Hello and welcome.

My name is Morgan Norvell,

The owner and founder of Bedding Lotus Meditation.

And today,

I'm going to be taking you through a meditation that's focused on being open to change.

To begin our meditation,

I'd like you to find a comfortable position,

Either seated in a chair or on the floor,

Or lying down.

Whatever is comfortable for your body,

And whatever you feel like you can sustain for the next 10 minutes.

Next,

I want you to allow your eyes to just gently close here,

And begin with three grounding breaths.

We're going to inhale through our nose,

Slow and controlled,

And exhale out of our mouth,

Slow and controlled.

Go ahead and begin with our inhale,

And exhale.

Inhale,

Breathing in deeper now,

And exhale,

Slow and controlled.

Our final inhale here,

Breathing in as deeply as we can,

And exhaling fully and completely.

Remain in control as you release this breath.

Good.

As you settle into this space and time,

I'd like you to just connect with your body,

Picking up any sensations of tension or tightness,

And just dismissing them.

Allow yourself to soften here,

And relax,

And give your mind and body a space to refresh.

Good.

Let's begin by visualizing ourselves sitting out in an open field.

As we sit here in this space,

We feel calm.

We feel a sense of peace,

And a sense of inner stillness.

Most importantly,

We feel safe to just be,

To relax,

And just exist as we are,

With no judgment.

As we sit in this space,

We start to notice a butterfly that floats gently into our field of vision.

As we take in all of its beauty,

All of the life that it possesses,

We see it gently stop for a break as it rests in our hand.

We feel honored and blessed to be able to observe such a creature up close.

We gently bring the butterfly closer to our face so that we could observe it more closely.

We're astonished with its vibrant colors and delicate nature,

And find ourselves wanting to tighten our grasp.

But something in us yells no.

And unreluctantly,

We open our hand and watch as the butterfly flies away.

Life is quite similar to this experience in regards to our desire to want to keep things just as they are because we have found such beauty and comfort in them.

But just like the voice that yelled out to say no,

We know that if we were to hold on too tightly,

Or to tighten our grasp around this butterfly,

We would have crushed the very essence of what made that butterfly special.

We had to be willing and open to letting the butterfly roam freely for us to truly appreciate it and all of its beauty.

This too is the same with life.

Oftentimes when we know something,

We want to hold on to it for dear life,

Not giving it a chance to ever change or evolve.

This in turn ruins the essence of the thing that we once appreciated most.

It does not allow for our life to have space and room for it to evolve and grow and bring us to a new place.

We must be open to allowing things to flow out of our life,

Holding on to nothing else but the hope that something will return.

Inhale and exhale.

It can be difficult for us to just sit in this space waiting and hoping that something comes back to choose us once again.

So I want to offer you a change in perspective.

Life is not happening to you.

Life is happening for you.

When you choose to be fully immersed in where you are,

Instead of waiting for something to happen to you,

You can begin to see how much in your life is happening for you.

When you allow yourself to live and appreciate the process,

Instead of rushing towards a destination,

You can create a space and a life that is always full of meaning.

You can create something that you have always been waiting for because it's always lived within you.

You simply just had to acknowledge that it was there.

You are not in waiting.

You are not expecting something to happen to you.

You simply are.

And whatever is meant for you will float back into your field of vision.

It will float into your life effortlessly and freely.

And it will leave you when it's time making space and room for all that is meant to you to find you once again.

Inhale and exhale.

Before we leave this meditation,

I'd like you to bring movement to your fingers and toes.

Gently move your neck.

When you are ready to leave this space,

Open your eyes.

Good.

You've done excellent work today.

I hope you remember the lessons that you've learned.

And remember that life is happening for you and not to you.

That you are an active member,

The main character even,

Of your own story.

Step into that power.

Step into your role.

And stop waiting for someone outside of you to choose you.

Choose you every day and every moment.

Really enjoyed this! From the visualization to the message. πŸ™πŸΌ I had the volume on as high as my phone would go so I wish it was louder. Maybe I’ll try again with a headset
