Okay,
Let's talk about that voice in our head.
You know the one.
The one that always seems to know exactly what we should have done,
Usually about 30 seconds too late.
It shows up after we've made a mistake,
Or said the wrong thing,
Or taken a risk that didn't work out.
It replays the moment.
Points at everything we miss.
And then it somehow believes that if it criticizes us enough,
It'll change what already happened,
Right?
And I met that voice recently.
A simple decision that led to an injury and a few stitches.
The stitches will heal.
But what caught my attention wasn't the injury.
It was how quickly that voice showed up.
You should have known better.
That was so stupid.
Maybe you've heard that voice too.
Well,
If you have,
Let's pause for a moment.
Take a slow breath in.
.
.
And let it go.
One more time,
And.
.
.
And out.
Now without trying to make the voice disappear,
Just notice that it's here.
And then ask yourself one simple question.
But is this voice helping right now?
You don't have to rush to an answer,
Just be curious.
Take another breath.
Or just noticing what happens.
You know,
When I asked myself that question,
Something shifted.
And it wasn't because the voice disappeared,
It didn't.
But I realized that I didn't have to keep following it.
The injury.
That already happened.
The voice wasn't protecting me anymore,
It was just adding another layer onto something that was already complete.
So maybe that's something that you can carry with you today.
Not the expectation that the voice will disappear,
Because it probably won't.
But the next time that you notice it show up.
Must pass.
Take a slow breath.
And then ask yourself.
Is this voice helping right now?
And then simply notice what happens next.
Thank you so much for joining me.
