Welcome to the wandering mind meditation.
The purpose of this meditation is to help you notice your wonderful wandering mind and then like a shepherd to gather the flock,
Gather the sheep,
The thoughts with love to herd them in the right direction.
Because we have a mind,
The mind is not a curse,
It's not a mistake,
It's there for a reason.
It's a wonderful thing,
Just needs a bit of love and attention.
To begin,
Just enjoy those beautiful deep breaths,
Gentle,
And as you breathe out,
Nice slow,
Slow out breath,
Letting yourself get a little bit more relaxed with each breath.
And as you breathe,
Just start to become aware of the wandering sheep,
The thoughts and feelings within yourself.
As you do this,
You are becoming a detached observer.
Instead of being the mind,
You are watching.
Just imagine yourself stepping back,
It's like getting up from your seat in a movie theater and walking out.
Looking back at the screen,
Still there,
But you are aware,
Snapped out of it.
And now,
Realize that you can control the things that happen on the screen of your mind.
You can create castles in the sky,
You can imagine sheep jumping over a fence,
You can imagine beautiful landscapes and the ocean,
You can imagine anything you like.
This is your creative power.
So think about this,
What would you like to fill your mind with?
This is your screen,
This is your personal,
Private movie.
Nobody else is ever gonna really know or see or hear your mind the way that you do.
Even if you speak to people,
Tell them what you're thinking,
They still will never know what you're thinking.
What would you like to have on your private movie theater?
Not only can you herd the sheep of your mind,
You can turn the sheep into anything you like.
You can remove the sheep,
You can add more sheep,
You can make them all pink,
Make them dance and wear special hats.
This is your mind,
You can do whatever you want.
So what would you like to have in your mind?
What sort of thoughts,
Images,
Feelings?
Most people have never asked this question,
Nor do they realize they have power to change their mind,
But you do.
So what would you love?
Fill your mind with something,
Just pick one thing,
Could be a feeling,
A thought,
An image,
A word,
And just focus on that for one minute.
And if your mind wanders off,
Then you can just bring it back,
It's your mind after all.
Just a little bit of practice goes a long way.
So take this with you,
And remember,
This is your mind,
It's your private movie theater,
And you can choose.
And the more you choose,
Consciously choose what goes on your mind,
The more your mind will be filled with things you like.
And the secret to this is to become detached,
To watch,
To step back,
To realize you're separate from your mind,
And you are the master of your mind.
So every meditation,
Every moment of the day has the potential for us to exercise our power,
And to create beautiful things.
You can create beautiful things,
Beautiful images,
Feelings,
Beautiful words of affirmation,
Blessings,
There's a whole universe inside of you.
So talk to yourself with love,
And realize you can make your entire inner world profoundly beautiful.
