
Lake Meditation For Stress & Anxiety Relief
This guided meditation will lead you on a path through the countryside to a beautiful mountain lake. There, you will be able to release all your worry, stress, and anxiety and leave feeling refreshed and full of natural vitality and confidence.

Hello and welcome to this guided meditation from Pure Turtle.
This meditation is written to aid you in letting go of stress,
Anxiety,
Shyness and nerves and to fill your mind with confidence,
Power and energy.
Listening to this meditation regularly will help you increase your positive energy reserves,
Ready for any occasion you need them.
Over time,
This build up of kind confidence will become part of who you are,
Making situations you found stressful,
Less daunting and much more manageable.
Please only listen to this meditation when it's safe to do so and never whilst driving or operating machinery.
Now to begin,
I'd like to invite you to settle into your chair or lie down somewhere comfortable,
Like your sofa or your bed and shuffle in your position to get comfortable,
Making sure your clothing isn't digging in and if you're sitting up either cross your legs or place both feet flat on the floor to create a stable base.
Turn your phone to silent mode and ask anyone in your house not to disturb you for the next 15 minutes.
I'd like to invite you to gently close your eyes and bring your attention to your breath.
Is it short or shallow?
Is it in your chest or your stomach?
And once you get a feel for where your breath is going,
I'd like you to softly relax your stomach muscles and allow your breath to extend deep into your stomach.
As you do this,
You should naturally find your inhale is much deeper and longer,
And controlling your breath as you exhale out of your nose,
Slowly begin to lengthen each breath.
And now,
Begin to make your exhale longer than your inhale,
Counting to four as you breathe in and counting to seven as you breathe out.
Breathing in,
Two,
Three,
Four and out,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five,
Six,
Seven.
And in,
Two,
Three,
Four and out,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five,
Six,
Seven.
As you breathe in,
Feel your chest and stomach expand,
Feel the air filling your lungs.
And as you breathe out,
Feel yourself relaxing into your chair or bed as your lungs empty all the way to the bottom.
Feel the support holding you there and allow yourself to sink into it,
Letting it hold you in position,
Allowing your muscles to deeply relax and let go.
And now I'd like you to take another deep breath in,
Two,
Three,
Four and out,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five,
Six,
Seven.
And now,
Allowing your breath to return to a natural,
Comfortable pace,
I'd like you to draw your attention to the top of your head.
I'd like you to feel for any attention around your scalp,
Your forehead,
Your temples.
If you find any tension there,
Gently allow those areas to relax.
Continue down around your ears,
Around your eyes and your cheeks,
Your jaw,
Your tongue.
Gently relaxing any muscles you find there.
Moving down through your chin,
Into your neck,
Out over your shoulders,
Searching for any muscles that might be tense and kindly giving those muscles permission to relax.
Moving down to your arms now,
Relaxing your biceps and triceps,
Down around your elbows and through your forearms and down into your hands,
Through your palm and along each finger,
Searching for any tension and giving those muscles your complete permission to relax.
Moving down through your chest,
Relaxing the muscles around your rib cage,
Around your diaphragm,
Your abdominal muscles and also down your back,
Around your shoulder blades and then slowly working your way down your spine,
Checking each vertebrae as you go down,
Allowing any tense muscles to relax and then gently let go.
Moving down further now to your waist,
Down through your hips and your pelvis,
Keeping relaxing the muscles you find as you go.
Moving on,
Relaxing your buttocks,
Your thighs,
Both front and back,
Down around your knees,
Into your calves and shins and finally your feet,
Moving around your heel,
Through the arch of your foot,
Over the top of your foot and down into each and every toe,
Relaxing every muscle you find on the way.
Being completely relaxed now,
You are free to rest,
No one needs you right now and no one is expecting anything of you.
This time is yours and yours alone.
I'd like you to give yourself full permission to relax and enjoy this time of peace and deep relaxation.
And now I'd like you to imagine that you are walking along a path through the countryside.
The sky is clear and blue,
With light wispy clouds dotted around.
The sun is gently warming your back and the path before you winds through the fields towards some hills.
There is a light breeze teasing your skin as you walk casually along the path.
You can hear the birds singing and you feel at peace as you follow the path further into the hills.
Soon the path starts to climb,
You feel your legs working as you head up the path.
As you walk over a rise,
You see a beautiful lake.
It is completely flat,
If not a ripple in sight.
You can't quite see it to the bottom,
But the water is beautiful and clear.
And looking across you can see the perfect mirrored reflection of the countryside bouncing off the top of the water.
You sit down at the water's edge and slowly reaching forwards you lightly touch the surface of the water with your finger.
Your finger tip just breaking the surface,
It feels cool and refreshing.
As you sit there touching the water,
You find yourself deeply focusing on the tip of your finger.
And after a few moments you begin to feel a stirring within you.
You become aware of any worries or concerns you may have.
Starting deep within your core,
You feel them stirring and starting to move like a liquid.
You feel these negative thoughts float upwards within your body and move into your arm.
And then,
Like a fast flowing river,
They pull down your arm and spill out from the tip of your finger into the water.
Imagine them as a blue ribbon of vibrant colour that flows from your finger tip and out into the lake.
As this ribbon flows away,
You feel your core relaxing as all the worries and concerns drain away until there are none left within you.
Walking out into the lake,
You see the blue ribbon twirling and looping around,
Fading as it dilutes into the clear water until it is gone completely.
As it vanishes,
You feel the lightness and freedom inside you.
Pressure is gone and you feel content and peaceful.
You then extend another finger and dip it into the water.
Again,
The cold water feels nice and you stare at the tip of your finger.
You feel any anxiety,
Stress and fears you have begin to move within your body.
Building up from deep inside you,
Moving up towards your arm and then flowing down your arm towards your finger.
This time imagine it as a yellow ribbon that extends from your finger tip and just as you exhale it flows effortlessly out into the water.
As you watch the ribbon ebb and flow in the currents,
You feel your body adjusting to the anxiety,
Stress and fears leaving your body.
You feel lighter and each breath comes easier and deeper until the ribbon swims away into the water,
Slowly fading until it too has vanished.
Feeling light and relieved,
Like a weight has lifted from deep within you,
You look out into the water and see a bright white ribbon emerging from the deep,
Swirling and looping around and getting brighter as it approaches the surface.
It glows like sunlight and as it grows you can feel its warmth,
You feel its energy from the banks of the lakes and your skin tingles and goosebumps spread throughout your body as the energy gets closer.
White ribbon approaches the banks of the lake and you extend your whole hand into the water and the ribbon makes contact with you.
It enters your hand and rushes up your arm and starts to fill your body.
You feel its energy pulsing through you and you feel joy,
Warmth and boundless energy.
You feel a confidence filling you from the tips of your toes to the top of your head.
Once the ribbon has completely filled you up,
You stand up and close your eyes and bask in the energy flowing through you,
Your muscles tingling with life,
Sending goosebumps all over your skin.
Your shoulders relax and your head tilts up as you take a deep breath and a long,
Slow exhale.
You feel full of confidence,
Positivity and strength,
Like you could accomplish absolutely anything.
You turn from the lake and head up the winding path.
You notice how effortless the walk is now,
Your legs no longer having to work hard to drive you forwards.
It feels like you could float your way up the hill.
You take in the sounds,
The sights and the smells and as you get higher and higher,
Your feet feel like they are barely touching the ground.
You are soon near the top of the hill,
You stride forward feeling ever lighter as you move towards the peak.
As you climb you feel weightless and you begin to walk faster and faster until you are running.
And as you reach the summit you effortlessly float off the ground and soar over the top of the hill.
You have no fears and no doubts as you float gently up into the sky.
You notice that you can control your flight with just a thought.
You look up and float gently higher into the sky as the sun bathes you in warm light and you marvel at the views from horizon to horizon.
Looking around you see your house and you decide to drift towards it.
You pass over small clouds and enjoy the views and begin to descend as you draw closer.
Passing gently over the landscape,
The joyous confident energy still coursing through your veins.
You feel eager to get home and enjoy the rest of your day.
Skimming over the rooftops until you reach your front door,
You float gently through the open door and into your living room.
And ever so softly you land on your sofa,
Your body completely supported and you sink comfortably into the cushions.
You close your eyes and take a few deep breaths in with a few long slow exhales.
And now feeling full of confidence and positive energy and remembering that you can return to this meditation whenever you like.
I'd like you to bring your attention back to your body.
Be mindful of how relaxed,
Calm and confident you are feeling.
Begin to stretch your arms and legs.
Wiggle your fingers and toes.
With a smile bring your attention gently back to the world.
And when you are ready,
Open your eyes.
