by the warmth of the world.
Ahead of you,
You see a shimmering lake.
The water is calm,
Smooth like glass,
Reflecting the bright blue sky above.
You walk toward it,
Feeling the grass brush softly against your legs.
When you reach the edge of the lake,
You sit down on a warm,
Smooth rock.
The sunlight warms your skin.
The air is filled with the soft hum of summer insects.
The world feels slow,
Peaceful and full of gentle life.
You dip your fingers into the water.
It's cool,
Refreshing,
Soothing.
You close your eyes and breathe in the scent of summer,
Warm earth,
Sunlit grass,
The faint sweetness of wildflowers.
With each breath,
You feel your body relax more deeply.
Your shoulders soften.
Your chest opens.
Your mind quiets.
You sit by the lake,
Simply breathing,
Simply being.
Now,
Imagine yourself lying back on a small wooden dock that extends into the lake.
The wood is warm beneath you.
The air is soft and still.
The sky above you is a deep,
Endless blue.
You feel weightless,
As if the warmth of the sun is lifting you,
Holding you,
Supporting you completely.
Your breath becomes slow and steady.
Your body feels heavy and relaxed.
Your mind drifts gently,
Like a leaf floating on calm water.
You listen to the soft sounds of summer.
The distant call of a bird.
The gentle ripple of water against the dock.
The quiet hum of life all around you.
Everything feels slow.
Everything feels peaceful.
And everything feels exactly as it should be.
As time passes,
The sun begins to lower in the sky.
The light shifts from bright gold to soft amber,
Then to warm pinks and purples.
The lake glows with the colors of sunset,
Shimmering gently with each small ripple.
You sit up slowly,
Watching the sky change.
The air cools slightly,
Brushing softly against your skin.
You feel calm.
You feel grounded.
You feel deeply at peace.
The sunset reminds you that every day has a natural rhythm.
A beginning,
A middle,
And an end.
And just like the day,
You too can soften into rest.
As the sun dips below the horizon,
A gentle evening breeze moves across the lake.
It carries the warmth of the day and the coolness of the night in perfect balance.
You breathe it in and exhale slowly,
Feeling your whole body settle into deep relaxation.
The sky darkens into a soft twilight blue.
Stars begin to appear,
One by one.
You lie back again,
Letting the night sky hold you.
Your breath is slow.
Your body is heavy.
Your mind is quiet.
You feel safe.
You feel calm.
You feel ready to rest.
Let the warmth of spring and summer stay with you.
Let the ease of these seasons settle into your body.
Let yourself drift,
Slowly,
Gently,
Into a deep,
Peaceful sleep.
