Connecting with the element of air, we will escape from our physical bodies to enter a realm beyond ourselves. Using the visualizations in this guided meditation, you will feel refreshed and ready to return to your physical body. Whenever you need a mental vacation, use this meditation to truly get away.

Transcript

So let's settle in and start with some gentle breathing.

You want to find a position where you can sit comfortably with your back straight and your hands in your lap.

You might close your eyes and start to breathe naturally in and out through the nose.

Softly coming into that space where you can connect with your inner essence,

Your inner knowing,

Your inner wisdom.

That dark,

Quiet,

Peaceful place within that exists within all of us.

Then we'll activate the practice with three deep belly breaths.

When you're ready,

Inhale,

Fully expand the lungs,

Filling the entire belly with breath up to the chest,

The throat,

Holding the breath at the top.

And then out fully letting go.

In fully expanding,

Letting the belly and the ribs rise,

Holding the top of that breath.

Slowly exhale out.

One more just like that slowly,

Fully inhale and exhale.

Now let's start to visualize many layers of ourselves.

Our physical selves,

Emotional selves,

Our ego,

The logical thinking body.

All of these layers make us who we are.

And sometimes we just want to get away,

To step outside of ourselves and separate from that for any reason.

Any meditation we can do that.

So picture yourself sitting exactly where you are in this moment.

Notice that person sitting there in that chair,

In that room.

Notice the hairs,

Smells,

Sounds of your breath coming in and out.

Notice if you can feel your heart beating in your chest,

Any moisture in your palms,

Just really notice your physical body from the outside if you are looking at yourself separately.

Now visualize a shadow of yourself separating from your physical body.

Getting further and further away from that physical body,

Sitting on the chair in the chair in those clothes.

Keep going,

Turning away from that body for a moment,

Knowing that it will be there when you are ready to come back.

Keep moving away from that physical body that you can now see sitting from afar,

Distant,

Just a speck.

And allow that person,

That physical body to just sit over there and just be.

It's not negative,

It's not positive,

It's totally neutral.

And then allow yourself to be totally neutral as well,

Separate from the physical body.

In this moment you get to be a pure channel of whatever is happening around you,

Like a rock.

It doesn't feel,

It simply is.

Allow the winds to wash over your shoulders,

Over your back.

Do not react.

Do not allow thoughts to enter your psyche.

Stay 100% neutral,

Separate from this physical body.

Now it's time to shed the ego and the logical thinking body as well.

So picture your brain,

Where it sits inside that physical body.

Realize the network of neurons firing and connecting to make your ideas and your thoughts come to life.

Now picture all of that activity coming to a halt,

No more thoughts,

No thinking.

Leave that brain behind and set the ego self aside.

Your thoughts will be there when you're ready to return.

Keep separating.

Allow your thoughts,

Your brain self,

Your mental body to just rest where it is in quiet silence,

Letting it recharge as you take some time to separate.

And now it's time to separate from the emotional body where fear,

Love,

Worry,

They don't exist anymore.

When we separate from the emotional body,

There is no feelings of positivity,

There are no feelings of negativity either.

It's just neutral.

And if thoughts try to enter your brain activity again,

It could trigger a reaction.

But don't react.

Separate from your emotions and know that they'll be there when you get back.

Now let's keep going.

All that's left is the spirit and the air and you are pure air.

Allow the particles of the self to be carried off and spread along the extended space above,

Below and all around.

Allow yourself to leave all other bodies and selves behind for a moment and give yourself this unique opportunity to truly get away,

To truly get away from yourself if that's what you're looking to do.

Merge with light and air,

Become as thin as a whisper.

Fully disperse your energy and separate all the layers of your being,

Seeing them for what they are,

Layers,

Layers of personality and emotions packed with cells,

Tissues and organs.

But right now you are floating,

Floating in the ether,

Dissolving into atomic particles of light,

Spreading far,

Spreading wide,

Forever and endless.

As you move through this expansion,

This ultimate freedom floating everywhere,

You are now aware.

You see yourself,

Your physical self down there in that chair,

In that room.

Your physical body,

Your hair,

Your smells,

Your ego mind,

Your creative and logical thoughts and your emotional body too,

All of it waiting for you to return whenever you like.

And there's absolutely no rush to come out of this meditation,

But allow yourself to fully integrate back into the body,

Sending those particles of light into the body,

Into the physical body,

Inviting your emotional body back into the feeling room and then connecting once more with your thoughts,

Your brain activity.

You might feel where your feet touch the ground,

Where your seat touches the chair,

Where your back touches the surface of what you're leaning against.

And you're ready to open your eyes,

Wiggle your fingers and toes and be in this body,

Be grateful to be in this body,

Grateful for the layers of personality and emotions and thoughts that you have because they're beautiful,

All of it together,

Integrated,

Special and unique and perfect.
