Monday often gets a bad reputation. But in this meditation, we’ll gently shift our perspective and explore how Monday can actually be something to be grateful for—a chance to begin again. By the end, you’ll feel more open, steady, and connected to the quiet gifts of a new week.

Let's be honest,

Monday doesn't exactly have a fan club.

You know,

It's the day that shows up uninvited after a cozy weekend.

The day of a darn alarm clock and meetings and inboxes that mysteriously filled up overnight.

But what if we gave Monday a little grace?

What if,

Just for a few minutes,

We let go of the stressy headlines and the rush and we looked at Monday through a different lens?

Not as the start of a grind,

But as a quiet beginning.

A fresh page.

A new chance.

Because the truth is,

Not everyone gets a Monday.

Not everyone got to wake up today.

And somewhere,

Underneath the sighs and the eye rolls and the extra strong cup of coffee,

There's something to be deeply grateful for.

So let's dig into that.

Let's take this time not to push through Monday,

But to receive it.

To soften into it.

To breathe into it.

To meet it with our presence.

And maybe even a little appreciation.

Let's start by just getting into that comfortable position.

Sitting,

Lying down,

Whatever feels good to your body.

And let your eyes close gently.

Or you can soften your gaze to the floor.

And take a deep,

Slow breath in.

And a long,

Steady breath out.

Just feeling your body begin to settle.

Letting your shoulders drop away from your ears.

Letting your jaw unclench.

Letting the space between your thoughts begin to widen.

There's nothing you've got to do right now.

Nowhere else that you need to be.

Or just in this moment.

Just this breath.

And this one.

And that one too.

Breathing in.

And breathing out.

Now see if you can bring to mind something,

Anything that you feel grateful for this morning.

It doesn't need to be big.

In fact,

The smaller the better.

For me,

It's a sip of coffee.

Sitting outside and listening to the birds.

A glimpse of blue sky.

For you,

Maybe it's just the fact that your feet touched the floor this morning.

We're just sitting here letting that simple gratitude rise to the surface.

So with your next inhale,

Breathe it in deeply.

Let it warm you from the inside out.

And as you exhale,

Just letting any tension melt away.

Gratitude isn't about pretending that things are perfect.

It's about remembering what's still good.

Even when things are messy.

It's a quiet turning toward the light.

No matter how small the spark.

So now what else can you be thankful for on this Monday?

Maybe a chance to try again.

To move a little slower this week.

To speak more kindly.

To listen more fully.

Or just to show up as authentically as you can.

You can even take a moment to notice what the week might hold that you can already feel grateful for.

Even if it hasn't happened yet.

Even if you don't know how things will go.

Just sitting with the possibility that there are good moments coming.

That this Monday,

Today,

Could be the beginning of something meaningful.

Let's just take a few breaths and quietly repeat to yourself,

Thank you for this Monday.

Thank you for this moment.

Thank you for the chance to begin again.

This is a soft planting of your intention for the week ahead.

You don't have to know how everything's going to go.

But you can choose to be present and grateful for every moment,

For every opportunity that the week brings you.

Being right here,

Right now,

In this moment,

It's a gift that not everyone gets to experience.

So,

As you move into the rest of your day and into the rest of your week,

Just see if you can carry that feeling with you.

The sense of quiet gratitude.

Not necessarily for everything,

But for something.

Not for the pressure,

But for the presence.

Let's take one more deep breath in.

Let it out.

Long sigh.

Wiggle your fingers and toes and when you're ready,

Gently open your eyes.

May you be happy,

May you be healthy and may you be at peace.

Welcome to your Monday.

Welcome to your Monday.

I liked the shift from pushing through to receiving a lot.
