Welcome to your full moon release meditation.
Come to a comfortable seat.
Feel the point of contact your body makes with the surface beneath you.
Let your spine be long.
Gently close your eyes.
Bring your awareness to your breath.
Notice the rise and fall of your chest and belly.
Notice the temperature of your breath as it enters and leaves your nostrils.
Be aware of the length of your inhales and exhales.
Feel the sensation of breathing in and breathing out.
Let go of any tension you may be feeling.
Allow your body to soften and relax.
Imagine yourself in a secluded,
Tranquil forest.
The night air is crisp.
Leaves have turned.
You hear them crunch under your feet as you move down the undisturbed trail.
The sky above you is dark and clouded.
The chill of the wind moves through you.
You notice the leaves make the trees seem heavy,
Burdened.
They no longer serve their purpose.
You start to feel a heaviness within.
The weight of what ceases to fulfill your needs.
Your awareness shifts inward as you begin to think of all the things that no longer make you happy.
You hear a gentle commotion on your wooded path.
The trees begin to shed their leaves.
The clouds start to roll by,
Revealing a glimpse of the moon.
This moon shines a light on what you must shed in order to make room in your life.
Where are you spending your time and energy?
What is it keeping you from?
As the leaves continue to fall,
The clouds dissipate,
Uncovering a starlit sky and a bright,
Radiant full moon.
Take a deep breath in,
Gathering within it what you wish to release.
You know what you need to do.
Exhale letting go of the heaviness.
Continue to breathe in this way for as long as you need.
With each inhale,
Feel yourself with the bright light of the moon.
With each exhale,
Feel lighter,
Unrestrained.
Return to your natural breath,
Noticing how it feels to let go,
To create space within.
You thank the moon for illuminating within you what you no longer needed and make your way home.
Gently deepen your breath.
Allow your awareness to return to your surroundings.
When you feel ready,
Open your eyes.
