Anger tends to cling on to us, staying longer than it's welcome. Over time we can adopt this anger as a part of our identity making it impossible to separate who we are with who we used to be. This meditation will help clear space so you can show up as who you want to be versus who you had to be. Release your feelings of anger, rage, frustration and resentment and create a new narrative.

Transcript

Hello,

My name is Morgan Norvell and I'm going to be guiding you through a meditation on helping you remove stagnant anger or frustration or resentment.

So to begin,

I'd like you to find a comfortable position,

Either lying down or seated in a chair,

Something that you can be comfortable in.

Once you get into this position,

I want you to allow your eyes to gently come to a close.

Let's begin by taking an inhale deep through our nose and then exhaling,

Slowing controls out through our mouth.

Good.

Continue to breathe like this at a pace that meets your needs and allow your body to kind of soften and relax.

We're going to continue in this way for three more breath cycles.

So just allow yourself to move at a pace that works for you.

Good.

Once you have made it through this breathing cycle,

I want you to just return back to your regular rate of breathing.

Don't think about it.

Just allow yourself to be and function as you were designed to do.

From here,

I want you to begin to visualize with me your body in a safe space,

An area that is clear and free of any distractions,

A safe where you feel comfortable and safe,

Where you also feel like the outside world is protected and blocked from you so that you can do the healing work that you need to do without judgment from others or fear of hurting loved ones that are around you.

To begin,

I want you to revisit memories and experiences from which your anger,

Resentment,

Frustration,

Rage even stem from.

I want you to do so in a way that allows those feelings to boil up to the surface.

You can recall these memories in as great a detail as you need to for you to fully feel these emotions.

For some of you,

It may not take any recall of memory.

Those feelings might just always be there right below the surface waiting for you to burst.

As we meditate together during this time,

I want you to know that you have permission to release these feelings.

You have permission to allow these feelings to boil over and spill.

You have permission to be messy in the space that you've created in your mind.

You have permission to feel every inch of the anger,

Frustration,

Rage,

And resentment that you've been harboring for so long.

Allow it to boil up to the surface and expel itself from you.

Allow the feelings that have grown to be comfortable being a part of your identity and your story of who you are to grow so big that they have no other option but to leave your physical space.

They have no other option but to leave your mind and move out into the space that you've created.

As you release these feelings and allow them to leave you,

Know that you are safe and that these emotions once outside of you have no power.

You are its fuel source.

And once you kick these feelings out,

Only you and you alone can keep them alive.

And you have an option to allow these feelings to dissipate into the mist or to hold on to them.

And if you decide to hold on to them or feel as if you are not ready to release them out of feelings of uncertainty of who you may be without them,

I'd like to open you up to the idea that by clearing out this space,

By releasing these emotions and feelings,

You are creating room for yourself to be the person that you've always wanted to be,

The person that you may have thought that you couldn't be at one point in time.

By clearing this space,

You are giving yourself the opportunity to experience something other than these feelings that have resided with you for so long.

I hope you give yourself a chance to start anew,

To defang and push out these feelings that are no longer serving you.

Inhale and exhale.

Really feel how releasing these emotions creates a sense of lightness,

A sense of hope in your being,

Now that you are no longer tied down or anchored to these feelings and emotions that don't serve you or meet your needs.

As we let these feelings go,

We start to notice that the space around us that we've created or all those feelings were released into is beginning to clear as we reflect on the work that we've done in this space.

I hope you take note of how the anger and resentment and rage that you used to hold,

That used to be so aggressively loud within your mind and body,

Has withered into ash around you,

Has just completely dissipated into the mist because you removed it from your life's energy.

As you sit and look out into the space we've created,

You'll see that there is nothing around you.

Within side of you and in the space around you,

There is now a new canvas,

A blank slate for you to begin again and show up as the person you've always hoped to be but never believed that you could.

Inhale and exhale.

Before we leave this space,

I want you to know that if you feel like there is residual anger and frustration and resentment or rage still left in your being,

That is okay.

It takes time to remove something that has had such a grip on us,

Something that was so powerful that it changed our way of thought and being.

So I want you to know that you are more than welcome to revisit this meditation and use it so that you can be free completely and finally of all those feelings that no longer serve you,

No matter how dark and twisted you feel that they may be.

Finally,

I'd like you to extend a bit of gratitude,

A bit of gratitude towards yourself for being open to this experience and creating space for yourself to heal and evolve and grow.

I want you to extend gratitude for yourself for having a vision of who you want to be and where you want to be and trying to invest in it even if you are not 100% certain of how you're going to get there.

Taking steps just like this one is what will get you there little by little.

You'll give yourself a pat on the back and a big thank you for showing up.
