A peace invocation is a powerful invocation from the Isha Upanishad,

Purnamadhah Purnamidam.

It highlights the concept of completeness and wholeness.

This mantra is widely used in yoga and meditation practices to remind us of the inherent completeness and perfection in the universe and within ourselves.

The invitation is to choose a serene and quiet environment where you feel at peace.

Sit comfortably either cross-legged on the floor or maybe on a chair with your feet grounded.

Keep your spine erect but relaxed.

Shoulders soft and hands resting on your knees or in a mudra of choice.

At this point you may want to close your eyes gently or soften your gaze.

Take a few deep breaths inhaling through the nose and exhaling through the mouth.

Let your body settle into stillness.

We begin by chanting Aum three times.

With each Aum feel the vibrations resonate through your body and mind aligning you with the universal energy.

After the third Aum pause in silence for a few moments to let the vibrations settle.

Recite the mantra slowly either aloud or silently in your mind or you can just listen to it.

As you chant or listen to it feel the meaning of the mantra,

The eternal fullness and completeness of the universe,

The interconnectedness of all existence and the peace that emanates from this understanding.

You may want to sync the recitation with your breath.

Inhale feel the completeness Purnam.

Exhale release any lack of or separations.

We can now reflect on the meaning of this mantra.

That the universal source is complete.

This,

The individual self,

Is complete.

From fullness,

Fullness arises.

Taking fullness from fullness.

What remains is fullness.

Imagine a boundless ocean where each drop represents the whole ocean.

You too are an expression of this fullness.

And with this reflection in mind we will chant the mantra again.

Purnam And allowing it to permeate your entire being.

Now with this reflection and this mantra in your mind you may want to spend few moments in the state of meditative absorption.

Picture a radiant infinite light filling the space around and within you.

With each breath feel this light spreading,

Dissolving all boundaries and merging you with the infinite.

Let this visualization reinforce the truth of unity and completeness.

Let's be here for few moments.

We'll now end the meditation by chanting Om Shanti.

Om Shanti Shanti Shanti Peace and body,

Mind and spirit.

You can be here or you can open your eyes gently.

Bringing awareness back to your surrounding.

Carry the essence of the mantras teaching into your daily life.

Reminding yourself of the inherent fullness in every moment and being.

As this meditation nurtures a profound awareness of the infinite wholeness that resides within and around us.

Fostering peace and equanimity.

Namaste
