Go ahead and close down your eyes and let yourself start to settle into what's beneath you,
Letting your body start to relax,
Let your shoulders begin to drop,
Start to check in with your neck and if it's feeling tense or tight,
Maybe create some movement,
Moving the head from side to side and front to back.
Start to notice the eyes and let yourself start to release tension,
Almost as if the eyes could drop.
Notice the tension that exists in the jaw and allow for that to drop.
Notice your hands and let them be loose,
Maybe wiggling the fingers.
Start to notice if there's any tension,
Anything being held onto in the chest and just let yourself let go.
As you feel the release of tension in all these places,
The shoulders,
The neck,
The jaw,
The eyes,
The hands,
Start to let your lower body relax,
Sink into the chair beneath you,
Letting the toes be loose and as you start to slip into this space of relaxation,
Start to let yourself find that stillness,
The stillness of the body,
The stillness of the breath,
Just letting it come in and out and then finally starting to play with the stillness of the mind.
For a moment,
Just let yourself become aware of those thoughts that are coming in,
Noticing if they're pulling you in one direction,
If they're moving you to the past or if they're taking you running into the future,
Trying to figure things out or maybe there's one event or one worry that continues to circle,
Let your attention start to rest on that thought and if the body starts to respond to that thought with any tension or tightness,
Just remind it that it's safe to let go,
It's safe to find that stillness again and it's safe to find stillness within the mind,
It's safe to let go of that thought,
To just be present to this moment and as you start to let that thought settle,
Not needing to fix or change anything,
Let yourself be fully present to right here,
Noticing what it feels like to be in your body,
In your home,
Noticing what it feels like to breathe into your body,
Breathe out,
Noticing what it feels like to be safe,
What it feels like to be still,
What it feels like to let go of worry and as that worry slips away,
As that tension melts away,
As you become aware of here and now,
Start to become aware of the beauty that exists all around you,
Remembering the beauty of everything that exists in your world and if those thoughts continue to creep back in,
Just let them fall away,
Remembering that beauty,
That stillness,
That safety,
Resting in that feeling that in this moment everything is okay,
That you are okay,
As you continue to let yourself just melt into that stillness,
That safety,
That feeling of being okay,
Start to become aware of the sounds in the room,
As you breathe in through your nose,
Noticing the smell,
With that gentle swallow,
Noticing taste,
Starting to bring your fingertips together,
Just noticing touch and then when it feels right and safe,
Just flutter your eyes open,
Take in that space all around you and enter back,
Connected and calm.
