This meditation offers you the opportunity to tap into the power of your own breath,
To relax your mind and body as you are gently guided to follow your breath and connect in with the stillness within you.
So let's begin by getting comfortable,
Whatever that means for you if you'd like to lay down or be seated.
You can be seated in a chair with your hands in your lap,
Palms down or up,
And you can have your eyes open.
Often,
It's more helpful to have them closed,
But again,
Whatever feels right for you.
And we're going to settle into our space and begin with a nice big deep breath in.
And exhale.
And another big deep breath in.
And out.
And one more big deep breath in.
And as you exhale,
Let everything go.
And as you continue to breathe,
Keep your attention on your breath.
For when we focus on one thing,
Such as our breath,
It releases our attention and focus on many things,
Whether it's a racing mind or distractions that surround us.
Anything that is worrying us or exciting us or making us nervous,
When we focus on our breath with deep and expansive inhales and exhales,
We loosen the hold that other things have on our attention and we become more calm and present.
And if you'd like,
You can count to four with the inhale.
So it would be a deep breath in two,
Three,
Four,
Hold it for two.
And exhale two,
Three,
Four.
Inhale one,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Holding it for two.
Exhale two,
Three,
Four.
And follow this counting to four in,
Holding it for two,
An exhale for four,
Feeling yourself become more calm and centered.
For the power of your breath will always bring you into a feeling of peacefulness and healing.
As you bring oxygen to all your cells and all your organs,
That's so important and really so easy and available to you whenever you need.
Starting to breathe in,
Holding it for two,
And out for four.
Full rhythm of your breath leading in deeper state,
A calm state,
So peaceful.
You are downshifting through your breath into a level that's more clear.
Deep breathing,
Feeling relaxed,
Letting go of the day,
Releasing the thoughts,
The feelings,
Whatever is weighing you down.
So much peacefulness as you focus on your breath and feel your entire body shifting gently into a calmer version of yourself.
Letting go and opening up to this beautiful feeling of calming clarity and easy exhilaration through your breath with each inhale and exhale.
And now that you have found your center through your breath,
Recognize your ability to focus on one thing,
Your breath with easy and calm mindfulness that has gifted you with the ability to find your center,
For this is something you can do anywhere or at any time.
All you have to do is close your eyes and breathe.
And now gently begin to wiggle your toes,
Loosen your legs,
Move your arms,
Hands and fingers,
Feeling the peacefulness throughout your body ignited by your breath as we take one more nice big beautiful deep breath in and let it out.
And when you're ready,
You can gently open your eyes and come back to your space.
