Let's talk about awareness.
You know,
In a world that constantly pulls our attention in every direction,
It's easy to miss what's right in front of us.
This breath,
This moment,
This body,
This space.
But awareness is always here.
It just needs to be noticed.
So,
Wherever you are right now,
Just take a moment to pause.
You don't need to change anything.
Just breathe.
Feel the air as it moves in and out.
Bring your attention to your body.
Maybe you feel the weight of yourself in a chair.
Maybe there's warmth or coolness or stillness.
Just letting yourself feel whatever is there without judgment.
Now listen.
Can you hear any sounds around you?
You can just let them rise and fall in your awareness,
Just like waves on a beach.
And you can look around or you can keep your eyes closed and just sense the space that you're in.
Noticing light and shadow,
Texture and shape.
Even if you're just imagining it.
The awareness doesn't need anything special.
You don't have to be in a peaceful forest or even a quiet room.
It can find you in traffic or at your desk at work or in line at a store.
All it asks is that you arrive.
As Thich Nhat Hanh said,
Awareness is like the Sun.
When it shines on things,
They are transformed.
And when you shine your awareness on your life,
Even in its ordinary messiness,
Something beautiful can happen.
You can wake up.
You can come home to yourself.
Remember that as you go about your day.
