We are instinctive in nature. To suppress our feelings, sensations, or emotions that arise out of our instinctive nature is to dishonour our own life force. In Instinctive Meditation, we honour our Instincts. Giving them the freedom to express what our deepest needs are.

Honouring the instincts in meditation and in life.

In the natural world life is governed by the instinctive nature of things.

Life wants us to survive and thrive.

When we learn to tune into our instincts,

To flow with the natural energies that drive us.

When we get in the flow without second guessing our gut feelings.

This is when we thrive.

In meditation our instinctive nature can come out to play and talk to us from our subconscious,

From our inner world.

When we allow ourselves to flow with the life force and welcome whatever arises.

With an awareness of the instincts we can develop a deeper understanding of what instincts we are honouring.

Those that we are allowing to guide us and importantly those we may be suppressing in our lives.

Meditation is a safe place to allow all parts of ourselves to come out to play.

To allow all of our instincts to express their energies without necessarily living them out in the world.

Often we have thoughts,

Feelings,

Emotions that arise that don't fit the picture that we believe to be proper or good.

Good meditation with the quiet mind and serenity that we are told that we should have.

Forget these notions and embrace your aliveness as you allow your instincts to guide you in your meditation and throughout your day.

Let's use the meditation doorway of being with something you love,

Doing something that fills your heart.

We practice developing our own rich sensory experiences as we delve into this experience.

Engage your vision and all the qualities of sight.

Allow the sounds of your experience to fill your inner world.

Allow the air,

Feel your skin,

The touch of air on your skin,

The touch of the sun on your skin.

Experience the micro movements of your activity in every muscle and joint.

Being aware of your body's shape in space,

Your relationship to the earth.

Feel gravity,

How it's working with and on your body.

Allow yourself to fully experience whatever your gateway elicits.

Then inquire what instincts are playing out in my inner world while I'm doing something that I love,

Something that fills my heart.

Am I resting?

Am I exploring?

Hunting?

Is it communion that I desire?

Am I playing or am I nurturing?

What natural urges are brought up for your tender awareness to embrace?

Is your experience one of protecting,

Of feeding,

Of nesting,

Of grooming or gathering?

Your meditative experience may be centered around one particular instinct or you might find that as you allow yourself to experience whatever arises that all the different parts of you come up to play.

All these different instincts.

When we practice being aware of and then honoring the instincts that come out to play in our meditation,

We can be more aware of how we are embracing or suppressing our life forces natural expression in our daily lives.

When we honor all of who we are,

When we celebrate our instinctive nature in meditation,

We allow our natural nature to unfold more fully in our daily lives.
