My name is Michelle Baldner and I'm so grateful that you are spending the next few minutes with me here today.
This meditation is best suited for those who need a few minutes for themselves today,
For those who need a reset.
This meditation will be focused on mindfulness and my simple definition of mindfulness is being in the moment.
It's being present,
Being aware of what's happening right now.
As humans our brain is so powerful.
We have this ability to take in everything around us.
So our brain is doing all of this work of consuming our environment and we do this through our senses right through our sounds,
The smells,
Things that we see,
We hear and we feel.
And so while we're doing all of that we're also thinking and interpreting what we're experiencing and thinking about the thing that happened yesterday,
The thing that we have going on later today,
The thing that has to get done tomorrow.
Giving yourself a few minutes to be in the moment is so powerful.
It's not a privilege,
It's a necessity.
The mind and body crave it.
Let's give your mind and body what it needs.
Get comfortable and whatever that means for you.
You can be standing,
You can be sitting,
You can be lying down.
Taking any necessary movements that you need to get comfortable.
When you feel ready begin to close your eyes.
Take a nice deep breath in through the nose and exhale it out through the mouth.
Repeat that two more times just like that.
Inhaling through the nose,
Exhaling through the mouth.
One more time.
After that last exhale you can close the mouth.
Come to a natural state of breathing.
No need to force any type of breath or focus too hard on any type of breathing technique,
Just your natural comfortable breath.
I invite you to place your hand over your heart and feel.
Feel for that heartbeat.
Maybe you notice the rise and fall of your chest.
Take notice of the space that you're in with your other senses.
Listen for any sounds outside the sound of my voice.
Take notice of how your body is feeling.
Maybe you feel warm,
Maybe you're cold and maybe you're comfortable just right.
Take notice if there are any smells and with the eyes closed take notice of the darkness behind the inside of your eyes.
Continue to allow yourself to be in this exact moment.
Now that you've allowed yourself to be present in your body,
Notice how you feel towards being present with yourself.
I invite you to offer yourself a sense of gratitude for giving yourself permission to be with yourself and what a beautiful thing it is to be with yourself.
It's so rare that we give ourselves these moments so we really need to soak them up when we can.
When you feel ready you can start to focus on your breath once again,
Deepening your inhales and your exhales.
And maybe that hand on your chest becomes a little heavier,
Really feeling your chest.
Taking this loving energy that you've created in these moments throughout your day,
Reminding yourself that it just takes a few minutes to be mindful.
Thank you so much for sharing your time with me,
Sending all of my love.
