What if everything you consider to be your solid, dense body is actually a fluid cloud of sensations appearing in the vast space of your awareness? This profound guided meditation takes you on a journey through the "river of sensations"—a transformative exploration that dissolves the illusion of physical solidity and reveals the impermanent, pulsating nature of all bodily experience. Through the metaphor of rising water that awakens every part of your body, you'll discover that what you call "your body" is actually an ever-changing flow of sensations with no fixed boundaries. More importantly, you'll recognize yourself as the unmoving presence—the space in which this entire dance of sensations appears and disappears without leaving a trace. This isn't just body awareness—this is a direct encounter with the fluid nature of reality itself, where the boundaries between self and world, inside and outside, completely dissolve.

For today's session as well,

I insist we keep our eyes gently closed.

Let this world of shapes,

Colors,

Forms disappear for a little while and let the inner world be illuminated,

Just like the outer world needs light to be illuminated.

This inner world needs your presence to be illuminated.

The instructions for today's session are pretty straight forward,

We don't need any reference to the past,

Discard anything stale and stay fresh in the moment as we explore the truth within the framework of our body,

Objectively,

Which means what matters is only what is there now.

What matters is only whether it is true in our experience.

An important note about objective observation is that there is no need to comment about what is going on.

What is important is what is going on,

Not the commentary about it,

Not the verbalization or the visualization about it.

All visualization comes from the past and there is no room for the past in this exploration.

All verbalization is subjective,

There is no room for subjective in this exploration.

So relax your eyes underneath your eyelids.

These instructions don't have to be rational,

What is important is the observation.

Don't get distracted by some words that don't make sense or that your mind disagrees with.

Now that our housekeeping rules are done,

We can dive straight in.

Imagine you are sitting on the banks of a river with your eyes closed,

Listening to me.

Slowly,

The water starts approaching the banks of the river,

It's level,

Keeps rising.

The water touches the soles of your feet,

Mind you the water is cold,

But harmless.

So stay with the instruction,

Not with the fear.

As the water touches the soles of your feet,

The sensations arise or rather the sensations make themselves visible to you.

So become aware of the sensations in the soles of your feet,

Even the gaps between your toes.

As the water rises,

The top of your feet starts waking up.

Feel the sensations in your feet,

The top of your feet,

The top of your toes.

Resist the temptation to superimpose the image of what your toes look like and feel the sensations from inside.

The superimposition is a figment of your imagination,

With eyes closed you have no idea what your toes look like right now.

Don't miss any part of your feet,

Your heel,

The water slowly rises to your ankle until your feet up to your ankles are completely submerged in the river of sensations.

There is no perceptible separation between your feet,

The sensations in your feet,

The ground on which your feet lay and the imaginary water around it.

The sensations,

The heavy sensations,

The dense sensations at the bottom of your feet have a different feel than the ankle of yours.

Don't think too much,

Just observe the sensations as the water rises to your calves,

The middle of your calves,

Waking up a few more inches of your legs.

Don't get into a conversation with your sensations.

Objective observations means no indulgence,

No rejection either.

Slowly the water rises to your knees,

Feel your legs from the inside,

Feel the sensations all around.

No part of your legs underneath your knees is asleep anymore.

The river of sensations has devoured the solidity of your legs.

As the water moves,

Your knees are completely submerged,

The back of your knees are completely submerged.

As the water moves from your left knee and slowly starts inching towards your groin,

Left groin,

The river of sensations devouring your left leg little by little.

Feel the sensations of your left thigh,

Inner thigh,

Bottom thigh,

Outer thigh.

Slowly waking up,

Covered in sensations,

Now the water starts rising to your right knee,

Slowly inching towards your right groin.

Become aware of your sensations on your thigh,

Right thigh,

Inner,

Outer,

Lower thigh.

Slowly moving all around,

Feel your left butt cheek as the water reaches the cold water,

Triggering the sensations.

Don't be in a rush,

Slowly familiarize yourself to your sensations,

Your right butt cheek,

Resist the temptation to visualize anything.

Slowly the water rises through your genitals and everything below your waist is completely covered with water,

With this river of sensations.

Similar to the density of the soles of your feet,

The density of the butt feels different,

But there is no separation between your legs,

The ground,

The chair.

Everything has been devoured by this river of sensations.

Slowly inching to the upper back,

Left shoulder blade,

Right shoulder blade,

Everything below your left armpit,

Right armpit.

Water rising through your belly,

The entire belly left to right,

Including the belly button.

The sensations of your breathing are merging with the sensations of your belly,

Slowly inching up,

Middle of your chest,

Your heart,

The right side of your chest.

Moving up slowly,

The rise and fall of the chest from the in-breath and out-breath is all merging together with the sensations in your chest,

In your ribcage.

Moving up slowly,

The rise and fall of the chest from the in-breath and out-breath is all merging together with the sensations in your chest,

In your ribcage,

To your left shoulder,

To your right shoulder.

Your left hand has already melted into the sensations in your thighs,

The palm of the left hand,

The fingers,

Wrist.

Anything that your arm is touching with your torso is all merged together.

Other than the density,

There is no perceptible difference.

As your left hand is devoured by the sensations of this river,

This water creeping up through your left elbow to your left shoulder,

Your right palm,

Your right hand completely submerged,

Pulsating.

Throbbing with sensations as sensations.

Any place your elbow,

Your forearm is touching your thighs or your chair is only a thick cloud of sensations.

Slowly moving up through your right elbow,

Through your right armpit,

To your right shoulder,

This river of sensations has completely covered everything below the shoulders.

Don't get enamored by any of these sensations.

Notice how they are just pulsating,

Coming and going.

Impermanence is their nature.

Fluidity is their nature.

Slowly the river rises through your throat,

Through your neck,

The inside of your throat,

The inside of your chest,

The inside of your belly.

Inside of your mouth,

Your tongue,

Your jaw.

Do not visualize.

Stay with this truth of your exploration right now.

The truth of the sensations.

The impermanence and fluidity of your sensations.

The inside of your left ear.

The outside of your left ear.

Inside of your nose.

Inside your left eye.

Right eye.

Inside of your right ear.

Outside of your right ear.

Inside the back of your head.

Your forehead.

Inside of your forehead.

Your entire upper head.

You are completely covered in sensations.

Drowned in sensations.

Your breath,

Your body have become one with the sensations.

The earth on which your feet are resting,

The chair in which your butt is resting,

Have all become one with these sensations.

These sensations are throbbing.

As every sensation that is triggered,

That has become wet by this river,

I want you to see if you are wet.

Are you throbbing with these sensations or are you the one noticing?

These sensations.

Are you inside this body or are these sensations inside the space of you?

These sensations are an anchor to bring you back here.

As you venture into the world of thoughts,

Escaping this discomfort of sensations,

Or being lost in the pleasure of these sensations,

This pulsation brings you back into the now.

Where you witness everything arising,

Pulsating,

Moving.

Where you come face to face with the impermanence of your sensations,

Your thoughts,

The perception of my voice.

But you also come face to face with your presence.

The unmoving space.

The space where everything can arise and dissolve.

Everything that arises leaves no mark,

Leaves no trace as it passes away.

What we consider our body to be,

A dense structure with solid lines,

Can be seen for what it is.

A cloud of sensations.

Fluid.

While you are the space in which the cloud appears,

All your feelings,

All your emotions,

All your fear,

Anger,

Surrender it to this river of sensations.

Let this river cleanse you.

Let every part of your space be revealed to you.

Let every sensation be revealed to you as an impermanent,

Pulsating sensation.

There is no inside,

There is no outside.

There is only this.

There is only you.

Let this river of sensations wash you.

Every nook and cranny of you.

Offer all thoughts to this space.

Offer all sensations to this space.

Observe how the sound of my voice appears and disappears in this space of you.

Thank you.
