In these sessions, we will use five directed prompts to consider within the realm of expressing gratitude rather than a blanket statement that can often not resonate with many people. These directed prompts are specific, yet open to your interpretation and life experience.

Welcome to your session today.

My name is Shanna Moyer,

And this is a daily gratitude session.

It's not going to be the flowery,

Cheesy,

List five things that you're grateful for type gratitude,

But more of an exploration in dedicated prompts for you to explore the things that you are grateful for today.

As you arrive into your space using your body and your breath,

Settle down,

Tune in,

Listen to all of the things that you need today.

Set yourself up in a comfortable but alert position.

You can choose what that looks like for you.

And my hope is that you listen to your body.

What do you need today?

How do you need to be supported in this journey of gratitude?

When you feel comfortable,

When you feel supported and grounded,

Closing the windows of your eyes and simply breathing down,

Down into the lowest point of contact that your body makes with the earth,

Recognizing that as a stable foundation that your body is on today,

You are supported by all of the things that surround you,

Physical and not.

And I'd like just for a moment for you to consider this element of gratitude and how expressing gratitude every single day for very specific things can change the course of your mindset,

Which in turn can change the course of your day.

Now I said we are going to consider very specific things to express daily gratitude for.

There are five things that I'm going to mention.

The first of these five things is someone that you are grateful for.

Bring them to mind.

See their face in your mind's eye and say,

Thank you.

Maybe there is someone that has been exceptionally supportive of you lately.

Someone who has an unwavering belief in you.

This is an opportunity to start that process of gratitude towards them.

The second piece of gratitude is something that you are grateful for,

An object that makes a difference in the quality of life that you lead every single day.

What is something that you are grateful for?

The third thing to consider under the umbrella of gratitude is an experience.

What experience in your life has made you feel grateful to be alive?

What moment in time stands out as important in the foundation of who you are,

Has built you into the person that you have become?

What experience are you grateful for?

The fourth piece to consider is an emotion that you are grateful for that might seem like a very abstract thought,

Giving gratitude to a sense of feeling,

A sense of emotion.

But we spend a lot of time silencing our emotions instead of feeling them.

What would happen if we expressed gratitude for an emotion,

One singular emotion,

A feeling that has made you feel alive?

It doesn't matter what the emotion is.

There is no judgment here.

There are no bad emotions.

They all have a story and they all have purpose.

Which one will you send gratitude to today?

The last,

Fifth,

Final thing in our daily gratitude list is yourself.

When was the last time you sat and gave gratitude to yourself?

Said,

Hey,

Thanks for showing up today.

That time you put in a little bit of extra effort,

You did a really good job.

Or good for you for honoring and surrendering into the notion of rest and silencing the guilt that comes along with it.

When was the last time you put yourself on your list of things to be grateful for?

Taking a big,

Deep breath here.

Daily gratitude broken into five different dedicated categories that maybe are a little bit different than your standard daily gratitude list.

Someone that you are grateful for.

Something,

An object that you are grateful for.

An experience that you are grateful for.

An emotion that you are grateful for.

And finally,

Yourself,

Making sure you land on that list.

It's a lot to consider.

It's a lot to feel.

But if we can break it down into these five categories,

It's a lot easier.

Taking a few more cycles of breath here,

Letting all of that gratitude sink in.

Repeating your list of five over and over throughout your entire day today.

When you feel ready,

I invite you to open the windows of your eyes and come back into your present moment.

These daily gratitude exercises allow us to lead with compassion.

They allow us to lead with sincerity.

And I'm so glad that you put yourself on that list.

Come back here every day if you choose.

Or repeat your list over and over and over until you actually believe it.
