In this meditation, you will make sure to not suffer from imposter syndrome during an exam. Nothing is worse than spending hours preparing for an exam just to blow it during the exam by thoughts that you don't belong here. Prevent that from happening by walking in prepared to combat it.

Welcome back to the Mindful Bowel Tests series of meditations.

Let's start with a deep breath in and let it go.

I have to start by saying that if stress is getting in the way of living the life that you want to live,

You might want to see a doctor.

If you're already seeing a health professional without stress,

You should let her or him know about these meditations.

This time I want you to really watch your breath.

Deep breath in and let it go.

I'm making a variety of these meditations so you have many tools in your toolkit.

No matter what thoughts go through your mind as you're sitting in the exam room,

You're going to be ready.

I want you to notice,

Where do you notice the breath?

At your nose,

In your chest,

As your belly expands.

Deep breath in and let it go.

You should try to practice this many times before the exam so when you get into the exam,

It's second nature.

You know exactly what to do.

And now I want you to think about sitting in the exam room,

You're taking your test,

And you start thinking that,

I'm an imposter,

I'm not that smart,

My teachers think I'm smart,

I get good grades,

But it's all a big lie.

I don't know what I'm doing.

And now I want you to take a deep breath and think,

Maybe they're right or maybe they're wrong.

And it doesn't matter if they're right or if they're wrong,

I'm just going to do as good as I can on this exam.

Deep breath in and let it go.

Let's try that again.

Picture yourself in the exam room.

Look around at the other students,

Their heads down,

They're working on the exam.

Look down at your desk,

You see the test booklet,

Your pens,

Your pencils.

You look up front,

The teacher or the proctor is by the whiteboard.

You're thinking,

That teacher thinks that I'm smart,

But I know that I'm not.

Everyone expects me to do well on this exam,

But I don't know what's going on.

And now I want you to take a deep breath and think,

Those are just thoughts,

Maybe they're right,

Maybe they're wrong,

But it doesn't matter.

Because right now,

All I'm trying to do is do my best on this exam.

Whatever happens,

Happens.

We'll worry about it tomorrow.

Take a deep breath in.

And let it go.

Now I want you to give yourself a little hug and say,

I love me.

I appreciate that I worked so hard getting ready for this exam.

I really appreciate me.

I'm ready with both the knowledge to do well on this exam and the mindset to show them what I know.

Good luck on your exams.
