Return to nature for deep and grounding connection with the natural world in this guided meditation for overwhelm, stress, anxiety, and hard times. Anchor in peace with a special place that has significance to you. This meditation is perfect for beginners as well as seasoned practitioners and can be relistened to for a unique experience each time. So, create a quiet space, find a relaxing position, lying down or sitting, close your eyes, and prepare to reconnect with the Earth.

Transcript

Just getting comfortable either lying down or sitting,

Feeling where the surface meets all the different parts of your body.

And as you feel supported by this surface,

Just begin to open to a special place in nature that you've visited.

You're now just bringing your attention to your breath,

Breathing in and breathing out,

Allowing each breath to draw you closer and closer to your internal world.

Breathing in and breathing out.

And with each breath,

Your body relaxes more and more.

Just feeling any tension release in your face muscles,

Allowing relaxation to permeate your being.

Feeling as your neck relaxes and feeling relaxation arrive in your shoulders,

Your arms,

Your hands.

You may even feel your fingers tingle a small bit or you may not.

Follow this relaxation down your chest to your stomach.

Follow it all the way down your spine,

Vertebra by vertebra,

As it travels down your back.

Your buttocks relax,

Your genitals,

Your thighs,

Knees,

Ankles,

And feet.

You may even feel your toes tingle a small bit or you may not.

And as your body relaxes deeper and deeper,

Just continuing to breathe in and breathe out,

Allowing yourself to rest in this relaxation.

On your next breath,

Just sensing or imagining or feeling that you're very near to returning to this special place in nature,

A place you've been to before.

Perhaps a place where you felt most connected to yourself,

Life,

Or the earth.

This place could be a garden,

A yard,

A forest,

A desert,

A river,

Mountains,

The beach,

A lake,

The ocean,

Or anywhere you've visited that has special significance to you.

I'm going to count from five to one,

And at the number one,

You will be in or be very near to returning to that place in nature that has special significance to you.

Five,

Just deciding on a place in nature that you've visited,

One that has special significance to you,

A place where you might have felt most connected to yourself,

Life,

And the earth.

Four,

With each number,

Just getting closer and closer to fully and completely being in this place,

Knowing that you will soon arrive there.

Three,

Returning to your breath,

Noting how each breath draws you deeper and deeper to this place,

Connecting you more and more.

Two,

Allowing all your senses,

Your inner sense of touch,

Smell,

Taste,

Sight,

Your inner sense of hearing,

And especially your sense of inner knowing to open wider and wider.

One,

Now just arriving at this place in nature,

Stepping onto the ground with your feet.

And now,

Sensing how your feet feel on the ground,

Does the ground feel hard or soft?

Sensing the material of the ground,

Perhaps soil or rock or some other material,

Just feeling if there is a breeze,

Perhaps the air ruffles your hair or blows on your cheek,

Or perhaps the air is still.

Take a moment now to feel what it's like to be back in this place.

Does it have a smell?

Where is the light arriving from?

In what ways does this place feel familiar?

In what ways does this place feel different?

As you fully and completely continue to be in this place,

Grounding and anchoring here,

I will stop talking for a while.

Now just allowing your connection to this special place in nature to deepen even more,

Knowing that any insights you've received can be brought back into every aspect of your life,

Allowing this connection to inform your physical being,

Your mental being,

Your emotional being,

And your spiritual being,

Knowing that you can return to this place at any time.

Now slowly shifting your focus to coming back.

If you explored or wandered through this place,

Just allowing yourself to return the same way you arrived,

Taking a moment to find your starting point,

Using all the time you need.

Now just returning the way you came,

Perhaps thanking this special place for the connection it holds in your life,

Or showing gratitude in any way that feels comfortable,

Right,

And natural to you.

Giving your focus to your breath,

Breathing in and breathing out,

Knowing that you can bring any insights you've just had back with you into every aspect of your life.

Now coming slowly back into your space,

Just feeling the surface under you,

Perhaps stretching a bit,

Taking all the time you need,

Opening your eyes when you are ready.

I really loved this. My visualizations brought me to my favorite spot in childhood - my grandparents’ farm. My grandmother is no longer with us and I was able to connect with her via the sunflower patch and weeping willow tree. I’ll definitely come back to this meditation - it was so healing. Thank you 🙏🏽
