So just a reminder,
These meditations are meant to be done in the stillness and silence of a space where you can relax,
Close your eyes.
So if you're anywhere that requires you to be mindful and aware,
If you're driving or anywhere that needs your attention,
Maybe pause this and come back later.
Otherwise,
Just find a comfortable position,
Whether you're sitting or lying down.
And you can either keep your eyes open with a soft gaze or gently allow for them to close,
Whatever feels most comfortable and calming for you right now.
And from here,
Just take a deep breath in and a long breath out.
Begin by simply noticing your breath.
There's no need to change it or fix it,
But just observe that natural rhythm of breathing as you breathe in and breathe out,
Drawing all your attention and awareness to what it feels like to breathe,
Letting it be effortless and natural,
Easy.
Breathing in and breathing out.
Now,
Start to draw your awareness to the top of your head and begin to consciously soften each part of your body.
Soften your forehead.
Let your eyebrows relax.
Release any tension around your eyes.
Let your jaw drop slightly.
Soften your neck and your shoulders.
Let them drop away from your ears.
Release your arms.
And your hands.
Let them be heavy and relaxed.
Soften your chest and that space around your heart.
Let your breathing be easy and natural.
Release your belly.
Let it be soft and round.
Soften your lower back,
Your hips,
Your legs,
All the way down to your feet.
And let your whole body start to settle into what's supporting you right now.
And start to imagine that you're creating a small,
Protected pocket of space around you.
This is a pocket of stillness,
A place where nothing is required of you,
A place where you don't have to do anything.
You don't have to be anything other than exactly who you are right now.
And in this pocket of stillness,
Time moves differently.
There's no rushing.
No urgency.
No pressure to be anywhere other than here.
And knowing that this pocket of stillness is a place to return to,
Always available,
And a place that you can stay as long as you need,
For a moment or a while.
Breathe into this pocket of stillness.
Feel how safe and unhurried it is.
Notice how your body responds to being in a space where rest is not only allowed,
But encouraged.
Let yourself linger here,
Breathing slowly.
Feeling completely supported.
Notice that even as the world moves around you,
This pocket of stillness remains still,
Steady,
And available.
Rest here just for a few more breaths,
Knowing that you can return to this place anytime you need it.
It's not dependent on your circumstances of being perfect or your schedule being empty.
It's always here,
Waiting for you to remember that it exists.
Now,
Take a deep breath in,
And breathe out.
When you're ready,
Gently begin to return to the room,
Carrying this sense of rest with you,
Knowing that this pocket of stillness travels with you wherever you go.
If your eyes have been closed,
Go ahead and flutter them open,
And take in all the space around you,
Entering back,
Connected,
And calm.
As you go forward this week,
Continue to remember that rest is not only an important thing for you,
But it might be the most important thing for you this week,
And that you are completely deserving of giving yourself those moments to find those pockets of stillness.
Now,
Go gently with yourself,
Carrying that pocket of stillness with you wherever you go,
And remember that that rest is always available to you,
Even in the middle of everything.
So today we'll end as we began,
With a deep breath in,
And breathe out,
And let it all settle.
Now,
Go take care of yourself,
And I will see you next week.
