When life feels full and demanding, it can be grounding to return to a sense of balance and enoughness. This gentle session with Michael Galyon offers space to slow down, reconnect with your breath, and release the quiet pressure to keep doing or proving. Through simple awareness and presence, you’ll practice resting where you are and letting steadiness settle into the body. You’ll leave with an intention to guide your day: Today, I’ll rest in the fact I’ve done enough.

Welcome to Day 12 of Insight Timer's Intention Setting Challenge.

Setting an intention is making a decision about who you want to be and how you choose to show up.

Over time,

Those choices become change.

Let's begin.

Hi,

And welcome to Day 12 of Insight Timer's Intention Setting Challenge.

My name is Michael Galean,

And today we're focusing on balance,

The quiet steadiness that comes when we stop swinging between doing too much and feeling like we've done enough.

Balance asks us to come home to center,

To trust that rest and movement,

Ease and effort all have their place.

You don't have to keep proving your worth,

You are already enough.

To help bring this energy into your day,

We'll focus on the intention,

Today,

I'll rest in the fact I've done enough.

Now take a moment to settle into your body.

Allow yourself to sit or lie down in a way that feels supportive.

Let your eyes gently close or just soften your gaze.

Begin by noticing where your body is being held.

The weight of you resting on the surface beneath you.

There's nowhere else you need to be right.

Nothing you need to accomplish in this moment.

Bring your attention to the natural rhythm of your breath.

There's no need to change it or fix it.

Just notice the inhale and the exhale.

And as you breathe,

Become aware of any sense of pressure in your body.

That subtle feeling of needing to do more,

Of needing to be more or to get it right.

You don't need to push that away,

Just simply notice it.

Now gently place your hand on your chest and the other on your belly.

And let this be a signal of steadiness.

A reminder that you are allowed to pause.

And as you continue to breathe,

Feeling that rise and fall,

Silently repeat the intention,

Today,

I've done enough.

Say it slowly.

And notice how the body responds.

If the mind starts to argue,

That's okay.

You're not here to force belief.

You're here to offer yourself a different experience.

Once more,

Say it quietly.

Today,

I've done enough.

With each exhale,

Imagine releasing the need to keep proving your worth.

Letting go of the mental list that never quite feels finished.

And then finally,

Begin to extend that intention,

Repeating,

Today,

I'll rest in the fact,

I've done enough.

Let the words settle.

Let the shoulders soften.

Let the jaw unclench.

And rest here for one more breath.

Breathing in.

Breathing out.

Allowing balance to be something you return to,

Not something you earn.

Nothing more is required.

When it feels right,

If those eyes have been closed,

Go ahead and flutter them open and take in the space around you.

Now,

Before you move into the rest of your day,

Just return back to that breath and let yourself feel the relief of that truth.

You've done enough.

You are enough.

Notice how your body softens when you allow that to be real.

And remember,

Today,

I'll rest in the fact,

I've done enough.

On the next few screens,

You'll be invited to set this intention,

Or a variation of it,

To your insight timer home screen.

The simple act of seeing your intention reflected back throughout the day is enough to create change.

I want to wish you good luck with the rest of your challenge.

Have a beautiful day.

I have listened to this meditation session first on the 31 day challenge of 2026 and now listrn to it whenever I feel I need to give my self permission to rest .

This is a good one for me! I am a list maker and always have a sense of being in the middle of a long set of to dos that never ends. Thank you for this nice framing.

Thank you, Michael, for giving voice to that which I, as a slow moving artist and fine craftsman, have only rarely dared to utter: “I have done enough”. This such a foreign concept to me, because everyone around me — parents, teachers, spouses, offspring, sibling, clients, employers, co-workers… literally EVERYONE — has always chided me for not doing enough or getting enough completed on time, so I have soent 65 years struggling to play “Catch Up!”, yet only rarely doing so, so this Intention is at once both the most joyous and devastatingly painful one of all, and one I may need to repeat in mantra-like fashion for quite some time before my heart and mind can fully absorb it. But thank you, because anything that hits this hard (and hurts this much) must surely, eventually, be therapeutic. Namaste, Doug

How did I feel when I told myself that I have done enough....cried my eyes out....I'm so exhausted with the effort of doing enough....and never feeling that I've done all that I can. This meditation really struck home. Thank you 🙏🙏🙏
