Hello and welcome.

My name is Morgan Norvell,

Owner and founder of Budding Lotus Meditation.

And today we are going to be doing a meditation on acceptance and living our lives with authenticity.

I want you to first start off by finding a comfortable position,

Either seated on the ground or in a chair or even lying down.

Something that's comfortable for you that you can sustain for the next 10 or so minutes.

Once you get settled here,

I want you to allow your eyes to close gently.

We're going to begin with three deep inhales and exhales.

Breathing in through our nose and exhaling,

Slow and controlled,

Out through our mouth.

Inhale and exhale.

Inhale a little bit deeper now and exhale,

Slow and controlled.

Finally,

I'd like you to fill your lungs to capacity as much as you can,

Slow and controlled though,

Feeling through our nose and exhaling fully through our mouth,

Slowly and controlled.

To begin this meditation,

I'd like you to visualize yourself seated or lying in a safe space.

This environment could be warm and sunny,

Surrounding you in plush grass.

You could be in water,

Feeling the gentle caress of each ripple and wave make contact with your skin.

You could be someplace warm and cozy,

Under tons of blankets,

Surrounded by soft plushness.

Regardless of what that environment looks like or feels like,

Know that you are safe here.

You're free to be yourself in completion and entirety.

You are allowed to be exactly who you are.

As you sit in this space,

I'd like you to visualize a version of yourself that is free of all the imperfections or flaws that you believe about yourself.

I want you to visualize what that person looks like and have them sit in front of you to the left.

Next,

I'd like you to visualize a version of you that is only your flaws and imperfections.

As you bring that image to life,

Allow it,

Allow them to sit in front of you to the right.

As all three versions of you sit together and commune,

I'd like you to really look into the face of the perfect version of you.

What about this being do you feel makes them perfect?

Is it the lack of flaws?

Is it the energy that they hold?

Is it a belief that they are no longer burdened with flaws,

With imperfections,

So they are inherently better?

Regardless of your response,

I want you to really sit with it.

Next,

I'd like you to look in the face of a version of you that is flawed,

That has all of your imperfections.

And I want you to ask yourself,

Why do you feel that this version of you is less deserving of good things?

Is it because someone told you that they're worth less because of these imperfections and flaws?

Is it because of the energy they carry?

Is it because of the way that these imperfections and flaws make you feel low and small and insignificant?

Regardless of the response,

Really sit with it.

As you sit in this space with these two versions of yourselves,

I want you to start to make reconciliation with the version of you that you feel is flawed and imperfect and apologize to it.

Say that you're sorry for the lack of space you created.

Say that you're sorry for being ashamed,

For allowing yourself to hide this version of yourself out of fear,

Out of fear of rejection.

Because believe it or not,

This version of you is still deserving,

Has always been deserving,

And will always be deserving of all the good that life has to offer.

In light of your flaws,

In light of those imperfections,

Even because of those imperfections,

That version of you is deserving.

As we turn our focus towards the perfect version of ourselves,

I'd like you to really take a good look at that version of you and see just how fragile and delicate that version of you is.

The perfect version of you has no space.

The perfect version of you has very little room for error.

The slightest interaction with this version could shatter it completely because what we all know to be true is that perfection is unrealistic.

This version of you is unsustainable and is not capable of being the home that all of you in totality and completion deserves,

And most importantly needs to thrive and show acceptance to yourself.

I want you to release this version of you,

Allow it to shatter and fall away from your mind,

Because it is no longer an option for you,

It never has been.

And even times where you found yourself trying to fit into that delicate,

Gentle mold,

You found yourself breaking it because it was never meant to be.

As you sit now with just one other version of you,

I'd like you to visualize both of you coming together in harmony,

In peace,

In acceptance,

Because you know now that those limitations and flaws aren't what's holding you back.

They're actually what's necessary and needed for you to live a life that is authentic,

A life that is true to who you really are,

A life that embraces and holds space for you,

For real you.

As you guys come together in harmony,

I'd like you to visualize a bright,

Warming light fusing you two together.

You feel joyous and proud and free to finally be able to embody all that you are.

You feel overwhelmed with joy and peace,

An inner peace that you have not known before,

Because you finally accept every aspect of your being.

As you sit now as one complete being,

I'd like you to allow your body to be enveloped and resonate with this new energy of self-acceptance and self-love.

You have been and always will be deserving of knowing an energy like this,

An energy that is warm and caring and all-encompassing of exactly who you are.

Inhale deeply as you settle into this space and release any lingering doubts or inhibitions.

There is simply no space for them.

Before we end this meditation,

I want you to know that you are safe to go out into the world fully embodying all that you are,

Every aspect of your being.

To leave this meditation,

I'd like you to bring gentle movement to your fingers,

Your toes,

And when you're ready,

Open your eyes.

Good.

I hope you found this meditation to be inspiring and motivating.

I hope you use this meditation as a sounding block for any time that you doubt yourself and any time that you feel like who you are and completion is not enough,

Because you have always been and always will be more than enough.
